Quote from tristancliffe :
Your key will have (at least) three positions. Off, On and Start. On is ignition. Start is starter motor. They are separate. When you start you turn the motor, and the key jumps back to On on it's own. Simple.

So you didn't actually say anything that we didn't know before did ya?

I don't really understand they way of thinking with that starting/ignition thing here.

If you turn the key in your car it does run starting motor and ignition at the same time and then the key pulls itself back a little when you let your hold of it and the starting engine stops turning.

Say if Im wrong but in LFS's BF1 you just press on button and that turns on the starting motor and ignition and after the motor is running the starting motor isn't running. When your car stalls your ignition might be on but when you press the ignition button nothing happens as you have to press the button 2 times, 1st to turn something off and 2nd time to start the car. I don't really see why you have to turn something off.

You should just be able to press the ignition button once just to run the starter motor because it's already off so you don't have to manually turn it off as it does that automatically = and you're off.'

I might not understand something here but that's how my logic goes

I thought that XRT wasn't replaced by anything but Formula BMW in demo.. that sounds very nice http://cherrythian.com/images/borat.jpg

I think that they (demo racers) will still have 2 installments of the game, X10 and Y because they'll still want to drift with that xrt and can play FBM in Y

Removed XR GT Turbo car from demo

So much for the Y demo players. Like they want to play with anything else in general, even with the new track.

Initially a friend told me about this game.
I have had the demo for 2 years or over

I remember how we used to race with my friend on demo servers and he had DFP and I had KB+Mouse combination and he was always winning me.
Then (over a year ago or so) I got Momo and he quitted playing LFS so I moved to drifting. It really payed off because I learned many driving techniques buy drifting.

I always wanted to buy S2 but there was no time or money or I forgot to buy it when I had xtra money. So this winter I finally did it and bought S2 and I must admit Im pretty happy with it.

Partly because of the game and partly of the community that is simply fabilous I think

So I guess it was like 50.000 or something

Guess thats logical since the texture must be same

Quote from Ball Bearing Turbo :Very true, but what I really mean is don't whine about it being awkward and/or harder to use a keyboard.... it SHOULD be. No getting rid of stalling just because you have to use a button for it IMO. No clutch? Then either use an appropriately gimped autoclutch or use a button/key, and use a high first gear and so forth.

Oh well I see your point and that's right.
The keyboard users should definitelly adjus themselfs to the new physics as does everyone else if theyre still using the KB.

Quote from UncleBenny :you're forgetting the fact that when someone uses chase view they are physically not in the car, which makes the car lighter and gives them an advantage over the rest of us. so really, it isn't fair.

Good one

Quote from Ball Bearing Turbo :Good greif!

TVE and co, quit saying "treat everone the same" and then in the same breath argue that "everyone is different". (!)

You can still give everyone a chance to play the game with the controllers they want. That means you're treating everyone the same while they're all different.

Yeah I mean why on earth is someone's concern what view are other using? Is that disturbing someones here or what?

Those other views aren't for the racing view only but to look at your car, surroundings and such.

I have a feeling that the people who are whining about other people using anything different from what they are using are just childish and as The Very End sais can't imagine further than their own nose

Is it so hard to accept that someone just likes to use kb+mouse instead of wheel, can't afford it or is desabled? Is it so hard to accept that someone drives from different angle than you do?
What is so hard in that that?

Does it bother you so much that you have to rely on some lines like "Life isn't fare so poor people and disabled ones should stay away from this game 'cause I think that this is harcore sim" or "If you can only handle NFS and are new to the LFS don't even try and stay within the arcades" ?
Some weird lines are used in this topic :twirl:

tristancliffe stop thinking like a child for gods sake :nol2:

Now I said it. Sorry if you feel bad about it but reading your posts I couldn't help thinking how can a person think that way. It's smell like selfishness and elitism.

You do understand the world we are living in and every one is different and not like you?

I think that if we forged the new ideas behing the new possible developer members we could actually get some good points out.

New team members could just be as "slaves". By that I mean that Scawen, Eric and Victor would just give (lets say 3) new members some goals that they need to finish.
They can't bring they own views to the project and they just do the job they are asked to so the game can be finished more quickly.

