jeez, i just completely smashed some poor guy on the oval. car infront of me slowed down a lot more than expected, i lost control trying to avoid him and crashed into the guy next to me. I can't remember the last time i've felt as bad about my actions in a game.

if you bothered to read through the thread, you'd see that they did. I was gonna be lazy and just ask but i thought, "what the heck".

meh, I am an idiot. I jumped the start in my last race. as soon as the red lights came up, i floored it, but i didnt hit anyone. Also, I had been doing pretty well and finishing all my races w/ 0 incidents, but in one legends oval race, I had 4 incidents.

I don't know if I'll be paying for the yearly. I have until the 29th to make my decision, i guess. Will the physics/damage be updated on the 26th?

yeah, just keep a kool head and watch out for the noobs I am waiting for the next laguna seca race right now in the rookie legends. the default gears of the solstice don't really fit the track...

lol, i can't believe i bought an e8400. I'm running it at stock speeds now. overclocked it can hit 4ghz on air or higher. the e8600 is supposed to be able to overclock higher, I'm not sure how high though. I was thinking of picking up an aftermarket cpu fan/heatsink in a few weeks.

AMD has released some new motherboards that are supposed to be better for overclocking. Intel Nehalem cpu's benchmarks should be popping up today or maybe later this week.

I tried limiting my framerate to 60 and that seems to have helped a bit. I think I may need to defrgament my hard drive and expand the MFT

Most of the time people end up needing to flash for CPU support, I rarely ever hear of it needing to be done for mobos.

Yeah, most of the time it shows up as above 60fps, but i see a stutter twice a lap at around the same spot each time. it is quite distracting when you are pushing 100%

Is there any way to record replays other than fraps? I'd like to sit back and watch my racing and others, but the replay function seems to be unavailable. at least the ability to save replays... Its strange how little things like that are missing.

Try using Drivercleaner and get rid of all the ati and nvidia videocard drivers, then reboot, and re-install the ATi Drivers.

I'm very happy with my 4850 the 4870 is a bit faster so that should be good too. for me, spending $130 more on the 4870 didnt seem worth it. 4870x2 is coming out august. Unless you have a huge monitor and run extremely high resolutions w/ tons of AA and AF, the only games that will really stress your system are stuff like Crysis.

I have my fan running at 50% and my card idles at 49degrees in my case

yeah, the e8400 and the pentium 4 are worlds apart. even running my e8400 at 1.9ghz, on my system, it's way faster than my previous processor.
why the 8800gt over the 4850? ah, looks like at some places the 4850 costs a bit more

hehe, i was thinking about buying the late model. I'm about to have my 1st legends race. I am a total oval noob, so I didnt expect to do well and i think I've qualified 2nd place. I don't even know what's considered appropriate aggression on the oval with these cars. I'm just gonna try not to kill anyone or myself.

i finished 3rd w/ the solstice @ lime rock. I wasn't even pushing hard and I'm still covered in sweat. 0 incidents my fastest lap was a 1:04.8 or something like that which was about 1 second slower than the leader's fastest lap.

Woot woot, I'm about to have my 1st rated race. Mah goal is simply not to crash. I shouldnt have qualified so I wouldn't be so far up... 1st corner hell....

As long as it's not a serious injury, I find copious amounts of blood to be entertaining. I don't like the site of wounds, though.

Yeah, that's what i'm thinking I don't really care so much for AI.
