Quote from Dennis93 :Just tell her, if she doesn't listen, she's not worth it.

endo' story.

... She's not worth it if she doesn't want to be controlled? That's idiotic. I'd much prefer an independent woman that I can trust than a slave who will go behind your back.

Quote from Sobis :+1. Don't know the situation, I would try to contact her best friends (girls) and ask if your gf talks about that guy and if she does, what. But then again, I don't know the situation fully so it may not be an option.

As said, terrible idea. Never air dirty laundry with her friends; even if they're mutual friends. Ever.

Quote from Sobis :That's why I told that I don't know the situation fully and that could be not an option. For example in my case it would be an option, but I'm not going deeper into this.

The situation is 100% irrelevant. They're her friends. They're going to tell her. End of story.

Quote from mamoru :Ask her what the deal is with him and if you don't want her to see him anymore, tell her. She seems like the girl that understands and will do so if she really likes you.

Yes, because everyone loves to date someone who's controlling. That was stupid. Never, ever tell the person you're with that they can't be friends with someone. If you're that worried about them, then there are bigger issues. Either you don't trust them, or you honestly think they'd rather be with someone else.

If you don't trust them, then it's your problem, you deal with it. If they'd rather be with someone else, then let them be with someone else. Don't be a douche.

That should have been the first commandment: "Thou shalt not be a douche."

Quote from Matrixi :I don't get it. So you admit PCARS physics are a failure in their current state, but say they will be fixed in future? What guarantee do you have on this, Ian Bells word? I just don't get it how PCARS gets forgiven everything on the promise of "oh, it'll all be fixed in the future" exactly like with War Z. We are discussing how it feels AT THE MOMENT, isn't that the whole point of testing unfinished games?

And at the moment, the stuff that has gotten attention is pretty good. Like the Z4 GT3, for instance.

Quote :One thing I have to say, is that PCARS do have the most avid fanboys I've ever seen in any sim though, even going well beyond the LFS fans of the old times. Go to their forums and it's almost hilarious how blindly they defend it from any naysayers. But hey, if you enjoy it, then good for you. I certainly am NOT happy with it in its current state, if that makes me a hater, so be it.

I'd disagree, actually. I find that rF and iR have the worst fanboys. And at its peak, LFS wasn't too far behind. pCARS community in general is pretty good, but of course, there will be some slipups. It's got its fanboys, but I wouldn't consider them to be the most zealous of the lot.

Quote from cargame.nl :Oh.. My... God...

That is a much worse video then the E30 one. It looks like crap. Waiting on the first person who makes a side by side video of this and an onboard lap of a real RUF on the real Nordschleife.

.

What part of placeholder physics can't you grasp? I'm not going to champion for something that's done wrong, but in this case it just hasn't been done yet. That's a low blow, dude.

Quote from Matrixi :I think a lot of people who paid for it (myself included) did so because surprisingly many people in sim forums said it's actually decent. What I think is really happening, is that a lot of those people who bought it early are actually in buyers remorse and trying to convince themself, and others that this thing actually has some promise of delivering a good sim. The exact same thing was happening with the whole War Z scandal, yet there's still people out there who lost their money claiming it's all great, money well spent, nothing wrong at all, everything will be fixed in the future.

In hindsight, I wish I had followed common sense and not paid any attention to PCARS, since Slightly Mad have zero track record as of yet at delivering anything realistic at all. Sure all devs have to start from somewhere, but when you base your racing simulator on the NFS Shift engine without scrapping the physics code, you're going ass backwards in to a cactus. It pains me so much to see ISR advertise PCARS to be "right up there" with actual proper sims, making more people buy in to it.

If anyone is tempted in paying for PCARS because someone somewhere has said it's cooking up to be a great simulator, all I can say is don't do it, if you want something even remotely sim-like. It might turn out to be some kind of a Forza competitor for the PC, but this is not the sim you're looking for.

Honestly, a few weeks ago the Z4 GT3 was the best GT car I'd ever driven in a sim. It got a little worse with some tweaks but the whole thing is still evolving.

Not everything in it is good right now. Some stuff might never be, who knows. But it really isn't nearly as bad as you're making it out to be. It's already better than rF1 ever was and before iR made it big, rF was the defacto racing sim (not me personally, but that's beside the point).

Given that BBT and Tristan are liking it so far, I'm encouraged to give it a try. Is there any cutoff to download it? I know I have to pick up nKPro before the end of the month but what about the tech preview? I'm going to be very busy this week and probably won't get a chance to try it until next weekend more than likely (super busy with work, AND we're moving offices.. Ugh..).

You're being punished for the hacking attempts of others!

I'm pretty keen to give it a go, but I doubt I'll have time in the next few weeks. I never did get around to nabbing nKPro, either. If I find myself with some time in the next weeks I'll get it and then the tech preview, but I'm not holding my breath.

Hearing that it feels a lot like LFS is very good. LFS was always so good with the FFB...

Quote from JJ72 :Besides liveries I have finally moved close to the real money makers......

1. I am doing a full merchandise range design for Moscow Raceway, it's 20+ items and the company behind the race track is loaded.... With this job I will get closer to doing something for Sochi GP....if that lands too. I can afford to do only 2 projects a year.

