Last year we dared to host our 1st ever event that runs vehicles with less than 4 wheels - the time trial type event using bikes on the Westschleifenring circuit. Even if interest was not high,it was still an interesting challenge,so this year we gonna try again and run the event in same format. There are only 2 differences between the years - this year several high performing bikes have been removed from options list and there will be 2 laps around the track to complete instead of just a single one.

The track itself has not changed - still the same Westschleifenring, the simplified version of the annual 300km car race venue, but with addition of 2nd lap the distance of a run has been increased to 21.83 kilometers, which is expected to be completed in around 9 minutes for the fastest riders. A total of 28 different bikes are open for selection, ranging from a simple motorcycles to high performing superbike class machines, including some historic machines, mixxed up with bikes that are not really meant for road racing. Again - despite the performance differences between these machines, all what will matter will be the skill of a rider - slower machine will be earlier in finish without falls than faster one which spends a lot of time getting up from falls.

To help out riders to finish their runs,we will offer once again insim help - an application that will put your fallen bike back to wheels without repairing damage and if needed - also turn the bike 90°. This is to ensure realistic possibility of read bike riding - poeple can back on bike after simple falls and continue the run despite some bruises. Still it is highly suggested to everyone willing to participate to join the event server before actual event and have some practice, set up the bike[s] and get to know the track!

Timetable:
Sunday,11th June
16:30 UTC / 18:30 CET - start of 3 hours open track time trial mode
19:30 UTC / 21:30 CET - end of session,no new runs can be started, all riders on track can still finish their runs
* the shown CET time is current (summer) time - if not residing in CET time zone, always refer to UTC for correct time zone convertion!

Guidelines during the event:
* Server will be password protected and password will be posted in this thread. No signups required.
* Riders will be allowed to start their runs with approx. 30 seconds gap.
* At the start of the session all riders will be called out in connections order, after the order has been complete, riders have to request a run by clicking on host's name (Race Green Events) in connections list and type "requesting a run". Riders will be queued in requests order and administration will allow them to join track, riders will have approx. 10 seconds time to join.
* There is no limit how many runs a rider can take, however it can be limited by amount of other participants and their run requests.
* In case of a fall, riders can put up the bike on wheels with command ";flip" (semicole+flip),there will be 2 seconds delay between command has been typed and executed. An additional command ";turn" (semicole+turn) will turn the bike 90° to the left direction. Note that commands are available only when the bike is stationary!
* There are no restrictions in bike or it's setup usage, however slick tyres are strongly suggested. In final results rider will be scored with best time of the session and the bike the time was set with.
* It is expected riders are familiar with the track and the bike they have selected, make sure you have at least some practice before the event.
* As per standard LFS rules, touching movable objects will add 2 seconds penalty, false start - 30 seconds penalty. These penalties will have affect the result of the run.

Rules:
* In case a faster rider has cought a slower one,the slower rider has to act similary as under blue flag - rider may not block an overtaking attempt, while faster rider has to pass in safe manner.
* It is forbidden to change name during event - participants should select their name (the one you usually use and wish to be identified with) before start of the event.
* Absolutelly no stopping on track - if for some reason a rider cannot continue his run, spectate and request a new run when it's possible again.

Other info:
*Event server - server is online,is set in practice mode with pratice layout (no time trial start) and has an Airio for laptime tracking (due hexadecimal code, most mods laptimes cannot be shown on simple !top table). Airio can spectate connections with very high and unstable ping for safety reasons (stable connections even from Australia should not be affected). Server will be open for public use until event day. For private practice feel free to use the attached layout. Server link (click2join): Race Green Events
*Event will be held using the latest stable version of LFS (currently 0.7D),compatible older versions and test patches are tolerated.
*All information here can be changed,if so,notification will be posted about changes.

Exactly as the post above says - you have to lift throttle before the upshift. The reason is that FBM has sequential gearbox without ignition cut,so when you want to shift up during acceleration, the gears are locked up with each other due load and shift between gears cannot be done - you have to unload them by simply lifting throttle. Or pressing clutch, but that's not very effective and will heat the clutch up. I hope insight in the process will help more to understand.

Race Green Autorsports 18 - receives 150 seconds added to finish time for not completing the mandatory pitstop requirement.

- - - - - - - - - -

Right at the same weekend as the inspiration event took place in the famous Nürburgring, the 4th edition of our annual endurance race took place in the Westschleife circuit. The event received 18 signups, however 2 of the entries never arrived. From 16 entries that took part in qualifying,2 did not take their earned place on the grid, leaving 14 entries to decide results between themselves. 9 different cars were represented on the grid, most popular was the Piranmoto Firefly 200 with 3 cars on the grid, there were also 3 pairs of cars and 5 cars were unique to others. Interestingly 3 most powerful and heaviest cars entered were not represented on grid, leaving the restricted home grown FZ5 being the most powerful, while one entry used the 125 horsepower version of another LFS's original car - UF1.

