Quote from ajp71 :Here's what I was talking about earlier, go and get a small petrol one, will be more fun to drive, more reliable and cheaper to purchase. Don't get hung up on fuel economy and performance figures.

Have to agree with this, the margin for diesels being cheaper to run isn't really worth worrying about too much now.

That said, I still prefer driving diesels.

Quote from mclarenmatt :Ok thanks

How about a kit like this?

Helmet
Boots
Gloves
Leather Suit
Balaclava

Like you said its an investment so would something along the lines of this not only protect me but also last?

Right final question :P I see I have to do a 125cc test, can they supply a bike or do I have to buy myself a 125cc then after I pass I can sell up and get for example a 250cc?

Sorry for the amount of questions, I don't really have any friends who are into motorbikes.

Cheers,

Matthew.

Buy the best equipment you can afford, its worth spending as much as you can on it, and not skimp, might be worth looking into a cordura trouser / jacket combo instead of leathers, as they are more practical.

Most test centres supply the machine to do your lessons, and test.

Quote from Boris Lozac :Haven't tried GT5p online, but i haven't heard nice stories.. I just hope for qualifications at least, flying starts online are a laugh.. and are a laugh generally, that always iritated me in GT games, like '3.. 2... 1' and you're in control now.. aaarghhh.

I have, its not great.

Fingers crossed for qualifications and other good stuff.

Quote from Boris Lozac :Thing that worries me is how serious the online system will be. I seriously hope there will be qualifications, tire and fuel wear, racing rules (flags etc..). Otherwise i won't find use in online and will end up drive it alone like GT4.. Does Forza have yellow flags, blue flags, tire and fuel wear etc?

I imagine it will work just like GT5p does.

Forza doesn't have flag rules, but there is tire and fuel wear, but not on all servers.

Quote from kamkorPL :To me GT5TT wins in graphics, suspension movement, replays, 900 degrees. Forza 3 in physics, sounds, feedback. Ofcourse GT5TT still has good physics, good sounds and good feedback. While Forza 3 also has good graphics, good suspension movement, good replays and no 900 degrees.

And both games give a very good fun factor to me. Plus I'm hoping physics will improve in GT5. I think it's fair to say we have two winners here. As far as I am concerned, I would like to own both.

Are you sure you aren't my twin?

Chris, you are over reacting to the comments from both sides, don't take it personally, I am sure its not meant in the way you are taking it.

Might have been an idea to sound out the day change idea a bit earlier than a couple of days before the sign ups?

There are a lot of LFS'ers who raced in the RSC because of its Thursday timeslot.

While it is dissapointing that the series "may" be run at the weekend, in reality nobody "owns" the rights to either the series name, or the idea of running a series featuring the cars.

Although I would be dissapointed if the series continued at the weekend using the current series name, I have no power, or will to stop it, but all I will say is, in the contact I had with NDR prior to this, I had stated I had no problem with anyone taking on the series, however, I wanted the series to remain "as it was", and moving the races to the weekend is clearly a large change.

Personally, I can see an amicable solution.

NDR continues to run their season, as they want to run it, but as an honourable jesture, they rename it to something else.

Not only would this enable NDR to run their champoinship as they see fit, it also enables the RSC to be run, maybe by someone else, maybe by me, in the exact manner it was run in the past.

I have no desire to get into an "politics" over this though.

Quote from Jakg :Seems ok but at the very very very top end of my budget tbh

Anything post 2001 will be as reliable as the next car, for around a grand, you can pick up a decent 2.0TS (avoid anything selespeed though), for a bit more you could get a 2.4JTD (torque monster with 45mpg).

Quote from Kalev EST :I don't get it. Why are the schools closed because of snow? I'm sure UK has heard about roofs and walls and windows so there's no snow in the classrooms. With only a few degrees below zero, it can't be too cold either.

Public liability, risk of injury mostly

I dunno, I thought it was a well done ending.

It was obvious, to me, that although she'd "left", or at least told Oskar she had, she didn't, she cared for Oskar alot, so she was watching out for him, luckily for him!!!.
