Websites covering racing

So i'd like to get some more websites covering racing. Anything good will do, but tech stuff would be the best. I know of Racecar Engineering, it's awesome but there could be a bit more updates. I'm also aware of Planet Le Mans. So some more sites would be useful. Something covering WTCC, rally (WRC), also looking at the tech side, if it exists.

Quote from MAGGOT :Whoops, my mistake. Good catch. I hadn't realised that it was Ortelli in the Porsche, either. Guess he likes his air miles...

Noticed that too in the vid. 2nd flight after 10 years

Quote from Forbin :Shifter on the left, rear brake on the right (unless it's a vintage Brit bike ). In general, you don't need to use much rear brake on a race bike anyway, at least in straightline braking. It can be useful mid-corner for minor line changes, though. Body control and feel from the pegs are bigger issues.

Ah, so the shifter is on the left. Thought it's on the right. I know the rest.

Well with it being expensive nobody will make the cars. Or maybe only 2 manufacturers, which is enough to try to outdesign eachother. THat raises the costs. And with only 2 manufacturers it's not really interesting. Well, ATM we have 3. So yeah. Being cheaper there's a bigger chance that there will be more cars out there. There are 307s or 207s (whichever, don't really car ), Puntos and Clios in S2000/S1600. As much competition as in WRC right there. Add the JWRC C2 and Swift and you have 5 different (though in 2 classes) cars.

Is the shifter or the rear brake on the right? Shifter aye? That's a bit of a problem. If they would swap out the brake and the shifter it would prolly be easier, though then you have to reacustom yourself and it'd be impossible to shift when standing, stepping down with the right on the other hand would prolly cause pains...

Quote from de Souza : Any ideas? Can a malfunctioning CPU kill other components?

No, it was not me =p

So no, it wasn't him.

THe big majority of the aftermarket body kits do nothing to affect aerodynamics, at least not on a visible scale. A splitter will do much more, since it will cut the air more efficiently and force it over the top and speed up the (less of it) air under car lowering the pressure thus sucking the car down. Yes, the spoilr on the back does make a big difference, especially at high speeds. But i just can not imagine the XRT without it. Call me a rice boy, i don't care, i know i'm not.

About the drifting, i did it for over 2 years (started at the end of 2003, on Xmas, with a keyboard, got a wheel and S2 in spring 2004). I quit just because of the thing you say you know very well - the society. Everybody wants body kits, mroe power, more steering angle, better tires, etc. Why can all the old school guys drift like nothing happened? Oh, nothing did happen. And they just pwn. That's the thing. Take a look at CObalt BLue for example (used to be in nsane, dunno where he's now). Take a look at some SWC (if they still exist) or Saiko D guys. THey did the things the same 3 years ago.

As far as i know, the R34 GTR is FAR from made for drifting. If you mean the R34 Skyline series maybe, but i doubt any car was made specificaly to drift. Modified yes, designed from the ground up, doubt it. And the GTR is more or less undriftable (at least it goes against it) with it's 4WD system and rear wheel steering and other stuff like that.

Cardboard box? That's just rice then. And you want the aerodynmacis being affected by the kit - why would you put a box there then? It will only cause mroe drag. But in reality most of the kits won't change the aerodynamics that much or at least it wont be noticable. Same goes for the rear spoiler. And IMO the XRT would look stupid without it - look at the XRG. Different people and different oppinions but IMO a nice lip on the back really makes a car.

Never saw the problem drifting a bone stock XRT to be honest... The LX (both of them) are driftable too but you need some skill. Never was a fan of the FZ but a lot of people use that too. And mind you, 2 years ago i quit drifting. So i think i know a thing or two about it, don't you?

They want an XRR with 45° of lock and super long lasting road supers.

Quote from swisscosmo :but have those cars rufly the same power as the current GTR's becuase there both conciderd Sports Cars so they would be in the Sports Car Racing Championships and then you could have a true LFS World Sports Car Racing Championships!

The prototypes would (and are) way faster even at the same power since they ar elighter and have more grip (and are thus faster in corners). So there's no point in having them as powerfull as GTRs. Up the ante on the GTRs, make that GT1, make these GT2, forget the UFR and XFR for endurance racing, add the prototypes and enjoy the Masters of Endurance streams.

Nah, 2 destroyed cars but it would in my opinion be less dramatic afterwards. After all he did some kartwheels further down the grass and stopped in the armco.

Correction, YOU what to see a Veyron. I'd much rather see some more touring cars of any kind (racing ones ofcourse).

It's all like LEGO anyway... Unless you start to overclock, cool with liquid nitrogen, do some voltage modifications, etc. etc. So yeah, it's all like LEGO.

So basicly what you want is all cars to be faster, easier to drive and easier to drift? See, only one row and you used 10 or so. Bad use of virtual space...

I'm interested in that too. Haven't seen the option in nVidia drivers.

Do you have hidden files and folders set to be shown? If not, set it to be shown and viola, i think it should work.

Quote from tristancliffe :I think it is a bug - a detail missed when Blackwood was resized. It should be closed, but it's a shame that some people take advantage of it - even with no barriers on the track I'd never consider cutting the chicane to gain time. Maybe I'm a dying breed of 'Gentleman LFS Driver'?

I would cut a chicane - when having fun and crashing with mates and stuff. In a proper race, never. Maybe by accident (if i was thrown over the first kerb so i'd be half a meter inside with the outer tires) or if there was someone who wouldn't give room (which happened twice in T1 today on CTRA S1 server). But in a real lapping situation, never. THere was a guy on CTRA a long time ago (when there were no barriers) that was lapping about as fast as me. Gold rev was the track (both today and back then). But he was going straight in the first chicane and i was doing it properly.