The tradition of having 3 different cars on podium was kept alive also this year, but despite receiving extra 2% intake restriction the winner for the 2nd year in row was running the RB4 on his way to the victory lane. But at least the driver was different - the irishman Twincam qualified 4th for the race and slowly progressed through the field to take over the race lead with 3 laps to go,celebrating the win of this event with his 1st ever try. With 17 seconds gap over 2nd place finishers,Twincam actually set the 2nd biggest margin of victory, however more than 4 minutes less than last years record margin.

The Yes motorsports duo of V.Lakūnas and Jimmy finished 2nd despite leading 19 laps. Their 1st driver V.Lakūnas set the fastest lap in qualifying with their 2-door coupe version of LFS's own XFG,which is boosted up to TBO class performance, beating competition by 7 seconds on one lap,but a chain is as strong as their weakest link - Jimmy inherited a drive-through penalty for speeding from his teammate and during his 10 laps was not able to defend the gap which was raised up to over 1 minute and 20 seconds. Both drivers of the 2nd placed team were also debutants in this annual race. For the 1st time in event's history there was a car on podium which had absolutelly no connection with LFS's default cars - the most popular car of this year's edition made also on the podium, driven by Race Green Autosports' Nosle, who finished 3rd despite 1 pitstop more than closest competition. He was also the best from returning runners - Nosle retired after 8 laps in the inaugural edition of the event, being classified 18th,but had a huge raise in performance last year, where he was highest with non-standard LFS cars by finishing 4th with Acosta Starlin.

None of the 1st edition top5 returned to the event this year, however 2 drivers with a win under their belts were running also this year. Winner of 2021 edition (the only 400km race) Ferat Motors in person of Michal returned also for the 4th event, scoring his worst finishing position - 11th. But one of the 2 last year's winners Gábor returned with an own entry, teaming up with a countryman Mandula, but this year did not bring any big success as they finished 4th.

The track this year was deffinitelly easier than last year, still offering a bit more difficulty than on 1st edition. The average speed of the best lap raised to 104km/h,which is 5km/h faster than the maze of the last year's edition. The attendance was kinda expected to drop compared to last year as the custom cars hype is starting to settle down, but still the event offered plenty of competition, not allowing to relax anyone during the 3 hours of the race.

Race Green Events thanks all drivers for participation and guys behind the scenes for their input and efforts. As always everyone is welcome to share their experience from the event, either in form of text, pictures or videos! Also (even if that rarely happens) - we're awaiting winner's speach!

Even if I'm suggesting this as an event organizer to be able to check cars for their aerodynamics better,it would be also a valuable information for drivers to know about car's extra grip. Some cars have added bodywork or undertray negative lift, but that currently can be seen as a non-exact value in forces view on track or you have to load .veh file in the editor. Additionally also visible drag values would allow to determine if a car for some reason has very unrealistic values to weed out badly made mods out of consideration of using them for events.
I hope this is an "easy" change and can be done in nearest future,as there should be no compatibility issues.

PP - receives 10 seconds penalty added to his finish time for pit exit line violation.

- - - - - - - - - -

There are only 18 main hotlap rank combos where drivers decide between themselves who is the best hotlapper, one of them was run this tuesday in RTFR - the one with longest laptime and deffinitelly the one hardest to make right. LX6 alone is a handfull car to control, but visit at Fern Bay's longest config made it even worse, still 27 racers tackled the challenge in qualifying,25 of them were ready to start the 12 laps race.

Late in qualifying with his last attempt Mantas secured himself a front row start for the race, missing pole position by 0.04s. That was still 1 position better than his previous best result in qualifying, but with this his best RTFR event did not stop - after chasing hard for 4 laps, the lithuanian found a way past polesitter and took over the lead for the first time in this event series to lead last 8 laps. With this Mantas became the 78th driver to score a race win in RTFR,first since november of last year. The win was 3 positions better finishing result than previous best and 7th top5 finish. R.Kardol was the fastest in qualifying to score his 14th pole position, but race pace was not good enough to convert it into another win - the 2nd place finish is his 76th top5 finish. Fnatic qualified just 7th,but during the race found a lot of pace improvement to climb up to 3rd,which is 2 positions better than his only other top5 finish, during the race he also set the fastest lap of the race - that's his first such achievement in RTFR. Current rating and standings leader Gábor finished just 4th,losing some valuable points to his main rival, but his 46th top5 finish actually should be enough to not worry about losing lead in the final round of 2023 season 1. Top5 was closed by Arska, who scored his 19th top5 finish,1st this year.

