the guy just pressed some switch and that valve opened slowly

btw that movie is so much into racing, way more than the fnf

The motherboard+cpu combo you have is very good so if you have a decent amount of memory (4GB for example) then you are more than good to go.

sorry for my late reply, but now Im having problems in my house , im moving to live alone (lol) and now the videocard I purchased the last sunday is failing when I run 3dmark (I know this is kinda offtopic but) do you think this can be a damaged motherboard?

Could be the voltage, but now Im thinking in the motherboard, I cant believe in my bad luck with this

Quote from OTone :If you have the extra money, go get the GTX660ti. (MSI Power Edition preferably)
If you are a little low on budget, get the GTX560ti. (MSI Hawk Edition or 448 Cores edition preferably)

I advise you to wait a bit and get a GTX660ti GPU. No point investing 250 or 260 bucks on a GTX570 if you can buy a GTX660ti for around 30 extras bucks. It's a no brainer.
In case you are low on budget buy a GTX560ti, it consumes much less than a GTX570 and still is an awesome GPU to play Live for Speed.

I always had MSI GPU's and never had the slightest problem with them. MSI is highly regarded because of their air cooling systems. I have a MSI GTX560ti Hawk and I have excellent performance playing Live For Speed, even with hi-resolution texture pack I can get around 40-50fps with the full grid with TV camera. (With 1920x1080 resolution and with everything maxed out)
But I always have my FPS count stuck at around 300-350 most of the time. Sometimes I get almost 500

Oh yes, do not record Live For Speed with Fraps please

http://www.cargame.nl/forum/ta ... hilit=poor%20man%20dxtory

OUTSTANDING REPLY! wow!!! amazing, I never heard about another software than fraps when it comes to record with quality, I will give a try with your option, btw, about the GPU, Im not very familiar with the terms used in the gpu performance, but, for example, in this list here:

http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html

the 660ti is below the 560ti and the 570, but after googling around, I found this site for example:
http://www.hwcompare.com/13161 ... 80-vs-geforce-gtx-660-ti/

my monitor is 24 inch, with 1080p resolution, I dont know what kind of feature is relevant here but my 470 had this:
Quote :
Interface Interface PCI Express 2.0 x16 (Compatible with 1.1) Chipset Chipset Manufacturer NVIDIA® GPU GeForce® GTX 470 Core clock 656MHz Stream Processors 448 Shader Clock 1312 MHz Memory Memory Clock 3402MHz Memory Size 1280MB Memory Interface 320-bit Memory Type GDDR5

Im not sure in what the 320 bit memory interface could do a best performance in gaming, here is the 660ti specs:
Quote :
Graphics Engine GeForce GTX 660 Ti Interface PCI Express x16 3.0 Memory Type GDDR5 Memory Size(MB) 2048 Memory Interface 192 bits Core Clock Speed(MHz) 1019 (Boost Clock: 1097)

I dont understand those numbers because a friend of mine told me that the real performance of GPU are not based on the amount of memory, so I dont know what to see in this specs list.

the pci xpress 3.0 is a nice feature but my mobo (asus sabertooth x58) is pci xpress 2.0, I dont know if that would be a waste?

the GPU really catchs my attention but now Im not sure because those specs numbers and benchmarks results

this catchs me for sure:
Quote : even with hi-resolution texture pack I can get around 40-50fps with the full grid with TV camera. (With 1920x1080 resolution and with everything maxed out)
But I always have my FPS count stuck at around 300-350 most of the time. Sometimes I get almost 500

thank you very much for your answer and sorry for my bad english
560ti vs 570 gtx? or a better option?

hi, my gtx 470 amp from zotac just...came faulty but It was working fine the most of the time (I often get some crashing from the GPU) and the last week, I couldnt play any game.

The GPU was very good with the temperature, because It never went over 70cº celcius under heavy stress

I really liked that GPU, it was stunning performance and good looking:

it was kinda noisy but nothing to worry about...

Now that it was "dead" probably because a voltage problem in my house or maybe because it was really a faulty card (it worked fine until you have to play a game the last week), a friend of mine, just help me with his video card, a radeon hd 5700 or something like that,

I must admit, I think Im a fanboy of NVIDIA, I just like them so much. this card is doing well right now, but my thing is with nvidia.

