thanks for the feedback, i just wanted to see not biased opinions because the guy who did this car is from my country and here this bunch of fanboys are like crazy because of this car...

A friend of mine criticized the car saying the design is a cheap copy of the mclaren F1 (and f.ck yeah it is!) and he got a tsunami of offensive comments against him like "when you make your own car you can talk"...and the fact is, my friend study car design in europe and he made a concept draw for the mclaren, and hell yeah it was good (if you want to see it, request in a response)

so, thanks guys, i just was thinking im a hater because the car (kit car for real) is not that great and he wants to make it looks like the shit

ok here I go, my current PC is kinda dead, and is already old (2008) im trying to get a new PC that could make me enjoy for the next 4 or 5 years

my first target is the processor, changing from an ancient intel dual core e2200 @ 2.2ghz, and moving to a somewhat intel i7 @ 3ghz+...


thing is, I have been always around 2.xx ghz processors, and I want for the first time in my life get to some 3ghz power....

Im looking for video editing and capturing video footage from lfs is for me one of the hardest task to do, due to low fps rates and the lack of processing power in the CPU..



so, looking and asking, one of my friends suggest me to get a 1156 i7 processor, somewhat @ 2.7 ghz, he told me "is not all about ghz, is about how the cpu uses them"... ok but...

after several minutes of WIKIPEding (wikipedia) i read so many differences between motherboards sockets, and processors that im stuck now


I already said my target with the processor, now I dont know wich motherboard to use, im interested in one motherboard that offers me at least 10 gb of ram DDR3 (to upgrade it with the time) and more than 2 memory ram slots, i hate to get just 2 memory ram slots

and that is, I dont have a clue about wich video card to choose but with my limited budget, my plan is get the computer part by part and complete it before the end of this year..


help me please im searching on amazon.com and im not living at USA, and in my country the prices of every computer part is more expensive than USA, so my GF is travelling next week there and i want to take this chance to buy the processor or the motherboard, what you suggest me?

I dont have a clue about sockets 1155 or 1156 or 1133, dont know wich one would be the best for me, I dont have a clue please help

ummm Im worried about the high voltage that fried my capacitors, what if it did some damage to the hard disc drives or video card?? Is this a thing to be worried about or the M.B. will fried itself to protect video cards, memory ram cards and disc drives?

I think my MB is causing troubles because i had to quit a ram card (from two) to get the windows up, so i think is not a very reliable M.B. since the warranty is out (3 years, i have it since 2008, is a zotac) plus the capacitors issue

In that way it could be the MB (memory ram slots?+ capacitors were replaced since they get blown) so i think maybe the M.B. has something wrong

besides, the Power supply, i need to change it, im running with 3 internal hard disc drives (for real) and now i need to plug another one (yeah, inside) so i think changing the powersupply and the motherboard should fix the problems of my LFS getting weird and windows getting crash!

The processor, is weak, i need another one

wich one would you suggest? I think i can find processors with dual core @ 3ghz for less than 100us$

look, i bought a nvidia 9500GT, my processor is an intel dual core e2200 (2.2ghz)

i was running with 3 gb of ram (ddr2), but my computer somehow is a mess now...

i think is the powersupply but my motherboard blew a pair of capacitors (due to electrical problems maybe) and now i need to RE-BORN this CPU...

Im not sure if my videocard gets damaged from the electrical issue but what i can tell you is, i get lower FPS than before, i can see objects appearing and dissappearing while racing (tires, cones, segments of walls) and this sucks!!

I remember getting 80 fps with all the settings to the max, with a nice amount of cars in the grid and all!

My windows crashed severaltimes (windows xp and 7, this is unbelievable!)...with crashed i mean reinstalling the O.S. as the only solution...

so i think i shall change my motherboard along with my powersupply (370W) because motherboard´s capacitors are the main suspects....

please, help, im a video editor and need smooth FPS rates at lfs while im recording with FRAPS...

im looking for some combo (processor+video card) that could get me to the 100fps or more with all settings at max...

my budget is around...100 us$ and im considering to sell my video card and processor to reduce the cost,and selling my crappy powersupply too..

what do you suggest me?

pd: i noticed that my processor kinda limits my video card but since my video card is like a mess (i even saw a car with no textures while racing, WTF was that? it was like all plain in the way to get rendered!!) so, i think my video card must be damaged or am i wrong?)