VOD at Youtube:

With estimated (before proper calculations) 38 points gap over competition Gábor most likely does not even need to arive at 12th race of the 2023 season 1 as scoring such amount of points requires scoring all possible points in event with record attendance. Let's see if the mod car which is equipped with slicks at a sprint track will attract such numbers - more information about next combo can be heard when watching the broadcast recording. But that's something happening in 2 weeks, next week it's time to activate randomized, who will draw cars for drivers out of pool of 23 relativelly well balanced TBO class cars - yes,it's time for our newest series RandomCar,5th round of the inaugural season will be held in Aston North configuration. in 3 weeks however we will return to Fern Bay Black reversed, where XRT will be run in the next RTFR XL round.

This time there are 4 changes in cars list, again let's start in alphabetical order:

The winner of the voting on our Discord channel resulted in win of a car, which is based on a Japanese classic from 90ies - 8JFZ Supercelestral. It will increase the already biggest engine/drivetrain configuration FR and with just over 1.5 tons weigth it will be the 5th heaviest cars in the field. The car will start with initial balancing of 11% air restrictor.

The Acosta Starlin was noticed of being a bit underpowered, best seen in latest race in faster course, that's why from now on it's restrictor is reduced by 1% to have 20%+180kg balancing.

Also Fraud Wheeler E2 showed lack of power in the faster racecourse,so gets it's restrictor reduced by 1% to have a 13% total restriction.

URC1 keeps winning races and once again organisation feels it's right to add another set of ballast - the ultimate road car's total balancing is 50%+180kg and has a chance to reach max possible restriction if it overperforms on upcoming round.

UFR hasn't been very popular in RTFR XL - it has been selected twice and attendance put it as 3rd least popular car in the chart, weirdly in the shorter RTFR version it's the 5th most attended LFS default car. This week it had it's first race in Rockingham and it turned out to set new attendance record for the car, however with 12 drivers classified as finished,it's pretty much close to average of previous 2 races. The combination of this car and this track was known to have some rolling problems and several drivers were caught out without even touching the badly famous sausage curbs, causing the race being quite actionless in the late 1/3 of the distance, however last few laps raised the intensity as few drivers misjudged the lifetime of their tyres.

Since winner of previous 3 races reached his limits of combo selection,so it was given to 2nd place finisher of previous race - he used that to take a full set of achievements,as the lithuanian with changing name celebrated his 4th RTFR XL race win, scoring also his 7th pole position,5th fastest lap of the race and 10th top5 finish. During the pitstops shuffle R.Kardol took over race lead for 1/3 of the race, but never had the chance to outpace actual leader and finished 2nd to score his 38th RTFR XL top5 finish, extending his lead in this chart and also taking lead in yearly standings. Doni got cought with minor violation, earning a penalty that took away the honor of finishing in lead lap, still kept the 3rd position in results - that's his best ever finishing position in RTFR XL,improving the previous best by one position,4th top5 finish in total for him. Ohnifus went for an early pitstop strategy and gained a lot positions since that to finish 4th - that was his 3rd RTFR XL race finish, first better than 8th place. Arska was also one of the tyre durability victims - he lost a position before last turn to finish 5th - 9th top5 finish for him in total,1st this year.

* FUN FACT OF THE MONTH :
R.Kardol keeps extending his lead in laps led chart as he added another 24 from this race - however this fact is not so much fun for him as from 22 races he led,the dutchman has won only 10 and with this race he sees the winning percentage sinking even lower. This year is even worse as from over 100 lead laps in 3 races he's still winless.

* CLOCK PITTER OF THE RACE :
Only a single driver finished the race without any work in the pitstop - the organizer completed the mandatory pitstop requirement with a 10.51 seconds workfree break in pitstop. There were few faster pitstops, but these were either timed by pitwork or ruined by additional pitstop.

* FIELD RUSHER OF THE RACE :
Again a paragraph where the organizer has to mention himself - from 17th to 7th was a 10 positions gain, that's 3 more than 2 best rivals.

VOD at Youtube:

In 4 weeks the next RTFR XL will be returning to Fern Bay's Black configuration in reversed direction again - already the previous Fern Bay visit was in this exact course. But instead LX car,we'll be running the TBO classes RWD car XRT. That will be 4th appearance of this car in RTFR XL,first one since 49th event. Surely that will be somewhat easier race despite higher distance than upcoming normal RTFR race on the closest tuesday. More details will be posted on the weekend.
Regarding weekend - Race Green Events offers some enduring action this sunday! The yearly long distance challenge 300km of Westhill is set for it's 4th edition, make sure you don't miss a chance to gain a place in history, more info about the event in THIS THREAD.

Pitting rules:
Race requires a minimum time spent in pitstall of 10 seconds. That can be done either with single pitstop or sum of multiple pitstops. Driver who has spent less time will receive penalty time added to his finish time, which will be calculated by tripling the missing time to complete neccesary minimum time and adding additional 5 seconds. Drivers failing to pit at all will receive 1 minute penalty added to finish time (10s*3 + additional 30s).

