with VR? Because its still the main goal behind this. I question the level of support for this specialized hardware on Linux and if so, what the performance will be. Too much hassle to figure out, costs way too much time. Linux needs to adapt, not the other way around.
current scheme seems to be ANSI and yes its dated. But its difficult, adding bits throughout the system takes some dedication. It also can break old InSim systems, would be something at a massive update maybe.
converting .bat to .exe is.. to say it rudely.. nonsense.
If a LFS server is empty then PRISM also shuts down you say? Guess it crashes due some bad code somewhere. Should check PHP logs to see what goes wrong.
MXM cards are not supercheap, let alone the people who do not have the capability to upgrade their laptop like that. Nevertheless throughout the last ten years I managed to upgrade multiple times (M3000 -> 675MX -> 965M -> M3000M) and the initial card was already DX11 ready (22.02.2011 = 3326 days old).
However, not everyone is fortunate enough to be able and do an upgrade. I noticed in Russia for example that for second hand equipment the gold price is being asked. Also in European countries itself it's difficult, the times I needed to import stuff out of Germany to Croatia I cannot count anymore. If you want complete laptops then there is the problem of the keyboard layout as well.
Dedicated gaming machine? For the last twenty years no thanks, there is more in life to be stuck in one place
What is a bad attitude? Saying that you need to move your ass yourself when you want something? It's not a bad attitude, it's a pretty normal attitude. Learn, create, use. Not steal or depend on others. -That- would be a bad attitude.
Well one thing is for sure, the tools are already there. For years. No need to wait on a next update. If you really want something you need to set your mind to it and produce it yourself and not wait on some jezus who is going to arrange everything. Humanity is waiting for over 2000 years already.
what do you want to hear? It stays the same. If you want something different then some alternative group of coders / graphics engineers need to be formed for something new and/or open. And thats it. Nothing has popped up yet but virtually every day this could change of course, who knows.
Haven't actively played LFS for years now but start/finish lights are hanging in the air, missing objects at chicane are one of the first things I can easily spot as 'wrong'.
Furthermore, car tires do not flex, something which LFS is famous of. Bodywork doesnt move an inch. Junk.
LFS is based on times when analog modems where still active (mentioning of 56k modem in host settings). I still have one in a box somewhere but I don't think its being used anymore around the world, maybe something for a museum to put on display but it's more a target for the garbage belt I'm afraid.
It all can use some upgrading to modern times and this costs time. It's fine, no need to ask every month how its going.
Hah.. Ye, very true. Only the parking garage has lights. Randomized lights (going on and off at long intervals) in the apartment / office blocks? Would be funny.. But.. Not much to do with a racing sim anymore. Difficult.
incredible? it looks exactly the same to me. Only the smoke is different and it shows how bad the engine is mapped (unburned fuel in exhaust). Stuff for kids.
its a port but not really interesting. (not worth to spend juridical attention to it, ports are being made by the community. => private person).
Last time I started AC with some DLCs was years ago. (Yes March 2015, thnx for the recording Steam). Can even see this as marketing for LFS. Fern Bay gets updated soon(tm) anyway