I need to know with wich one i could enjoy the most with games of ps3 and xbox 360 and use it with my computer too, i dont know if hdtv with vga compatibility could deliver a nice visual experience just like monitors do..

what do you say?
objects and lines dissappearing while replaying?

hey, whats up? this only happens to me? when im seeing replays, and using shift+U to see awesome views, i can see a bunch of objects and lines of the track dissappearing and appearing, why this happens?

Objects like cones, the track lines, even segments of walls, why this happens? what can I do to avoid it? please help >_<

edit: OK i just figured it out that this happens when im racing too >_<... why?! WHY!?

yess!!!!!! i have good news!! i made it!! 34 secs using RACE S!! it was during racing in AA server or something like that, i know it could be a little cheating drafting someone but im pretty sure i can do it without drafting...

so just to proof myself i went to the "hotlapping" and with a full tank of gas i managed to get 35´s with the race S setup.


i was trying to record it with fraps but it seems windows 7 requires more Processor power than win xp and it doesnt matter if i have a "decent" graphic card, my processor is limiting my computer performance (fraps is recording at 5 FPS meanwhile i play lfs at 35-70 FPS with the graphics at the max.

i will let you the SPR file and the Setup file because some friends of mine dont have the race S setup (lol)

wow man this is awesome i feel like being used to more advanced setups really improve your driving!!

i will upload one hotlapping but with less gas on the tank (maybe 5%)and pushing it the hardest i can (until my hands hurts) to see what happens, good night!!

back in the day when i register my account, i used keyboard and my stupid PC didnt give more than 25 fps with minimum graphics settings...

believe me when i tell you, FPS make such a change in the experience with LFS....

later i understand that with keyboard and that stupid PC i wouldnt have a chance, it was dramatic so i stay inactive for long time..

in that long time i was playing with forza series and i realized how much i like racing, i dont care if i lose i just want racing, in real life too i get an old car and start trying to improve my driving (using less steering work, looking how weight transfer helps you to turn faster, and so on)

i even feel LFS harder than the real thing! (you dont feel the G´s, with keyboard there is no feedback from the tyres (literally).

and at the end of 2010 i wanted to become active in lfs because i get a xbox controller and man this experience is so much better than the keyboard, i respect keyboard warrriors but carpian tunnel syndrome is right at the corner if you always use keyboard


and my goal this year is getting a g27 but i was waiting for S3 to buy that combo (g27+S3), S3 seems like never will be released

hey, forum (RWJ´s style) hehe, i was messing around with some buddies, i saw someone called stig (i know there is a lot of stigs in the lfs world) but man they send me some setups and inmediatly my Average Best goes down to 1:34!!!

my experience tells me, killing almost all the oversteering helps to cut time, some oversteering is good along the braking because it helps to get the clipping point too.

i can see some changes in the differentials, but dont have so much knowledge to explain it. i think a good FWD differential is one like the integra DC2 TYPE R, it is so SWEET (stock)!

damn, but i love to race in a competitive way, i mean everybody with the same exactly car (setup included), to be a driver Vs driver and not setup vs setup =(

well, i think i must live with this, what bother me is people asking for setups before they have reached the top performance of the default setups

i like to adapt to the car, i dislike to adapt the car to me

hey, im in a big dilema...
personally i dont know how to make setups property, i just love to test diferents setups i dont give a crap about who made them..

the thing is, for example, wich "RACE S" setup i feel more confort than "hard track" because something tells me that "hard track" is better with a wheel (im using a xbox controller)...

i have been trying to get into the 1:34.xxx range in blackwood with the xfg using RACE S...i think is possible, the closest i get was 1:35.02, i dont calculate the fuel i always use 10% for 5 laps.

my question is, a lot of people say the default setups sucks, but i find them very good for endurance (the relation between good average laps and tire preserving)

when im online, i think im the only one using default setups...

can somebody tells me reference times with default setups? example "hot lap" or "racing laps time" because everybody know is not the same doing a hot lap that racing for about 20 laps...

if you ask me, i dislike using setups instead i know without them is almost impossible to win in a competitive race, it would be awesome if LFS gives you an option to make servers where modified setups are not allowed and that stupid racing line (4) is disabled, that would be close racing everybody with the same setup and fuel..


so, i think is very possible make 1:34.xxx with RACE s on the XFG, because i cant do a "heel and toe braking" due to my controller limit (this thing just use one axis for brake and accelerator lol) and i could swear if i could do it i would cut at least 0.5 secs maybe 0.8... what do you say people?

