Quote from versiu :Paying 12pounds for one track is not rubish?

It's two tracks plus autocross and six cars. Quite a bargain for the amount of fun you can have. And for another twelve the possibilities are endless, some have years of fun with it. Do you know them? I bet you do.

Quote from franc51 :i meant people that are working on insims or servers.

You can't possibly say something about this because you haven't been a licensed member for years. All idea's and development requests are from the legal community not the illegal one.

Quote from versiu :I have S2 but I don't want forcing anyone to buy original game... In this price u can buy Assetto Corsa...

Yeah. So? I have an AC license, even the Nordschleife DLC, I never use it though because it's developed in a rubbish way (!). So, pretty crappy argument again.

Quote from versiu :I have more playes on illegal servers than I would probably have on legal servers >.<

Exactly the problem, thanks for clarifying this one more time

Quote from GreyBull [CHA] :
tl;dr: Everyone likes a free lunch, but the value of a free lunch depends on who you are and where you live...

I see this mistake happen time after time.. Only comparing income but not expenses.. It's twice as expensive to live in the UK then to live in Brazil.

It only takes a little bit of time to make it work again. I am not interested in this but someone else will do.. If you silence discussion the problem doesn't disappear, it stays. It's like putting hands in front of your eyes and saying out loud; "nothing is going on, nothing is going on".

This last sentence was more of a general note.

Buying a car is one thing, it needs fuel too. Speaking of which, 24 pounds is about half a tank of fuel. (Depending on local fuel prices, size fuel tank blabla, I know). Half a tank of fuel in four years.. What is this? Not much is it. So it can't be the pricing of LFS, the price is used as an excuse.

Quote from lucaf :Please buy even S1, you can get awesome much fun with that already.

The problem is that they already know this and had this. Without paying anything. It's called stealing but for some reason it is legit if you are from Brasil or some Arab country because -insert silly reason here- .

Although, I have to admit, it's not easy to buy LFS legal in some parts of the world (like Brasil). I saw someone suggesting, I think it was Degats, that any bank account can be linked with Paypal. But this is not true, this is only possible in some countries, not all. And if it's possible they use crazy high service rates, like 30-40% or something. (I know this because I needed to buy S3 vouchers for some Romanian friends and Romania is even in the damn EU!).

If you need to go through a lot of hassle to buy a product while at the same time it's very easy to get online on an illegal platform.. Why bother? The problem is now that the illegal environment got way bigger. Lets face it, the official environment is dead, completely dead. Not a little bit dead, Scawen, but completely dead. And this doesn't get magically revived with the release of a new car, new physics and/or tracks. More then this needs to be done, it needs to be released on Steam .. Not because of marketing (although it's a nice side effect) but because it's a worldwide paying platform where everybody can buy without any hassle a voucher/license. Without these actions life is not coming back in LFS because the illegal environment will keep finding it's own ways to get around the paying problem.

The easier you make the payment the easier people buy stuff (stuff which people most of the time actually don't even need).

Quote from Racer X NZ :Perm ban them and delete any posts supporting pirating or cracking this game on this forum please.

stop try to make this North Korea. As long as discussions are civilized why block it. So it can be dead here again like the rest of this year?

Quote from franc51 : we made friendships, and it's not so easy to leave from a communitty and go to the other, because ive spent 4 years there. 4 YEARS!

You can continue here, there is this demo. If you think the game/sim is good you can buy a license and you get more stuff. Most of the players still have enough on S2 level. Its 24 pounds. Four years thats 0.5 pounds a month or 6 pounds a year. When was the last time you went to McDonalds? Ever looked at the bill?

I am here seven years by the way. Spend a little bit more on LFS but that had also something to do with karma. Smoking is expensive you know.. Quit smoking and you save money, hurray \o/

Quote from Chobit :for example, 50 legit players and 50 non-legit players each month

This starts to sound like the migration crisis where some people have to work while the rest of the new people are terrorizing the neighborhoods and doing no contribution whatsoever to society. Even worse, trying to do some backstabbing.