Im just asking advice if I should go for a gf gtx 570 from MSI;
http://www.amazon.com/MSI-N570 ... /ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

or get the gtx 560 ti (evga everywhere here):
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb ... field-keywords=gtx+560+ti

The price tag is almost in the same range but I dont know what to choose...do you have a better option here?

a note:
My psu is a 850w thermaltake toughpower gold.
and my cpu is an i7 960 (I dont like to overclock anything, I just like stock form performance).

LFS right now is doing almost the same FPS with this radeon (slighty lower fps, about..10 fps lower in some cases) compared with the gtx 470.

Im looking for the most fps possible with full grid and all the graphics setting at max and V-sync on....because I use fraps and you know that fraps hits the fps down.

sorry for my bad english.

pd: I dont know anything about GPU subvendors, I dont know if EVGA is better than ZOTAC or MSI is better than anything?

Quote from MadCatX :This doesn't look like overheating. It's not that easy to really overheat current hardware and even when it happens, the machine would more likely power itself down rather than reboot.

Random reboots with no error message whatsoever can be caused by a power problem. If the electricity supply you are connected to has a fluctuating voltage or runs at unstable frequency, the PSU might not be able to filter that out. Your system might therefore not get enough power under load and reboot randomly. Failing capacitors in the PSU can also cause similar problems.

I get the problem, the GPU was failing, my friend come to my house with a PSU tester and it was ok, but we changed the gpu and problem solved...****..

He told me it seems like a voltage problem could damaged my GPU, now this is a good excuse to get the 560 ti, (coming from the gtx 470)

I have to solve the voltage problems here for sure, is nice to know differents points of views about the same problem, it gives you so much feedback

nice point, but I checked all the temperatures just before the restart.

I use everest, realtemp and gpu-z, in this case, I hope is just cooling paste because this will be a cheaper fix, I dont wat to buy another PSU or GPU lol

hello, this is really frustrating, I remember a few days ago I used LFS with a full grid of cars to make a photoshoot of the FBM, my computer was doing pretty well and didnt happen anything wrong..

today Im trying to play LFS just the normal way, and everytime the race is about to start, my pc just restart itself....

I can tell you, lfs open itself normally, the screen options and everything before playing the game is normal. the restart happens just when the race is starting, I tested with other racing game called simraceway and happens the same, everything went ok until the game started the race

Now Im not sure if it is a GPU or PSU problem, or maybe a windows problem?

pd: my computer the last few days has suffered from ramdom restarts but I think is an electric power problem (in my country the blackouts are an everyday thing) is common to have power inverters (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P ... _power_source_utilization)

sorry for my bad english

edit:
my hardware:
gpu = nvidia gtx470 zotac amp
psu = thermaltake toughpower 850w gold

I think the psu is pretty good, I hope is not damaged =(

edit 2;
I just try LFS without the full screen display and it worked a little bit longer, but the pc restart/crash after a little while, I checked the temperatures and all seems normal

I hope is just a little bit of dust in the gpu, because If I have to buy another one (im praying not to be the PSU) I will go crazy

Hello,this is driving me crazy:

system:
asus sabertooth x58
i7 960
12 gb ram DDR3 corsair dominator 1600mhz 3X4 GB (with fan)
PSU: thermaltake toughpower gold 850W
Zotac Nvidia GTX 470
case: HAF 932 (coolermaster)

this is the problem:
I used to have 6 gb of ram (3x2gb) the same corsair dominator series, with no fan. I have this system with nothing overclocked, everything is with their stock or factory specs. I dont have aftermarket parts but I have nothing overclocked.

when my MoBo used the 6 gb of ram, it was hardly to see it over the 40Cº (celcius) under stress I could say it was difficult to see it in the 45Cº.

Now with this new set of RAM, I installed the memory fan cooler too, the system at idle is 45Cº I still coulndt test it under heavy stress but...

this temperature is normal? probably more ram = more heat??
should I worry about this?

I dont have water cooling, this is my temps right now, using everest (Idle, just using firefox):
Temps
Motherboard 46 °C (115 °F)
CPU 38 °C (100 °F)
CPU n.º 1 / core n.º 1 47 °C (117 °F)

btw, my computer is in a room with no A/C, I live in a carribbean country, where is common to get 30-35 ºC of temp everyday

You are currently running in a single channel configuration, as you only have one RAM stick in use. If you get two or four sticks, you can do dual channel. If you want triple channel, you need to install the RAM in pairs of three. So either three or six sticks to get all the memory bus bandwidth that motherboard supports.

nice, I will try to get some 3x4 gb pack in triple channel, I was affraid to damage the board using just 1 module.

thank you very much for the info!

hello people, Im just getting crazy with this doubt, if my system is compatible with ddr4 ram modules, it can go with ddr3 or ddr2??

