...castor angle too. You can dial in/out much force feedback through castor angle. Dunno if it's enough to account for what you're experiencing, but it is a lot.

Have you come across https://www.photopea.com/, racer1012? It's almost all of photoshop, for free, in a browser.

There are many setups for specific car/track combos here: https://www.lfs.net/files/setups, and if you ask for a set on the server, you'll often get one sent to you.

Fri, Sat & Sun 20:00UK - LFS Bangers & PiranMOTODestructionDerby Fun Nights
Racon

To keep us all occupied and at least half-sane during these crazy times, the recently deceased LFS Bangers league has been resurrected for an until-further-notice series of Fun Nights to be held on LFS Bangers and PiranMOTODestructionDerby!

On Fridays, 20:00 UK Time on LFS Bangers

Many races in many cars on many small ovals, all with much contact allowed:

You may bump, push, rub, knock and pit-manoeuvre anywhere on the track.

You can follow-in (push a car through through the braking zone and into the wall) and even oppo (wrong-way driving/crashing) at corners, but, you should not cause another car to be destroyed completely or leave the track on purpose. You may not drive the wrong way on the straights.

Please note: The point is to take people out for long enough to get past, not for the whole race Wink It's a lot more fun - and requiring of a lot more skill - to push past a car without taking them out completely, and then defending against them returning the favour. Grudges are perfectly fine, just keep them within the rules - another reason to only use the force you need to pass Wink

On Saturdays and Sundays, 20:00 UK Time on PiranMOTODestructionDerby

Many races in many cars on many stunt-type tracks, all with all contact allowed. "Just win" Thumbs up

On this server if you end up upside-down you can be flipped back onto your wheels by using the command '!flip'. You must be still, and damage will not be repaired.

PLEASE NOTE: These are all at 20:00 UK Time - UK clocks go forward one hour on 29th March! This Sunday's event will be 23 hours after this Saturday's.

Quote from JSHuiting :...as only the physics really stand out compared to the competition...

This is what frustrates me so much about it. It's a simulation, only the physics matters as far as I'm concerned. Shrug

I can't find anything through searching to check, but I thought it was to do with countering the tyre approximations used independently for each particular car. Smoothing out the wrinkles around the edges, so to speak. I can't say for sure.

Quote from 5tag :Is that a fact? Because I don't really understand it. Scawen is working to update tyre physics, which apply to all cars the same. I always thought this was LFS's unique characteristic that there was no trickery going on, trying to correct a simplistic physics model to make it "feel right" to drive. I mean I can imagine that car *setups* will need some adjustment in terms of ARBs, diffs, brake bias, tyre pressure and so on... but the cars themselves?

Shrug That's what I remember of what he said once.

Yeah, Scawen has said before that we won't get any new cars before the physics update, because the cars all had to be tweaked to fit the current physics. All the cars we have now will need work to fit the new physics, and he doesn't want to have to do that work twice.

The fact we have that 3rd decimal place in LFSWorld suggests that Scawen is hoping to be able to refine to thousands at some point...

All good for disk space, something to do with multiple instances open maybe - I shut the others down and restarted the last one, all good.

Get well soon jkat Thumbs up

I've been longing for some LFS multiclass racing, driving or spectating, for literally years. My fingers are firmly crossed Thumbs up

Please note that the multi-class vote is split over 3-options, but it's still higher than the single-class vote Wink (at time of posting)

I stumbled across this and thought it'd be good to have posted here for reference. It shows beautifully the difference in perceived speed at different field-of-view settings.

Yes, same thing for wifi, but with one extra complication.

If you're using wifi, by default you'll get a new local IP address for your laptop every time your wifi reconnects, and you'd have to change the port forwarding to match it each time.

You should be able to get around this by setting up your laptop to always request a fixed IP address when it connects, or setting up your router to always give the same IP address to that laptop. (search google for "DHCP fixed IP" along with your laptop or router model)

The IP you need the traffic to end up at is the IP of the PC running Dcon - find it by running a dos box, typing "ipconfig" and looking for "IPv4 Address" (it'll usually be 192.168.0.something).

Make sure you forward both TCP and UDP packets.