@ mauni: i think the fxo is faster in the tbo class but i dont know if it drivetrain (FWD) kill it at endurance races?

hey, whats up?, i was checking out the W.R. chart and just see how close are the RAC, LX6 and the FZ25, i think they are closer in terms of lap times than the TBO combo..

my question is, is not unfair to race with this 3 cars combo (RAC/LX6/FZ25)?

And this combo has a name or something?

hey guys, i was wondering about if i could know in wich ranges of rpms a car can brake better while braking and downshifting..

i usually see torque band concept, powerband concept, but i think there must be a "brake power band" concept because in the same way you can make better acceleration shifting in the right rpm range of torque/power band, it must be a range of rpm where you could brake better while downshifting...

i google it but didnt see any revelant info, so, guys, am i crazy or i have some right in this topic?

i wish to know a way to get that info for braking performance, but i dont have a clue, maybe it has something to do with the powerband range of rpm...

i have seen the concept of "braking power of xxx hp" but i dont know how to calculate that.

i wanted to know if the lx4 needs more skills? i could swear because its weight (ultralow) and P.W.R., it has fasters reactions/motions than the TBO cars

i have been reading about TBO class cars, and i alway thougth the lx4 would match those cars in terms of lap times (in most of the tracks), so i really want to know if is possible make the lx4 compete with the TBO car cass without leaving the "fairness"

look what i mean, i saw some wr with the TBO and LX4 and..

blackwood:
xrt: 1:22.94
rb4: 1:23.23
fxo: 1:22.52
lx4: 1:22.18

between the TBO class, the max diference is about..0.71 wich is higher than the diference between the lx4 and the fxo (0.34 secs)

is pretty obvious that the lx4´s less top speed is balanced with the braking and turning speed, so the results can change depending the track..

for example in west hill the WR with the fxo is faster than the WR with the lx4

Leaving the WR topic, i mean in the race, the lx4 could be the most vulnerable due to his lightness (when you get some racing touchs haha)

so my bottom line is, isnt the lx4 matching with TBO class? i mean, in the same TBO class there is kinda a big difference between times, due to car characteristics (FF-AWD-FR) but i really think the lx4 can be racing face to face with the TBO car class without being "abusive"..

please tell me if im wrong or what

I already know that around this forum there is a lot of people who sure know a lot about racing (or that is the impression they want to show) , so here is a question that have been around my mind since a year because i was trying to find the answer by myself...


When im seeing BEST MOTORING, sometimes they talk about "VERTICAL GRIP" and "HORIZONTAL GRIP" as strategy element of every race, for example "you should use more vertical grip now"


i analyze a bit the thing.i think the horizontal grip is to fully use the bottom of the tyre without using the bordes (edges), and the horizontal grip is about the same but including more the borders (edges), basically the edge of the tyre is where the rim could get out a bit wich mean a lot of steering traction used, or putting more weight distribution on the tyres.

by the way, i know for a while that in LFS (i use keyboard:shrug you can use a kind of "steer braking" to adjust the speed on the turn or correct the racing line, i figure this out but i still have to determine if this tech is used to be faster...


finally, what is "VERTICAL GRIP" and "HORIZONTAL GRIP"?????????????

i dont care, i give a try, the diference between mouse and keyboard is, with the mouse you have to do the "return" when you turn the wheel, with the keyboard the wheel returns by itself after some turning, i think i feel better with keyboard because of that, in real life is like that, you turn and the wheel will back to the original angle. i stay with keyboard (i feel faster with it)


about the boot.ini, that shit, is not working; some files missing

at least you got balls to the challenging, i gonna try what you wrote, but Gills4life is so chicken that he thinks if i buy a wheel and a s2 license is better (you want me to spend money that i cannot spend to play with you? when i get those (wheel+s2) i will enjoy as hell KICKING your ass on every track) so, you cannot race using the same shit i use (keyboard) because is too difficult to you, i understand, shashdev wait for it, give me a couple of weeks im trying to fix a windows problem (some files about boot.ini are missing and i need to repair) i will notice you to have a match =)
