Justasimfan has no idea what he is talking about whenever he starts talking about polygons....
1: GT is not up to 2 million poly's per car, that is stupid and overkill for any racing sim. NORMAL MAPS ARE GENERATED from high poly models to generate the visual effects for a low poly model - low poly models can appear to be a higher poly while they are in fact NOT.
2: higher polygon means jack shit in terms of graphical quality.
3: GT makes extreme user of shaders, more chaders than poly. GT uses deep parralax mapping.
ISI Require licensing to SELL a real track in their sim...
COMMUNITY MODES WHICH ARE FREE - cannot be licensed, and therefore cannot be sold ( unless they get a license ) ..... and thus - real life tracks made by modders exist.
However - modders (unlike sim devs ) also have no association to the actual track owners or logos. And it is a good practice to note a non-association in a release as well - to avoid risk.
SIm Devs - once a licensing term exists , would be required to note association as well as logos, and chances are that they could be paying a portion of their revenue....
On the bright side - some devs get lucky when dealing with unknown tracks - as the tracks would consider it as free advertisement and therefore often not charge licensing fees and such.
I would ban people from sprint servers that use it, it is my understanding that it is a beta (non public?) feature?
It would be usable in a 24H race scenario were you need to take a piss..... other than that - I would ( and should ) be disallowed in a sprint or general length race condition.
No one wants to deal with mishap-AI in a league race.
