What kind of times are you guys getting in the F2 at Spa in the rain? I'm running 3:53s in the EVE I think... relatively consistent times over a lap but always a few bobbles here and there in each lap. I know I'm not the fastest but I'm curious to see if I'm even average.

I'm not sure what I'm doing in the dry, but the rain is just too much fun to go back to the boring old sunshine.

Downloaded it at the office today (shhh, don't tell my boss!) and if I'm lucky I'll get a little seat time in this weekend. We'll see...

Possibly What are your rates? I want to build something more advanced than simple HTML, but I know nothing of PHP and CSS scripting so I'd have to teach myself before I could build my own site.

I think I'm ok on the portfolio pieces front, just have to package everything and market myself properly... It's tough, though, with pretty much no spare time as it is. Would be easier if I were unemployed (though I doubt my landlord would agree lol)

I really gotta get myself in gear and get a proper website up. My current quickly-hashed-together-for-my-thesis-show website just ain't gunna cut it to bring in new inquiries. Maybe I should hit up the Canadian Motorsports Expo as well...

I think I need to put some eggs under the lead foot, started over 10 races on spa without seeing la source even once until I had to cheat and select invulnerability. Ill keep that setting until I know the track at least.

First verdict: Very nice.

Took me a couple laps to get 'round the end without going off, and several tries at a race to get around. Mostly got pulled into wrecks by the AI, or I'd rear-end someone going much slower than they should have been. The AI still doesn't like driving in a pack, but it isn't as bad as rF1 IIRC in that regard.

I really want to do some more racing...

We got some snow yesterday, nothing too much, just about an inch or two I think. Almost all gone now... it's +7C today. In January. In Canada.

Got a chance to do some more laps, and a quick race at Spa in the F2... What a blast. Did a wet weather race... was really hairy in some areas where there was a torrential downpour and not in others. Kept me on my toes.

I tried the Megane as well and it felt like rF1 to me. No feel at all in the steering and randomly steps out sometimes? There must be some settings I need to tweak, I must have a different experience than you guys with that car.

Your buses are so much nicer than ours...

I've watched the first three days of Monte, but only tangentially. I was doing some contract work from home at the time so I didn't give my full attention... I don't like Eurosport's coverage. I prefer the OneHD stuff I usually watch.

I recently finished reading The Limit: Life and Death on the 1961 Grand Prix Circuit. Was a decent read. After I finish reading another book my girlfriend gave me for Christmas I'm going to start reading The Art of Racing in the Rain, which is only tangentially related to racing, I guess.

They just feel.. bland. I don't know how to describe it, but I just find it kind of ugly to look at. Models feel a little low poly (I didn't look for tessellation so they may not be, but I get that impression) and the car body shaders look more like a weird fake gloss from a CAD program than a nice gloss. I don't really know how to put it into words, but I just don't find it to be an attractive looking sim. I find LFS to be much more attractive... at least at South City and Blackwood, anyways. I can't really put my finger on it.

Performance for me is fine, but I've had my new computer for like 8 months and it's fairly quick so I'd be pissed if I had FPS issues. I also had to turn off HDR because the road surface was pure white. I'll have to look into that.

Finally got a chance to do a couple laps last night. Above all, what I learned, was that I would have died many, many times over had I been a driver back in the 60s.

It was fun, though. I enjoyed the old cars on a track far more detailed than what we have in GPL. I have a lot of knock in my steering wheel, though. I've done the suggested torque setting in the player ini as per the thread on the rF forums, but there's still a lot of hard pull on the wheel in some bumps while the rest of the FFB feels a little flat by comparison. Hopefully I'll get a chance to do some more driving sometime soon and then I can dig a little and sort out my FFB.

Graphically it's ugly, imho. Really just not good, but if I can get the FFB working well and enough 60s content is released for it I think I'll be satisfied with my purchase. Does anyone know if more 60s content is planned from ISI or just have to wait for third party stuff?

Has anyone started sorting out new paint schemes for any of the cars? Now I'm itching to give my "Frankenstein" a new look. (Brownie points for anyone who catches the Death Race 2000 reference!)

I'll be at the ALMS round at Mosport, probably the Toronto Indy as well. I'll also make it out to Watkins Glen for either the Indycars or the vintage weekend. As far as telecasts go, I'll catch all the WRC and probably some V8s.
