Trulli for me. He has done some excellent things this season

Honourable mentions to Vettel and Kubica, although they have not had the same consistancy of (relative) performance for me.

Coulthard <shakes head and wanders off aimlessly into the setting sun>

Quote from ATC Quicksilver :My prediction is a McLaren 1 and 2, Lewis beating his team mate by about 30 seconds with Kimi 3rd and Heidfeld 4th. Lewis will win from Pole.

Dammit, I need to stop agreeing with you

The forecast at the moment looks nice and dry for Budapest, so I won't be expecting too many calamities. McLaren have definatley eeked out a wee advantage over Ferrari since Canada, plus their drivers seem to be in better form.

Fingers crossed for a good run for Red Bull, thet could do with stringing a few decent results together as the fight for 4th place in the constructors championship is going to be pretty tight between RBR, Toyota and Renault.

Quote from AstroBoy :..... and CSC still havnt put time on Cadel tomorrows stage should be interesting

Should have been, but Sastre apart nobody had the legs to challenge Evans. Watched the whole thing live when in reality the last 15min would have done
A wee bit disappointing........

I don't think the gap is big enough to bother Evans. All things being equal he will sew it up in Saturdays TT

Not my first choice for yellow in Paris, but lets hope the b*gger is clean at least

Quote from ATC Quicksilver :There is a reason they are called aliens, there is no secret, you can't learn it, you can only get close through practice, but at the end of the day their limits will always be higher.

Nail on head.

It's instinct. Nothing you can learn.

Yes you can improve massively thru practice and technique, but imo that last few % is down to instinct, gut feel, call it what you like

Watched the race last night after recording it.

I'm fairly new to watching the Moto GP, this is only about the third season I've paid attention, but......

That was quite the best bit of bike racing I think I've ever seen

Rossi was evil on the brakes and Stoners grunt out of T11 was scary enough to watch sitting on the sofa!

Was really disappointed in Stoners reaction in the post race interview tho, he should have been honoured to have taken part in such a masterpiece

Ok there was that one incident at the corkscrew where it got a bit messy, the rest was poetry in motion.

Come on Vali, kick Caseys whining butt all the way to the end of the season

Quote from mcintyrej :I've had Trulli all season since he was very cheap considering he finish around 7th or 8th (can't remember) in the WDC last year. I don't want to sell him, if i downgrade to a driver below it actually costs me money because he's gone up in price so much.

I'm really stuck what to buy - I normally have about mid everything so Toyota Chassis, Trulli, Sutil, Force India Engine, Mcl fuel. I'm not doing very well though I get <400 points each race.

I don't really want rid of Trulli though - he's ace and as soon as I sold him he'd be loads more to buy back.

Good call with Trulli. I missed the boat on that one Theres no way I would sell him to finance other areas of the team.

if I were you, an STR engine would be high on the list of priorities then Vettel for Sutil maybe?

I downgraded Button -> Vettel a couple of races ago to finance a Ferrari chassis. I'd like to think SV is a dark horse for the remaining races

Quote from Gizz :every bleedin race we get this crap!!!, i carnt belive the crap you lot spew somtimes i really carnt....snip....
so is lewis the best driver on the track??? for me NO kimi is the better allround package at the moment.....

By paragraph two of that post I am bleeding from every facial orifice.....I feel raped by the lack of, and excessive use of punctuation. Lets just not even think about grammer. Trulli excruciateingly painful (excuse the pun )

Anyhoo, the race.

Hamilton was outstanding. Managed to win the race despite seemingly questionable team decisions during the SC period. Definately let thru by HK near the end tho, typically obtuse of Dennis to deny it.

Is Massa off to McLaren next year or something? P!ss poor non-attempt to defend his position from LH.

Piquet, the jammy sod Happy for him, but he will need to produce more....erm, more......well just more generally to make sure he is around next year.

Ferrari. Its all my fault, I apologise In the fantasy F1 league I 'purchased' a Ferrari chassis prior to Silverstone, clearly that act has f*cked them right over. After this post I am off to pen a personal apology to Marinello written in my own blood

Alonso. I like him more and more as each race goes by. He tries so hard my eyes water. Much respect

RBR were a bit of a let down, their junior team have really closed the gap. DC just aint doing the business, a sad end to what has been an outstanding career. I'm sure its not for the lack of trying, but he's racing 2/3rds of the way down the pack (when he actually keeps it on the track). Webber is showing how it should be done, but he obviously drove in front of a pack of black cats whch made him swerve and crash into a mirror shop a few years ago. His bad run of luck is a shame as I think the boy has real speed.

