Quote from Electrik Kar :This is great news!

I've had the idea for awhile to do a remake of the C64 game Paradroid in the Unreal Engine. I'd forgotten about this idea until yesterday when I remembered this thread.

I fondly remember playing Quazatron (same game I believe) on the Spectrum!!!

Quote from Glenn67 :You were more active than Tristan has been for two years Tristan peeked quite early giving 04-05 a good bash then dwindled rapidly thereafter. Danowat showed a little more endurance peeking later in 06 before his activity tapped off then fell away sharply in 09.

Interesting that I peaked in 06, bad year for me that!!!!

Quote from Equinox :Hey guys, just got xbox live gold & I have a question I'm hoping someone can answer!

Since I used a different account "offline" & managed to rack up some pretty decent cars, now that account is Silver & I use my Gold account online, can I gift all my cars from silver account to gold account?

Pretty sure you need a gold acc to be able to gift cars, so no.

From the FM3 FAQ @ Forzamotorsport.net

Quote :Q: I tried uploading a saved video to Youtube but the upload failed. What do I need to do to make my Forza 3 videos compatible?
A: By using a simple (and free) program like Windows Media Encoder you can convert your saved videos to a WMV format that will be compatible with websites like Youtube. Once you've saved your uploaded videos from the "My Forza" page to your computer, follow these steps to convert it to a friendly format:
  • Open Windows Media Encoder. If you don’t have it you can download it for free here.
  • The encoding wizard will be displayed upon start-up. If you have it disabled you can click “New Session” in the upper left hand corner of the screen.
  • In the “Wizards” tab select “Convert a file”.
  • Hit "browse" where you see "Source file" and navigate to the location where your Forza 3 WMV is saved on your computer. Select “Open”.
  • You can also specify a specific location to save the new output video, however by default it will save to the same location as the source file. It's best to leave this field at it's default to make sure you know where the new video will be saved.
  • Click “Next” and select “File Download (computer playback)” from the list of options and click “Next”. This will make sure your video retains its quality.
  • From here click “Finish” and your video will begin encoding to the new format. If it does not start right away click “Start Encoding” at the top of the screen. The program will make two passes at encoding the video, and depending on the length of your video and the speed of your computer it may take a while. Now is a great time to upload your next Forza 3 video to Forzamotorsport.net!
  • When your video is ready a dialog box will appear with details about the file, where it was saved and the settings used. If you didn’t change any file names in Step 5 then the program will automatically name the file for you. If your file is called “Forza.wmv” then the new file would be called “Forza-1.wmv”.
  • Locate the new file and upload it directly to Youtube!

Just turning the brightness level up in game will suffice, its only certain parts of it that are dark, and its only dark untill you get fully inside the dark parts, if you know what I mean.

I think they simulate the eyes iris changing from going to a light area into a dark area.

Its not really that frustrating.

Some pieces of advice.

1) Take it SLOWLY, its taken my the best part of 4 hours just to do level 1-1, you really don't want to go rushing in, you will die, a lot.

2) I'd suggest using the soldier class, you get a spear as default equipment, this keeps the enemies at a good distance.

3) Combat is very tactical, especially at the start of the game when you have very little health, block, use the roll and "step back".

4) Dieing in level 1-1 doesn't make any difference to the difficulty of the game, you can die 1000 times, and it won't make any difference, until you've completed that level, use level 1-1 as a training ground for combat.

5) Turn up the brightness, some parts are REALLY dark, and zombies jump out of the dark, alot.

Its not the "difficulty" per say thats hardcore about it, its the concequiences of dieing that makes it hardcore.

Because you lose all your "money" (souls) if you die, and have to return to the beginning of the stage, it makes dieing a REALLY big deal, there are no save points, checkpoints, or anyway to "save" the game, although it autosaves all the time, so you can leave the game and pick up where you left off.

Also, there is no way to pause the game, the game continues to run, even when you are in the menu / inventory / equipment screens

As such, its seriously tense and foreboding, you really, really have to think tactically about each fight, and the sound effects and graphics just really pile on the atmosphere.

The "multiplayer" side of it is really well done and unique.

All in all well worth the price of importing it, I got a Chinese/ENG version off ebay for under £40.

The Road

Read the book, loved it, was worried how the film adaptation would be......

Needn't have worried, AMAZING film, beautifully shot, stays quite true to the book, however, some of the pieces are in a different chronological order to the book, but it doesn't matter.

Well worth a watch, but be warned, some people (in both the book and the film) don't "get" the ending.

Quote from senn :No one seems to be talking about the lotus 2-eleven? What's it like?

Its a SERIOUS A class weapon.

Grips like crap to a blanket, but as its a little down on power you need to keep momentum up.

Brakes are great too, diff needs some tuning as you can get some evil (or good depending on your take on it) oversteer under braking.

Aston one-77 : Not keen on the cockpit driving position, other than that, handles like a dream, and is a screamer!!!

Zonda R : Hmmm.....bit too "exotic" for my tastes

Boxster S : Very similar to the other Boxster S, but its deceptively quicker

2010 Mustang GT500 : Love it, handles well, goes well, sounds nice.

Audi RS6 : what a beast, handles like a dream, although I'd have thought a 5.0lt, twin turbo V10 would have felt a bit quicker than it does.

M6 : What the M5 should have felt like, heavy, precise and powerfull

R8 LMS : Great R class car, drifts like a demon!!!

Saleen S5S Raptor : Pretty much a concept, possibly the best sounding car in FM3, wails like a banshee

Corvette Grand Sport : Great car, but then I like large engined RWD cars

Overall, a great pack IMO

Yeah, pretty much, also, I am a "lazy" driver, so they fit my style.

I also like being able to crawl along in traffic on tickover without touching the clutch or throttle.