Race statistics / RTFR .mpr folder / Event rating and other statistics (will be updated later this week)

Last time RTFR run a GTR class car in South City's Chicane Route configuration, the race set a record lowest finishing percentage by being the only race in event history with below 50% finishing rate. Seems like quality of drivers have improved through these years and the race this week on very similar combo ended with 88% finishing percentage, however 8% did not reach the finish line as they retired after completing half of the race to be classified in race results. Of course the narrow chicane was highly influencing drivers - some lost positions, some damaged car, some gained on other drivers' mistakes.

It's not really clear why the lead change happened, but with less than 3 laps to go Gábor took over the race lead after being in chasing position for almost whole race, led the remaining 2 laps to score his "Black Jack" race win - the 21st RTFR victory. While running in lead,he also set the fastest lap of the race, which was his 16th,adding also his 45th top5 finish to stats. The lithuanian driver with ever changing name was the one to beat in qualifying,so he scored his 17th pole position, but after leading 30 laps,he lost race lead and finished 2nd to score also his 17th top5 finish. R.Kardol was rather invisible on the broadcast as he was running alone for most of the race, finishing 3rd,which is his 75th top5 finish,Adam had way more action to go through to finish 4th and in top5 for the 4th time. Ayoub Maroc used the chaos in late race stages to slip into 5th position, scoring his 9th top5 finish.

VOD at Youtube:

Next up is RTFR XL - on the coming tuesday a totally different LFS's GTR car will be used. It's the one classified as NGT class car with a lot of rolling potential - the beefed up UF1000. And to add some more roll in the rolling the selected track has few of the "sausages" lying around,so it will be another focus test race just like this week. Full information will be posted and server will be set up tomorrow. In 2 weeks the standard length RTFR will return - which car and where can be found out in the broadcast recording.

PENALTIES:
Denialator - receives 10 seconds added to finish time for pit entry line violation.

The first RandomCar race at somewhat faster track was held at Kyoto's roval configuration named National and regarding winner there was no surprise - the Ultimate Road Car keeps dominating the racing and since it was used by 2 drivers at same race for the 1st time ever,it happened to take a double victory, making itself still unbeaten. With this trend it will receive another set of extra kilograms for next round and if max possible restriction does not slow it down enough, the car's future in this league will start draw question marks.

Series newbie Ayoub Maroc got the URC right at his 1st round and got used to the car quickly enough to upgrade his 3rd position in qualifying to 14 lead laps out of 16 and race win. However his win was everything else than easy as 2 cars were chasing him whole race long, the closest one was fellow URC racer with experience with this car - RD2 won series' 1st ever race with this car and tried to convert his 2nd draw of this car into 2nd win,but never really found a way past,so he clocked the closest finish in league's history by finishing 0.14 seconds behind race winner. The bulgarian set the fastest lap of the race, scoring his 2nd one of these as the 1st ever driver. Fastest in qualifying for the 3rd time in row was Mantas, scoring this achievement with 3rd different car, however during the race he could only follow the URC duo and finished less than a second behind winner in 3rd position.

The current standings leader did not get a great race with his Acosta, but still scored a decent set of points by finishing 8th to keep lead in standings as his closest rival had even worse race - Fast is still 2nd,but now 10 points behind lead,Nosle jumped into 3rd position with 12 points gap to lead.

The top3 in teams championship are still the same - S1dus leads, but their lead was reduced to 20 points and closest rival is now B2R,who overtook RGA with highest points score in RandomCar. RGA also outscored table leaders, but just by 2 points to get to 21 points gap in standings. No real changes at the top of nations cup - Lithuania keeps pulling away from competition as they have extended their lead to 50 points. Finland is still in stable 2nd position, but best of the rest is now 1 driver nation Luxembourg. With 4 out of 4 wins,URC of course leads manufacturers standings and their gap is increased to 30 points over FXO. 3rd position has changed however - Imprezzive took over the last podium position step and is 39 points behind leaders.

When looking at the stats,we can see that few cars happened to be drawn more often than others - the AWD Imprezzive is currently drawn most with 17 draws, followed by Talot with 15 draws. 8 drivers already have been drawn same car twice, most prominent seems to be 136mph who got the FXO twice out of car's total of 7 draws. The 4th round set not only new race average speed record of 133km/h but also was the 1st race with 100% finishing percentage as all 29 drivers completed at least half of the race distance.

End of the 1st half of the season will be run in the Aston - North seems to be one of the most popular user selections in RTFR XL,so it's no wonder it was selected also in RandomCar. The race will feature lowest number of laps in the series - 14. Next week the server will be returned to it's original duties - the next 2 weeks of RTFR will feature 2 different LFS's own GTR cars, which and where will be run on coming tuesday, will be announced this week in it's info thread.
