I have a problem with the live for speed server running the client and server version, where my internet provider leaves me behind a NAT (I don't have a PUBLIC IP) and I had to make redirects to my internal network.

Apparently it worked for other people on the internet to access my LFS server (they can log in) but I can't because my server doesn't appear in the list of servers within the game when I try to access it from another computer in my house. My server is listed on LFS World.


I tested with other internet and I can access and list my server in the server list inside I played (tested). But on my own internet I couldn't.

The only way I was able to get on my own server and play online (internet) with other people was to connect to a specific server> local network and enter the IP of the local network (192.168.xx.xxx).



Testing TCP and UDP port: TCP appears open (open) and UDP appears open but with blocking (open | filtered).

I redirected the TCP and UDP port;
I asked my provider to redirect the TCP and UDP ports;

I already called the provider and ask them to review the redirects to the port I use (not standard use) on LFS TCP and UDP and they claim that it is redirected.

On my router besides NAT FORWARDING I also did DMZ.

What would be the explanation for why I am unable to log into my own server using my own internet?

At my old ISP, I had a valid PUBLIC IP and I was able to create a server and log in using another computer on my own internet.

Some routers are actually capable of blocking internal (local) traffic between devices especially Wifi to Wifi but I guess this is not the situation here. Then there is Windows itself which can block communication. Make sure you have this @ cmd/run => firewall.cpl (see image). And have no other programs / virusscanners blocking or controlling the network.

Port scanning the local network IP can also help; https://superscan.software.informer.com/3.0/ its an old tool which I still use a lot. Sadly needs to be whitelisted @ "Windows Security" nowadays otherwise its being seen as a virus/trojan. Sigh.
