Quote from Forbin :The visible racing line isn't even a good one in most instances I've seen.

Stop using it as a crutch, learn how to pick out your own reference points, and learn how to drive.

Well IMO the line itself isn't too bad, the colors are pretty much off though
Don't bother using it for any car. ESPECIALLY BF1, since you won't have much time to look at it anyway

XFR has a sequential gearbox, so you can only shift using the up/down commands, which can be assigned to anything. You can't use an H-shifter though.

I know this has nothing to do with this recent test patch, but you do know that you are still able to upload hotlaps from the test patches onto lfsworld even with ABS enabled? I don't really think it can be abused a lot, but editing the 2 bytes in the .spr to 00 instead of the patch number makes the replays valid.

Quote from Forbin :Lean Angle = angle from the contact patch to center of gravity, relative to the normal
Gravity = force of gravity in G's
Lateral G = Gravity * tan(Lean Angle)

Simple. It applies to all vehicles with two tandem wheels, including bicycles.

Huh, well nice to learn something I actually thought that the lean completely cancelled the lateral g-forces.

Unless you applied you aren't (I guess).

Lateral g's on a motorcycle? What did I miss here

Please don't come to Denmark if you like cars.. We have a 180% tax on all cars on top of the normal sales price So if you can buy 1 car in Denmark, you can buy 2-3 of the same car for that price in the UK, Sweden or Germany.

Oh this will be awesome.. Except my only source of Top Gear is filesharing, since TV here is 2 seasons behind (and HD TV is close to non-existant yet) :/ That means I will probably have to download files several times bigger

Yeah in any game where you could actually FEEL handling differences, I would keep all my cars stock or fully race tuned also. No ricing stuff
But in this game, it makes no difference. You can't really feel it. So full upgrades = fastest, but with no difference in feel.

Quote from Intrepid :To be brutally honest if you are struggling to get a budget to merely start kart racing, the prospect of ever being a professional is about 1 in a million actually make in 1 in a billion. I would hazard a guess that 90% of professional racing drivers have come from a privileged background where spending a £100k a year on racing didn't break a sweat

Truth right there.. Professional motorsports are not just about your skills, money is a great factor. But honestly, you don't need to be pro to have fun.

I drive kart when I have time for it myself, and it was a really big investment for me to buy my own kart with engine and everything.. We're talking 3-4000 euro just for a kart. Can't even imagine dropping the money for something bigger

Go for S2, it's very awesome Also, lots of updates in terms of content is awaiting for S2, as far as I know. This isn't the case for S1, although even demo users will get the new tyre physics coming up.

Quote from lukelfs :Lol, I find drifitng kinda hard on a G25 using 720 degress, I can drift pretty well but I find the car way to uncontrolable and slippery, I hope theres some modder out there who will make the drift mode's physics the same as the normal race/timeattack physics somehow , then I would enjoy the drift mode Lol

Just gotta be really gentle I'm on 900 degrees.
Lots of opposite lock, usually only about ½ throttle. Don't bother initiating with the handbrake, you'll probably spin. Just powerslide into it, or brake a bit.

BTW, haven't had an american car yet Just japanese for drifting and european for racing.. How it should be done
Maxed out Porsche Cayman S is crazy fast!! I slammed through tier 2 and 3 with that one car. It beats the tier 3 GT2 by far.

Quote from JJ72 :I don't think it's easy, cos it's so easy to screw up your race due to some noobish AI.

But then again, I always choose the lower power cars, so am often surrounded at the starts.

The AI is screwed up. I basically skipped all races, instead I do time attacks. Drifting is also so easy, I usually have to beat my own score by the end of the event.
I can't believe how stupid the AI is, they always crash and block you.

The game is WAY too easy.. I'm already mid-tier 4 after 2 days of playing at Hard + Pro.. Maybe 5-6 hours total! And a Murcielago LP640 with Works :/
Also, most cars feel almost the same. The biggest differences between cars are the HP/torque and RWD/FWD/AWD!

Quote from Byku :I'm disappointed . The behaviour of cars is an unsuccessful mix of sim and pure arcade . Eh...

Well, actually, it's not so much a mix as it's just arcade. Just because it's harder than usual arcade games doesn not make it more of a sim

Okay, my quick thoughts on the game...

The steering and physics are too unresponsive and lacking in feel. This means you have a hard time being precise in your handling of the car, and BOOM you land on the ass of some other car.

The races are WAY too short to be anything but carnage trying to get 1st - this just adds to the BOOM factor from the last point.

Also, handling 'upgrades'/changes can hardly be felt.. Whats up with that? I basically feel no difference in the handling between the S2000 weighing 1000 kg or 1400 kg.. Huh?!
The FFB is lazy too - my steering response is perfect, but the FFB is delayed..

but on thing they always do right...nice car sounds, thats one thing i still miss in LFS that the car screams at me in high RPM's.

Did you get the latest revolution pack? Some of the new car sounds are pretty awesome <3 the MRT and BF1.
