Back in high school when everyone played it I collected all the original pokemon set of cards (still have them lol), but after they added all those other sets I lost interest.

Well I spent a long time on it (10+ hours) and kept a close eye on my reference images, and of couse Photoshop makes it easy to zoom in and touch up areas.

But its all just done with different sized brushes and colours, and lots of patience

Well finished my Lotus yay! Really happy with the wacom tablet, makes things so much easier

Here's the finished product with BG:

And one without the BG:

I think I might draw a Formula 1 car next, anyone know a good reference? (preferably when the cars looked good :P)

Of course they are not compensated, they all have to have them. The aerodynamic performance of the cars is only as much as the FIA alow anyway. In fact, the first on-board camera attached to an F1 car was for testing, and not for TV coverage.

As of 1998 all cars need at least 2 on-board cameras (probably more now), and I guess they can be molded into the shape of the bodywork as to lessen any aerodynamic effect.

Looks seriously good. Its games like this that I can justify getting my walet out for

Here's a 2 year old vid of the game, someone landing on a moving train:

Looked good even then.

Quote from niall09 :If he got killed, could've been a Darwin award niminee

You can get a Darwin award if the accident renders you infertile iirc. I reckon he might get one yet

Just been painting a car in Photoshop and wondered if there was a car sketching thread, so I'll give this a bump.

Here is a pencil sketch I did about 4 years ago, when I was 16:

And a purposely left unfinished Audi:

A few weeks ago I brought a wacom intuos 3 tablet, so been playing around with that and been drawing a lotus, not finished yet but here it is so far:

Hopefully will get it finished tomorrow (btw, to anyone who is thinking of buying a wacom tablet: do it! )

Is there much point in consoles these days? PC is capable of much better graphics (by now), xbox360 controllers work on the PC, most games that come out on consoles are out on PC sooner or later, games are cheaper, and if anything goes wrong there's a higher chance you can fix it yourself (even more so if you built it yourself).

I had a PS3 and hardly used it (MGSIV was only good for so long) so got rid of it

Well recieved a G25 today and its much better to use than a DFP. Just trying the Radical round some tracks and I was almost a second quicker each lap than usuall. The pedals arn't perfect but its much easier to find the braking point.

On a side note going round Lime Rock in the radical is sooo much fun,, going round in the F1 car will be the best thing ever

Haha I remember there was a topic about this on the something awful forums, and people created such gems as this

EDIT: http://www.phunbox.net has loads of pre-build scenes to try out.

Quote from TiJay :Mark Blundell was the F1 driver right? Keep him!

How come? Usually most of what he says is: "The rain what might come today might make the track slippery from what I can remember driving it 15 years ago".

Not annoying as such but didn't really add anything for me

Well I'm pretty happy about that, obviously an improvment commentry-wise . Jake Humphrey though? And on page 2 it mentions DC and him may be presenting from a studio in london for all the races, which I don't like the sound of. I'd rather have DC there talking to the drivers and stuff.

Well now we know why the FIA doesn't give Ferrari penalties, they have a rubbish pit system to get random penalties from.

That said Massa has to get a penalty from this.

Edit: and he's got one.

Nice to see things nice and mixed up though, and more overtaking than I thought

Quote from Mattesa :Well Hamilton has been performing extremely well lately. Ferrari looked almost nervous. Did you see the guy in the pit (I'm sure he's a well known important 'guy'...) almost on the verge of tears when Massa crossed the line to take Pole?

Hamilton's the clear technical favourite, but we'll see. I'm a Kimi and Massa fan with the Lego set to prove it.

Yeah I agree with you for sure. It just seems people spite certain drivers for ridiculous reasons, or hope another driver crashes just so their fav can win.

The great thing is Barichello was given a 10,000 euro fine because he didn't slow down to enter the pits in the deceleration zone - the same place Heidfeld got penalized for.

If you don't want rounding errors don't deal with decimals. Sientific calculators can easily do 1*(1/3) x 5*(36/60) on a calculator and it will leave you with a perfectly accurate fraction in return

edit: the answer is 1 btw :P

Quote from pb32000 :What I really find good about the iPhone (and I assume the iPod does this too) is the corrective typing. You can bash out a lot of text very quickly and it corrects nearly everything really quite well.

Ah missed that. I was just messing around with my dads touch for a bit and it was mostly for web pages that wouldn't have been corrected anyway. It would make texting much easier though

The pit enterance/exit is really bizarre, I hope it doesn't cause problems in the race.

Massa's lap was really great, and probably not down to fuel as much as some Hamilton fans would like to believe :P

Seriously though, I would say that I am a fan of Hamiltons driving and don't really know him well enough to judge him based on his interviews, but some comments on this forum are rediculous. You want Massa to crash so that Hamilton can win?! Oh-kay...

The iTouch is nice to use, but I think its all a bit pointless really:

1. Takes ages to convert videos, which is probably the main advantage of the big screen. Why oh why can't you let us use AVI apple??

2. The downloadable apps seem to be mostly for novelty. Great, I can tilt the device to virtually drink a carling...

3. The on screen keyboard is built for people with impossibly small thumbs. I can hardly type a word without pressing the wrong key.

It's like a full feature phone but missing the bit where you actually call people. If you want a iTouch I'd get an iPhone instead, but its pricy.

If you want a player with lots of space and can play music and videos easily, you could get an archos. Loads more space, no time-wasting converting your video files, plus has a touch screen and wi-fi.

my $0.02
