Something to add, might help: during the races of last days, I've had server joining hang on skin downloads couple of times (I press Alt+F4 so on the next try it joins fine), but when joined, most of the cars are just plain white (like if I turned skin downloads off in-client, but I didn't: I was using the 512 option all the time).

I also do my best to report spam and I don't recall any spam to remain on the forums for more than 6-12 hours, so I think it's not a problem on the forum at the moment (mods seem to do their jobs, also, if they won't be able to handle it, they can always recruit more mods).

Though I like the suggestion, but as @neonmateo pointed out, it's not really okay to restrict new players from for example seeking help. Imagine they have an installation or unlocking issue: they won't be able to ask for help here (on the official forums!), and since they can't go online to drive the required distance, in the end they can't get help. There might be a way around this: make only one forum visible (e.g. Technical Assistance), and when they have 5-10kms on the record, open up the whole forum. Note, this might concentrate all spam into the technical assistance forum - that's not good either.

I still don't think the spamming issue is that huge right now.

For the last 3-4 weeks I also noticed skin downloading errors, both on my client and also heard from others on servers that there are skin download issues. I also got stuck on joining servers, while LFS was attempting to download a skin.

I thought it's just temporary but after the last month, it's getting frustrating There might be a problem with the skin delivery server?

In Options - Screen, you can change between various Windows/Fullscreen modes. This also can be done with a keyboard shortcut: press Shift + F10 to get into fullscreen mode.

This! I really don't want to turn this into a suggestion topic, but I've had the exact same thoughts back then when we first saw the new SO at night! Maybe with a really loose and random light switchoffs/ons in the buildings' windows just as a slight creative touch/detail

It might be a long shot, but besides forwarding ports on router, did you also do that in your computers firewall configuration (if you have any firewall/antivirus software installed)?

I think that shouldn't be a problem, cause for example when you enter the Shift+U mode, the occlusion would automatically no longer be based on driver's view, but rather on the view of free cam (or occlusion disabled completely, but that would be a performance hit for sure).

I loved reading all the techincal details and watching the demo videos, thanks for those South City looks really detailed now, awesome, keep the good work up!

If you mean getting car setups, you can:

1. Download some from the Files section of LFS.net: https://www.lfs.net/files/setups . Place these files to LFS/data/setups. After that, you should see it pop up in the top-right corner of Pits/Garage screen.
   
2. Ask someone to send you a setup in-game (this is done through the SS "Send Setup" / green S "Save setup" buttons on the connection list)
   
3. Create a new one for yourself (click "New Setup" in the top-right corner in Pits). There are guides on the LFSManual to help you create setups: https://en.lfsmanual.net/wiki/Basic_Setup_Guide

Hi! LFS shouldn't lock itself after not playing it (as far as I know), so there might be some problem with disk read/write permissions? Just a wild guess, cause it does not seem usual. Also, the fact that it suddenly can't connect to the server is a bit weird, as it's online and working (downtime is very rare nowadays, fortunately). Something must have happened on the PC since you last played?