My mobo (sabertooth x58) supports ddr3 with the triple channel setup but Im not very into it, can I put ram modules in dual channel mode? because I read somewhere while googling around, that could be dangerous (wtf)

I dont understand why running a triple channel mobo in dual channel mode could be dangerous...

pd:
Im running with one ram module (2gb ddr3 corsair dominator) because I loss the other two, I have no problem, still...

hello, Im asking what kind of codec do you use for video editing and encoding because Im getting this:

A) with sony vegas, using the mp4 -h264- format, i get over 1 gb of video in ±6 minutes of footage (this with a 30 fps and 1080p)

B) using adobe encoder, I can get smaller video files, using the mp4 format but I can see some quality lost like the pavement looking "blurry", this is using a VBR with 2 pass. changing the audio quality only reduce about 20 mb.

Im not sure if im doing something wrong, do you suggest me some advice? I need to know because I will do videos, about 15-30 min long

Quote from MadCatX :The only thing that might (and probably will) happen is that Windows will keep some files and config created for the old board. You could probably just uninstall any software that came with the old board, do the swap and hope for the best. If you notice any problems like random crashes, funky USB or slow performance, you can always do a clean install.
And just a side note, I don't think that Windows has gotten any better at handling this kind of things over time so the procedure should be the same for anything from W2K to W8...

well, I give up, I better do a clean install

thank you guys, I appreciatte your help very much!!

Greetings, Im sorry to ask this here but, actually this is the only place I can find people with this level of knowledge lol.

Thisi s the thing, I want to get a socket 1155 MOBO, with the 2700k processor, right now i have a 1366 socket MOBO with the i7 960.

A guy told me I will have to reinstall windows because the drivers will mess up the whole system.

I dont know what is the problem I understand the drivers may cause weird stuffs but it can be fixed by reinstalling drivers.

My HDD are sata at 6gb/s, I read somewhere that if your HDD is fully compatible with the MOBO, it doesnt mean you have to reinstall windows and software after a chipset upgrade.

Guys please tell me what to do, If I need to do a backup disc or what? lol

hello, I hope you dont mind if I made some grammar mistakes but I need to get some feedback with this issue.

sorry for my bad english, you are warned.

well, I was just googling around some processors from intel, just checking the socket 775 list of processors.

I was thinking, well, is kinda an outdated socket for today standards, the most processors for this socket must be cheap.

well, that is what i thought..

just checking the core 2 quad models, I went to amazon.com and just found that the the prices for those processors are over 300 us$ and some cases are near the $1000 usd price tag.

So..I think this is kinda ridiculous.

Im not sure what kind of variables makes some lineup of processors to get cheaper with time and what kind make their prices to stay at the top...

for example, from the socket 1366, we have the 960+ series (965-970-980-990) and they are still expensive, even with the new socket 2011 around.

there is no doubt that the sandy bridge kills for sure the performance/price ratio. but these prices doesnt get down, why??

of course there are some processors that the price get down with time, I think, those are the ones without the profile of "high end" processors, arent they?

about video cards, this thing is tricky, I was looking for a gtx 470 and the prices were high as hell, around $400 usd, but I found one, the last one in microcenter, with a very good price, $300 usd, so I took it, few days later the prices drops down hard, at least that was what i see in http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/

the price drops to $250 usd or something, off course this must be caused because the gtx 560 ti, wich was cheaper and kinda delivered the same performance as the gtx 470 but I couldnt find a site still selling the 470 with the dropped price.

this is kinda crazy, and fast. could you guys give me some advice with this? is crazy lol

why this turns itself off, and on lol?

hey look at this...

my rig was working fine but from couple of days it shows some ramdom behavior while starting up.

let me explain, for example somedays I turn it on, and the windows restart itself, with the black screen asking me to choose windows safe mode or start windows normally. I always choose to start windows normally and when windows 7 is up, it said something about the error, a bluescreen or something with the minidump stuff or whatever.

but today was the weirdest behavior, I just turn it on, and it just turned off itself, I didnt touch anything and it turned on by itself and later turned off all by itself again, i was like..what the **** now?

later the windows 7 just show me the options to start windows in safe mode or normally and i choose normally so no error windows was displayed.

is this a software issue, im affraid about hardware failure.

my psu is a thermaltake toughpower 850w gold. I already know in my house the electric power is not very good but i trust in the power supply to resist all the high, low voltages.

what do you say?