What you are basically saying is that if there are enough paying people, you don't have to care for the people who steal. And the problem is bad marketing according to you. Well.. If you look on Youtube then there are hundreds, thousands of illegal video's promoting the cracked environment and only a few legal ones. Facebook groups same story. I tried , on my own, to take down a bunch of video's a couple of months ago (empty official servers, I was a bit bored) which in the beginning I was succeeding with but after a while Google got so annoyed by my requests that they send me a message that I needed to prove that I was affiliated with LFS otherwise they wouldn't handle my copyright infringement requests anymore.

The thing is if you want to do it right you need to make the team five times bigger, to handle all these things.. What do you think will happen with the price? Tadaa.. It goes up.

Quote from Chobit :My point is that, if this game is not going well, piracy is not the reason, piracy is the consequence of the reasons that makes this game going wrong.

Every online game has problems with piracy, except, Iracing. So piracy is everywhere because the games are wrong.. How much nonsense can you think of?

No. Why? There is enough database space, interesting to read all these people seeking to have fun but not willing to pay for it and making the most silly arguments why it shouldn't cost anything.

..

I'll admit this now: I played on a LOT of cracked servers for several years.

A bigger contrast in just two sentences is almost not possible.

What company are you working for? I would tell them that you don't need any money, you are not worth it, you can work for free.

I like how the Latvian people reply here because the situation between Latvia and Brazil doesn't differ that much;

Only the mentality is much better. Thumbs up

Quote from gui99 :We just want our pereulok, where we had friends, teams and championships!

What the hell? What do you think what happened here?

The official community existed of over 10.000 online racers <= racers (!). I know this because I counted and recorded licensed activity throughout the years. Everyone of them paid a very small amount for this fun. Until someone thought to steal the complete online multiplayer LFS environment for it's own needs. Me me me me, want want want and if we can't get what we want we steal it thats the attitude of this world nowadays.

hatred?

I fully agree with him. No idea why you are so against him (partly because its getting late here / tired) but eehhh to get back to topic start.. What you want can be done with InSim. "blocked messages unblocked messages" is a global message which can be tracked by InSim, further chat analyses can be done and a private warning can be send to someone who tries to communicate with a blocked user.

I would have liked to implement that myself and had lots of other ideas but well... Quite pointless now with this low active userbase.

Maybe someone else is still motivated to do this. I would say, have fun Thumbs up

Not talking about it is part of the problem right now.. How many Facebook groups I've seen the last two years with thousands of likes, Youtube video's with illegal content.. Hundreds.. If it cannot be discussed, it will not be seen, so it doesn't exist? Always been a weird philosophy.

Oh you want examples of illegal LFS online racing?

Game on;

http://www.lfszone.com/f20-forum
http://redbullracinglfs.oc.com.ar/

But illegal LFS cruising and drifting is a thousand times bigger which is bad as well.. There is no overflow anymore.

I directly believe that... This makes any development quite pointless, it would only boost that environment even more. (Like it did with Westhill 2.0).

Quote from FPVaaron :Cargame.nl looks like it's dropped off.

Yeah and it stays like this unless something substantial happens .. I doubt any official tire physics update, new track and or car release will help bringing life back in LFS. The biggest problem right now is multiplayer piracy. Even loads of people with a LFS license are now into piracy 24/7 ..

Years ago, at least before the Westhill update. Same concerning tyre physics update talks.. That people can get excited again just by mentioning it for the millionth time is beyond me. But at least it's no VR talk Wink

Quote from kturner :And a empty online racing environment has no merit on someone's intelligence or their common sense.

It does, two years further, there are five people using some VR and thats it. I say something about it and I am the one who is crazy. Well, just a middle finger and some Youtube celebration if another patch comes out about VR. Lets find out how good this LFS t-shirts will burn with 100ml of fuel.

I might be crazy but it's completely retarded to recommend VR here in front of all those people and if you don't like the 2D cockpit views then you can piss off because you are just a fool. The fools here are the people who still believe in all this VR nonsense. It doesn't sell and it doesn't look like it will ever do. In the meantime sticking with Windows XP, now that's hilarious.