Vettel. Star in the making? Could be, could be.....

Trulli - another consistant quali and race. Having an outstanding season.

The Bayern Motor Works will be a quiet place this morning. Outpaced and outraced by their traditional rivals. Wonder if they have moved most of the focus onto the 2009 car?

Honda and Williams seem to be going backwards......perhaps they should try facing the right way You have to think that Frank and Ross will sort them out for next year though.

And for a final snippet - how the hell does Hungaroring stay on the rota?
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz of a track to watch, might just watch quali then not bother with the race.......

Quote from Mazz4200 :Site has been updated.

Another poor result for me, but surprisingly didn't drop any places.

The big news is the standings in the Subleague Competition are up. Go take a look see, tis good news

http://www.f1racemanager.com/subleaguecompetition.asp

Gerrin' there

Although, since I bought the Ferrari chassis before Silverstone they have turned into a pair of diddies Should have saved myself 10M credits and went with McLaren and kept the change for a driver upgrade.......

Those who picked up Trulli a while back were inspired, he's been operating above his station for a good few races. Fair play!

Vettel is starting to look pretty handy in that Torro Rosso, but I fear for the Honda boys for the rest of the season.

Hey ho, average points haul but only one bet correct.....no changes for Hungary it seems

Good fun tho, fair enjoying the fantasy league

Quote from Bean0 :You've got the right attitude, which is always good to see

A lot can be learned just from spectating a race and watching the faster guys. Set LFS options so you can see the throttle/brake bars in the corner, and watch their lines and where they get on the gas or brakes.

Thats good advice, worth taking account of
(if spectating press v to get into cockpit view to see the peddles and make sure this option is turned on in the LFS options:tab to change between racers)

In the lower powered cars try to concentrate on carrying as much apex speed as possible without losing control. This doesn't mean aggressive late brakeing, but smooth input to the controls both during corner entry and exit.
Once this leads to better consistancy your lap times should come down rapidly.

Also, do try to get a good set, its not the be all and end all, but does make life much easier......

Have fun and good luck

I've read some of the crap you two posted in the thread hannah posted a link to, and I have to say its probably some of the most retarded shit I've ever seen on the forum.

Just man up and quit talking so much shit already, its embarrassing.

Quote from hannah :there is alot of sexism.
Go to my thread in the begginers forum.
It had to be closed due to it "getting out of hand" with over excited kids
and there was alot of sexual comments there

Theres a wonderful thing called an Ignore List to be found in your profile settings

I recommend you use it to full effect

I also frequent a rock climbing website, and it's really pathetic seeing all the cyber-stalking freaks out there harassing any of the women who admit to being of said gender. They even have to remove their profile pictures due to the obscene amount of lewd and immature comments.

Anyway, No Longer Welcome means you've been very naughty, or just a complete ar$ehole

@ Glen - I disagree the scripts for gear changes make little difference. In lower powered car round say FE Gold the difference can be easily as as much as 0.5 sec.

Its clearly enough to make the difference between having a WR and not.........

Its an expoit that should GTF.

At least 1, maybe?? Does a private test session count?

"1980 Patrick Depailler, during a private test session"

www.motoersportmemorial.org is quite a handy site and gives a list of 13 drivers which have died on Hockenheim.

The question is....does Jim Clark count? He was driving an F2 car whilst still a current F1 driver.

Feck it, I'm going for 2.

What I love about LFS - Just about everything tbh!

No I'm not some blinkered fanboy and am aware of the existing glitches. BUT...

1. ease of use and friendliness to old PC's
2. fantastic set up options (not car, just game)
3. intense quality multi player action
4. maybe half a dozen game crashes in over 2 yrs of playing, awesome
5. fantastic realism when driving the cars near their limits
6. £24!!!!
7. it's the first racing sim I've tried and the first to tempt me into cockpit view
8. love the regular updates and knowing the Devs are never that far away
9. LFS World
10. the fact we know it will get better yet!

:yipee::clapclap::woohoo:

Hi AndRand - enjoyed racing with you the other night
Also, thank you for the kind words about our server!

We're still beta testing the application to fine tune the weight and intake restrictions received by the top half of the finishers. Some more drivers on a Thursday night (1900-2200 GMT) would help with sorting those out!

As Mr Skunk has said already, we plan on making a formal announcement when we are completely open for business

Until then, if you are a clean driver, feel free to join us. Just bear in mind, tweaks to the system are ongoing and we are learning ourselves as to what penalties work best with certain types of car.

Any input is welcome

** we also need to adjust it so anyone named Skunk receives double penalties **