And I think the community is giving Scawen, Eric and Victor plenty of usefull suggestions about the future of the game

Very good news

I have a guestion however:

I have custom textures on Blackwood and custom interios/exteriors on some cars also. Will the game replace them automatically or is it nessesary to install a fresh copy of the game?

Thanks.

Im with you on this.

I have been playing the demo pretty long time before buying the S2. And I have noticed that the game needs something new, something fresh to be more appealing to the long line players.

New tracks & cars would be awesome but it's only dreaming now without any hint from the devs I guess. My personal hopes rely on the December

Yeah I was racing on ConeDodgers 1 the other day and I came 2nd of 22. My fastets lap was 1:44.490 while the others behind me were doing like 1:41/42: xx.

The secret was to not making any mistakes and overtake people when they make one

Racing is Racing and Drifting is Drifting but competition is an element that can be seen in both

Quote from JeffR :I like both, but I spend about 4 times more racing than drifting, so I prefer racing. I also like arcade racing games as well as simulation racing type games. I also like other types of games like Tombraider and the Myst series. Outside of gaming, I like motorcycles (I own a Hayabusa), radio control gliders, and I used to play table tennis (but the current places are too far away). Sort of an odd mix of hobbies.

Yep pretty much same here too. I like many kind of sports instead of being focused on only one.

PS. Cr!t!calDrift, read my post and see, I like both of them

Well I think that Racing and Drifting are tied together because experienced/sunday drifter can usually handle his car better under sudden slidesituations.

He knows how the gears, throttle & brakes can help during slides or late braking. It's not like drifters are the only ones with that skill (skilled racers know these things too), but drifting practice always helps one to gain those skills.

So drifting is and always will be a very important part of racing (even in Formula 1 they do drift to keep the car going on tarmac instead of grass ) because you learn so much about handling when you have done some drifting.

To me Drifting is all about FUN and I don't "race" by drifting very often. I usually do drifting offline and practice the "perfect" lines and car handling by that. It's very relaxing too and is not tied to any point gaining or anything for me.
Sometimes I go on a drift server that does have that calculator but that calculator works in such way that you have to drift unnaturally. I prefer "pure" drifting with smooth and sometimes even crazy lines that really challenge you to know how to handle your car.

To me the there's drifting in the race world and racing in the world of drifting and I love them both :eclipsee_

Quote from niall09 :Why should there be more drifting servers? Its a RACE simulator! And, there are around 2 or 3 fairly well populated drift servers - Team Orange Public Drift, Silly Project server, and Saiko^D server.

TBH, there should be more populated race servers. There are too many cruise servers full at any one time when your looking for a server to race on. CTRA Race 1 is always populated too, but its nearly impossible to finish a race there cos of all the noobs

Well I think that LFS is for all kind of driving, Race, Drift, Rally, stunt etc. You can't say it's just RACE simulator because it has excellent physics for all kind of driving

Maybe we need more population on all kind of servers.
I personally like to do all Race, Drift and Rally and would like to have nicelly populated servers for all of them.

BTW: Can't see Saiko^D or Orange server at the moment.

Yeah Drive thru and Stop & Go are two different things.

My logic:
If you have been given Drive thru penalty you can go and drive thru pit line and do the pit stop at the same time because you eventually do drive thru the pit line.

Stop & Go is more complicated I think. If you have certain timelimit on Stop & Go and you're going to do the actual pitstop you do this:
Do your pitstop -> wait the timelimit given with the Stop & Go penalty -> go racing.

That is if you are allowed to do your penalties at the same time as pitstops

Drift servers were pretty good apart from few not so good where people would vote you out just because the could.
To be honest I was shocked by the fact that there aren't many good drift servers among S2 servers. Most of them aren't populated enought. I mean 2/40 isn't good is it?

I would like to see more decent and populated drift servers in S2.

Yeah I noticed that a while ago

Some people are just ramming because you have UF1 and 6/30 license points.
But well, there are plenty of other servers. Racing servers are usually pretty nice and people treat each other quite well. :Handshake