2. Another project that is VERY VERY COOL - You know the company Singer design that does retro porsches right? I will be doing a coffee table sized book for them, it's such a cool brand to associate with and the blokes there are really nice, I sense this will be a start for another fruitful partnership.

A lot is happening!

That's awesome! Congrats, mate!

Quote from BlueFlame :Well I've read the equation as it's written not how some method dictates it should be solved.

So you be the judge of who is wrong.

Fact of the matter is, someone taught you something and told you and you took is as gospel, not my fault if people are blind to thinking outside of their tiny minds.

There's probably 90% of the people who commented couldn't even work out the equation on their own anyway, but they chime in here trying to look smart. At the end of the day, algebra is retarded, if you're retarded enough to need to substitute numbers for alternate symbols because you can't hold anything in your brain for more than 3seconds then you probably need some retarded method.

I am being the judge of who is wrong. And you, sir, are wrong.

And no, you did not "solve" the equation based on how it was written. You incorrectly guessed what it meant. Math is not some faith-based witchcraft that you either believe in or don't, it's not something that you can 'take as gospel,' it's a very distinct pattern of relationships. That's it. There is no grey area for interpretation, it is what it is.

... And what it is, is 45.

Quote from BlueFlame :Well that's what BS this all is Dustin, you hit the nail on the head. Numbers don't change and they shouldn't but the way some people get taught is to effectively make up variables in an equation that don't even exist on the paper they are reading from.

Actually, the way people get taught is that you don't make up your own rules in math. You are wrong. So, so wrong. Almost unbelievably wrong.

It's called balancing the equation. The variable is the thing you are solving for. That equals sign means that everything that comes before it is equal to what comes after it. 290 does not equal 360/4. It just doesn't. Therefore, you must divide the product of 360/4 by 2 to get the answer for the variable.

For the record, math doesn't change. It doesn't matter if you learned it in 1850 or in 2013; math is simply relationships between variables. Always has been, always will be. You saying it's wrong is like saying that a triangle actually has 5 sides, not 3 sides, because having 3 sides now makes it a turtleneck. From 1850.

A 2 beside a variable means that variable is multiplied by the 2. In the same way that a question mark at the end of a sentence means that the sentence is a question. Or do you not believe in questions, either? Maybe to you a question mark means Spatula.

Quote from JJ72 :Maths is the only truly universal language, saying it is bullshit is well.....pretty blueflame.

Along the same lines; does anyone know why that some MKV files get progressively more and more out of sync while watching them? This doesn't affect all MKVs, just some of them, but it happens on both my TV (which plays files from USB), PS3 and my PC with some files. As they play, they get more and more out of sync. I have to fast-forward a little bit to re-sync the sound, but it goes off again as it plays after that too.

Quote from Bose321 :I feel exactly the same about the 920. I just love it so much...

The only thing that's putting me off from buying it is WP8. Don't get me wrong, I adore the new interface and the overall looks from the UI, but the apps that are available are scaring me off.

Every time you see a cool app, on TV or internet for example, it always says "Available in The iStore (Or whatever they call it) and Google Play", I never seen a modern app that was available on Windows Phone. Now I'm not exactly that app-heavy, and I believe the 920 comes with awesome apps pre-installed, but still I'm afraid it's kinda 'useless' in that way.

I recently got into the rooting and modding Android phones, and I just have to say that's a lot of fun to do, but stability is not as high as something WP8 and iOS I think. (That goes for CM Nightlies, the stable CM releases are...well...stable. :razz

I'm still really in doubt. Would the lack of apps really be a concern, or even the general support (docks and such)?

And as I can recall the Lumia 920 doesn't really excel in speed and battery performance, does it?

I can't speak to the 920, but I LOVE my HTC 8X. The app ecosystem on WP8 hasn't bothered me at all yet; but I'm not an app whore anyways. The only complaint I have is that the hard buttons are flush with the case so hard to find by finger feel alone. That's about the only real gripe I have. Aside from that, this phone is fan-bloody-tastic. It's so responsive, too. Always very quick. Beats the crap out of the iPhone imho.

Quote from Crashgate3 :Arch Enemy - Under Black Flags We March

Goddammit, why has it taken me this long to buy my second Arch Enemy album? They are awesome.

I remember them. I also remember the lead singer saying how she loved performing on stage because her growls vibrated her nether regions and it felt nice.

Quote from Bose321 :Fun fact: it's actually the bullets that come out the guns that kill people.

Well, really, it's that the brain doesn't get any oxygen anymore after the blood stops pumping into it; either by heart failure or by draining out that huge hole in your body. That's what kills you.

Stop hatin' on the bullets, man.

They should have kicked you out. That's your own damn fault. While the system, in many ways, is incredibly screwed up, this is one instance where it has worked. Stop being an idiot and maybe you'll get somewhere.

Quote from tristancliffe :Does the wet weather reduce the grip, or is it merely visual. Soon laps of Zolder in the Caterham suggests visual only.

I also find the physics are acceptable on the low powered cars, but utterly rubbish above 200hp.

Visual only for the moment. It seems to me like they're just focussing on dry weather then moving onto wet weather once that's mostly sorted.

It really is strange coming up to a corner in the pouring rain and forgetting that you have all the grip you had in the dry...
