Quote from Intrepid :I have contacted the iRacing team, and at this time recommend no one pay for iRacing until this is sorted

In that case no-one should buy any pc game ever made, because it may not work on your particular hardware!

If you can't get it working I guess they could give you a refund if they're nice.

Quote from beefyman666 :No snow, feels bloody cold enough for it though.

Bit offtopic, where in Plymouth you from?

Yes it was absolutely freezing this morning.

I live just north of Freedom Fields, on Lipson Road.

I think the development process has been excellent so far, and expect nothing less from this update. There have been some exciting announcements, they keep good communication with us, and the online system has been faultless.

I hope a full flag system is implemented, blue and yellow etc. Hopefully a few things we don't expect too (Edit: ^ like engine-damage modelling I guess )

He could at least not be monotone, but I think a lot of it is beacuse he doesn't like the media, we all get the hint he's a much more interesting guy away from the cameras.

^ It won't be the first time a championship is decided this way, though the FIA will proberly intervene and penalties will be handed out...

Heikki really needs to get in front of at least 1 Ferrari to give any help to Lewis. Though judging recent form this is unlikely I guess.

The tracks are on alternating days, so when you go to the Solstice series and expand it, you will see that today on the 27th is Lowe's Motor Speedway and tomorrow is Summit Point Raceway, alternating each day till the end of the week. Its just a schedule for pointing out what you can race on what day, so only one will be available at a time.

Normally tracks will alternate each week.

Doesn't look better than crysis here, but runs much smoother, and the loading times are great (as long as you dont die too often).

Is it just me that is getting run over alot? There might be a few cars in front of me that I need to a few grenade at, or I'm taking out a few guys, and BAM! Run over by some phantom car behind that I didn't even notice before.

I can't say I like this game hugely atm. The story (what there is of it) doesn't suck you in at all, and all the travling is getting tedious, especially when taking the road guarantees a firefight every 2 minutes, and EVERY other AI car is an enemy, even the ones that look civilian.

Dead Space is where its at thb, awesome game.

Edit: e2mustang, yeah its out

Quote from mutt107 :how do i find out my friends router gateway address?

Connect to the internet through the router, Start -> Run, type in cmd and press ok, then type in "ipconfig" (without quotes) and press enter, that will tell you the default gateway.

The bit where he pretends he is calling from Iraq and plays the firefight sounds CD was pretty funny.

Some bits aren't great but its worth watching.

Enter the router gateway address into a browser, e.g. 192.168.1.1, log in and view the security settings, then you can view or change it.

Thats if your friend knows the password to log into the router lol

Quote from Senninha25 :And I'm bloody sure everybody will agree with me that when he said he would be as good (or better than) as Ayrton Senna, that was it.

Are you sure the media didn't just make that up?

I can't remember him saying that in a video interview. In fact he has recently said he admires Senna and would be happy to achieve even a small amount of his success.

If you can provide a video where he says that though go ahead.

Quote from BigDave2967 :Back to the topic in hand, obviously some of you intended to ignore Victor's plea.

If Hamilton wins, how far back in positions does Massa have to be in order for Hamilton to take the title in China tomorrow?

5th, so he would be 11 points behind going into Brazil.

Quote from lerts :yep i admit theres probably no petrol companies hiding this fact

it must be very few people get amazed by this and prefer clasic source of knowledge from books

in fact the only link that points how to reverse a compass is for a book

what % of internet is porn?

Its just the internet is very unreliable, anyone can add their opinions. How do you know what is right and what is wrong? There is a reason books are still used, a bunch of scientists can publish a book and it can be verified and used as an official tool in education. You can't do that with the internet, it changes all the time and is filled with false facts.

Edit: Something like this: A Physics Book. It may not be free, but you will end up with a better understanding of physics than browsing the internet could give you.

Quote from lerts :i see but something ive noticed is i can reverse needle polarity moving the magnet 1 mm

what if i built a big compass and reverse it letting it produce energy by moving a magnet 1 mm and being in the neutral point of the needle almost effortlessly

Well you don't need to move the magnet because the magnetic force acts in a field a distance around the magnet itself, so by bringing the magnet close to the needle, the field would be acting on the electrons in the needle.

Quote from lerts :i tried to reverse bigger magnets but i couldnt but the theory is that if you cross the neutral point with the north of another magnet you can reverse it

i have some ideas to do this but by now i prefer to use my inventive on finding an enlightening method which im trying by making brain go dual syncronizing both hemispheres and ending dominance, is not good being mononeural better stereoneural

Wow ok good luck with that!

Quote from lerts :and whats your view on not being my trick detailly explained nowhere i dont want to get conspiratory about it but i cant help myself since its a fact is unavalible

whats your view on this unavalability of the trick?

I did A-level physics at College. The knowledge is very available and in many books. In fact if I was to go to my University library and look around a bit I might get overwhelmed by the knowledge on magnets .

Books are the definitive source for things like this, especially ones recognised by educational syllabuses

Quote from Kalev EST :Someone please explain to me how the heck calling someone a "chocolate dude" is offensive? Don´t give me that "it´s a cheap racist comment" dribble. Explain why.

The way I see it, it´s just a description of his skin. The same as "look at that blond girl over there". If you guys think calling him a "chocolate dude", which essentially is calling him a black guy (which he is), is offensive then who´s the real racist?

You guys remind me of this guy. Except he´s a funny parodist. You´re not.

Well back when I was in middle school I was fairly pale and a few people liked to call me "whitey" etc. It was meant as a taunt and insult, and I did not find it amusing at all.

So if you go over to an overweight person and called him "fatty" you would just be describing him. No harm meant right?

Quote from Linsen :If you gained nearly 0.5 SR, you must have gone from just below one full point to above it (f.e. from 3.99 to above 4.0). Everytime you cross a full point you get a boost of around 0.4x, thus when you only gain 0.01 which would take you to 4.0, you're actually going to 4.4x. That is so you don't keep switching back and forth between those levels (with a Rookie license and >4.0 you're eligible to drive the skippy and with a 3.99 you're not).

And 0.1 is a normal gain for an incident free race. How much you actually gain depends on license level and on how clean you've been in the past.

At an SR of 3.0-3.99 it's easier to maintain your SR than it is at an SR of 4.0-4.99. And if you've been very clean in the past, a 0 incident race will gain you less than if you've had some bad races with lots of incidents. That's because there is a history of your corners per incident kept in the background. The longer back, the less your cpi is calculated into your current SR gain or loss. Thus it might happen, that a rather clean race will only gain you little SR, because it sort of replaces a much earlier 0 incident race. This also goes the other way around, of course.

Thanks, that makes sense! I went from 2.99 to 3.5ish. I guess it does that so you don't end up with a borderline 4.0 license for example?
