That was Jackie Stewart who said in an interview that the amount of mistakes Michael Shumacher makes during one racing weekend is the same he and his fellow racers was making in their whole career. This makes me think that racing drivers 20/30 years ago was ones to be admired. They were driving their kamikaze missiles 150 mph knowing that a single mistake or misfortunate event would cost them thier lifes. There is no comparison to todays drivers who sit in their carbon fieber cocoons with traction control, enormous downforce and non-explosive fuel. I respect them of course. But I respect racing drivers from 60s and 70s much more for their passion, risk and performance to F1 fans.
Anyone could be so kind to tell me what is the function of Slipratio to Friction of the tyre to the asphalt? For example when the wheel is not the propelling one and the car starts to move the friction cause the wheel to rotate.
... and the function of Slipratio to lateral friction.
I know that pacejka formula tells something about but i cant find just acuurately these functions.
However it is locked differential If it makes one wheel go faster so the other one too. So it actually goes to the other wheel because that one is on the ground and have more friction than one in the air. So the whole torque goes to one wheel <=> it is not distributed equally.
If both wheels have the same traction and equal weight distribution on them then ok - Torque is equal. But I can not agree that EVERY time the torque is the same. Just imagine one wheel hanging in the air like moment after hitting a curb. If the torque is distributed on both wheels equally what happens with the torque on the wheel hanging in the air? Disappears?
About Locked Diff. Lets say that maximal torque at left wheel without spinning it is 200 Nm and 800 Nm on the right. Reaching 400 Nm both wheels are proppeled with 200 Nm. Then the right wheel is being "filled" with torque untill it reaches its peak value. So we have 1000 Nm at diff -> 200 @ left and 800 @ right one. But what next? Increasing torque at diff to 1200 Nm will it be distributed equally to both wheels then? (300 / 900) or unequally proportional to maximal non-sliping value? (240 / 1060) ?
Making the textures twice the size will have absolutely no effect whatsoever. Textures will not be more detailed by just erlarging them. I made a high res asphalt pack for BW but I was not only making them 2x size but also adding some filters in photoshop and mixing with other textures to have more detailed look.
The skins from skinx folder after being dowloaded should be attached to a big file - sort of database - of dowloaded skins so far. Like the email programs they dowload all mail from the mailbox server and keep them in sort of cache file. No additional comression. Each file could have some sort of additional information then - about the author and Team it is used by.
I think the Volumetric shadows will be implemented to the game engine sooner or later altogether with other graphical improvements. Car shadows are quite ok but the shadows on the track are pathetic.
First of all if you keep cornering at high speeds nothing will help you.
You have to slow down a lot at first time and increase the speed every time making the corner to find the optimal speed for your skills.
For example make the corner at the end of the straight at 80 km/h then 90 , 100 , 110 etc.
Second of all remember that after pushing the brakes the balance of the car goes forward so at the end of braking start turning in -> the back of your car will oversteer and you will be able to drive through the corner at higher speed because not only front wheel will make your car turn but all of them.
Try different techniques to make the car oversteered. If you have Richard Burns Rally, the driving lessons in the game could help you a lot.
The last section is a bit too twisty IMHO. I would make some stright parts with hard angled corners. And it's a bit too short. Or if it is not too short it is too wide.
I wish we had those in LFS. I had so much fun driving them in Toca 2. I know, a bit arcade'y game but the feeling of driving a huge massive monster was very intense. And that sound of turbo charger .....
2. Get into options and check if you have Single Player Replay Save in Game options. Then when you want a replay to be saved just use the "1" and "2" buttons from the left side of the keyboard.
I know it's kind of hard to have binary throttle [0 or 100%]. Why coulnd't mouse drivers operate gas and brakes with mouse scroll wheel ? it would be much easier to control the car - using mouse I had much problems even with XR Turbo.
Put that "lol demo racer" up your S2 licenced a..s Gimme cash I'll buy the licence. I dont have cash now so I dont buy it now. any problem ??
And YES I know it's not that easy. I know it's just a shader code. And there's plenty of things to do to implement it but it's not a year time to do it for one person.
