This! I really don't want to turn this into a suggestion topic, but I've had the exact same thoughts back then when we first saw the new SO at night! Maybe with a really loose and random light switchoffs/ons in the buildings' windows just as a slight creative touch/detail
It might be a long shot, but besides forwarding ports on router, did you also do that in your computers firewall configuration (if you have any firewall/antivirus software installed)?
I think that shouldn't be a problem, cause for example when you enter the Shift+U mode, the occlusion would automatically no longer be based on driver's view, but rather on the view of free cam (or occlusion disabled completely, but that would be a performance hit for sure).
I loved reading all the techincal details and watching the demo videos, thanks for those South City looks really detailed now, awesome, keep the good work up!
Download some from the Files section of LFS.net: https://www.lfs.net/files/setups . Place these files to LFS/data/setups. After that, you should see it pop up in the top-right corner of Pits/Garage screen.
Ask someone to send you a setup in-game (this is done through the SS "Send Setup" / green S "Save setup" buttons on the connection list)
Create a new one for yourself (click "New Setup" in the top-right corner in Pits). There are guides on the LFSManual to help you create setups: https://en.lfsmanual.net/wiki/Basic_Setup_Guide
Hi! LFS shouldn't lock itself after not playing it (as far as I know), so there might be some problem with disk read/write permissions? Just a wild guess, cause it does not seem usual. Also, the fact that it suddenly can't connect to the server is a bit weird, as it's online and working (downtime is very rare nowadays, fortunately). Something must have happened on the PC since you last played?
I've had this issue when I was using my mobile data to play online some months ago. Sometimes. It was quite random and usually, after trying to connect 5 or 6 times, I could connect successfully. Couldn't figure out why, but it must be the mobile data network, I guess, as it's the mutual fact here.
Update 0.8
New in 0.8, Server browser is now available! (only basic functionality of listing servers, features like sorting soon, hopefully)
Numerous improvements were made to Friends list: colored server names, "last seen" information and slight design and functional changes.
Server/host names are colored now in the app. Input of usernames is now easier: friends get listed on a drop-down menu when you start typing their username.
A bug mentioned in the previous update post (regarding friends page updating) is now fixed and friends statuses now update even when you opted out of getting notifications.
Donating via Paypal in-app is now also possible.
New screenshots included in the original post: server browser, friends page, online racer stats and the drawer menu.
Please try it out, and as always, if there are any crashes, please post feedback here. I hope you enjoy the new features and the app overall.
Download the new version in the attachments of original post.
Changes:
0.8 (06/07/2020) - NEW: Server browser (Online hosts - basic functionality) - NEW: Coloring for host names (incl. Friends page, Server browser and Online Racer Stats pages) - NEW: "Last seen" time for each offline friend (Friends page) - NEW: Friends' usernames show on a drop-down list for easier input (Hotlaps by Racer, Online Racer Stats pages) - NEW: In-app PayPal donation (using PayPal REST API) - Fixed Friends page never updating when Notifications were disabled - Adding a user to Friends list multiple times no longer possible - Fixed the recognition of some track names - Reordered preferences in Settings to better reflect function (background update vs. notifications) - Minor layout changes
EDIT: [FIXED IN 0.8.2] I just discovered a crash, when there are no friends added to the friends list. The crash happens on Racer Stats and Hotlaps by Racer pages. The next version will contain a fix, until then, please add a single friend to the Friends list to avoid crashing.

Thanks for trying it! New version 0.8 is coming soon.
Actually, in my test version I prepared a language selector menu, but decided to develop more features before translating the app. Despite that, thank you for mentioning it and offering help, I'll make sure to get back to you!
Hi! Something happened to the new and awesome feature of the homepage (the "league events today" part). For today's B2R OWS race it shows Round 1 while on the Leagues page it's Round 5, correctly. It might be a bug, no idea. Attached a screenshot.
EDIT: just noticed, the GUM event has the opposite - shows Round 5 while it's Round 1. It might have mixed up the two events' round numbers?
Basically, we have one or more events every day through the week: https://www.lfs.net/leagues/calendar . Some of them are less popular, some of them are full-server-popular every week (like the FM GTi Thursday or Fox Friday).
