Quote from (SaM) :I'm working on that now, I've replied to one of those business opportunities with an anonymous Gmail account. I'm waiting for his reply so I can take the piss out of him. If it's funny enough I'll post it here.

I once tried that and actually put some effort for my mail looking as much real as possible.

But the damn Nigerian never answered.

I was getting very drunk last night and saw the add and was like wtf I have on my vodka bottle.

But yea it seems it's real.

It's weird that they ain't giving more credit to the actual Live For Speed.

Sucks that they are broadcasting it on MAX instead of the free MTV3.

Yeah, as like I already said in the other thread (which was suggesting for using the alphas to create sunroofs etc.).
I think that it could be a good if it would be possible to adjust the "shiny-level" of skin / parts of it by just simply "painting" an alpha channel to it. Of course with some restrictions so chrome cars wouldn't be possible.

Quote from S14 DRIFT :I think the newer, more modern engines are better than the older ones, but of course that's just my opinion. You always hear of the old Escort head-gasket going, for example - Modern engines are built with new technologies with more technology to tighter tolerances. I'd like to believe that something like a new Focus would be much more reliable than an equivalently powered Escort from 15 years ago.

If you'll go to vocational school to learn for car mechanic, they will probably teach you that modern engines aren't as reliable as they used to be. And that is because of those tight tolerances and modern technics!

They have a lot more of things to brake down. And tight tolerances mean that when something starts to wear the engine will stop running or instantly loose half of it's power, because it was designed to work in tight tolerances.

On another hand the 20 year old banger wasn't designed for tight tolerances, they made to last. So when the old engine has wearen off half of it's camshaft it will make a lot of noise, but keep running.
A modern engine in this state will stop. At least the ECU will go nuts and refuse to start the engine.

Hmmm... This forum has some issues yes, but people bragging isn't one of them.

I can't really think anyone who has been doing that?

Quote from JO53PHS :
Nvidia GeForce 8400M GT

Oh yes. I would still guess it has something to do with Nvidia drivers. For me the nv4_disp.dll (or what it was called) is very unstable sometimes, especially in rF. Try different drivers, old and new, try the Wombats Nvidia dll patch for rF and pray for luck with it working.

For me it is the praying what seems to be working. Sometimes.

Quote from squidhead :Picking up from where Watson left, I'd like a bit of variety in a nearly 5 minute video since it felt like watching the same 1 minute video 5 times in a row, and a bit of editing and cuting when you're switching between cameras would do it good. Also at least a colour correction would be nice.

I kinda guessed that some may find it lacking some variety. But basically my idea was to make intro and then just simply play the one lap with few different cameras so I don't really know how to make it more interesting any more.
I did color correction, but didn't want it to be too aggressive to keep the footage more "raw gameplay". Dunno if it was good decision or not, some may like some may not.

Quote from squidhead : And why didn't you remove the rest of the hud from the screen?

I will do some quoting to answer this one:

Quote from BigPeBe :
Quote from feat :you could press shift+f even for lap times

Thanks for the tip, I thought there had to be a way to do that but was a bit too lazy to actually find out.

This is basically my first LFS video I've made.

And first of all, I do know that discussion about body mods is forbidden here (I think), but I don't see the moral problem with posting this so I posted.
If moderators, devs or someone in the powerhandle decides otherwise feel free to edit / delete / post in this thread or what you want.

And if it lightens someones heart, I'll just say the gameplay was done in my friends computer, because I don't own illegal mods.

It features AE86 drifting in Westhill and for one clip in South City too.

Here it is, in Youtube, please watch in HQ.

Feel free to tell your opinion.

Yeah, recording digibox is a must have. I record everything I want to watch and watch it with at least 5 min of delay so I have no commercials.

Just do tons of research and start practicing with something. rF features many different filesystems and you will need a lot of different programs to do a whole car or track from scratch.

You could start with opening different files the cars have with notepad and start figuring out how things work in rF. If you modify something make backups.

It will take tons of hours to learn enough to do a whole car properly. I don't think there is a tutorial what includes the whole lot, I think there even is multiple ways of doing different stuff.

I had some quite similar problems with rF. It was FFDShow codec. It sometimes asked me if I'll use that codec in the current application when playing rF and when that happened rF freezed. If you have FFDShow you will have to config it to not to use it with rF.

Also do you have Nvidia card? From what I have experienced Nvidia isn't able to do proper drivers what will work with rF. Usually when I try to load a big track (like Nordschleife) and more than 30 cars the game will crash, or drivers will crash, or I will get BSOD or if I'm lucky I will get to the game but with AA and AF missing.

What. Why. SUVs are one of the most useless cars ever. And they don't suit for racing.

If I'm not completely mistaken, my, or more like ours first PC had a Windows 3.0, but we didn't usually use the graphical interface. I was so young that I wasn't even able to read back then, but dad teached me how to launch my favorite games spelling "pelit" (games) and then ie. TIM (The Incredible Machine). Also played the old good Accolade games on it.

I have no clue about the specs of the PC.

Quote from ATC Quicksilver :Battlefield.

I so wanted to be the first to say that, but it's, or at least was so awesome MP FPS game on it's time that I have to confirm, yes it's BF1942.

Quote from theirishnoob :yes but the gt40 is ugly anyways

No, GT40 is really a proper hardcore looking car. It looks, goes and sounds like pure awesomeness. Well of course it depends what engine you put in there, when we are talking about replicas.

Cars like GT40 aren't supposed to be compared with modern cars, the thrill and feeling and everything is just in it's own level and no modern car can do the same.

Quote from JJ72 :a GT40 replica kit is considerately less expensive than a real GT40, about ten times less expensive perheps.

Yea, but even the replicas cost a fortune.

Quote from mrodgers :I saw "88 civic" then clicked on the link without reading any more. I thought after looking at the pictures, "I hope you didn't pay any more than $500 for that heap...." then read the rest of your post.

Yeah and no offense or anything, but I wouldn't be so surprised he sold it to you. When you offered 500 he was probably thinking it's his lucky day.

Civic's like that go for 100euros around here. I also have driven a one and it was truly a horrid car. Old Civic could be good in a nice race spec (for fwd at least) but as a stock granny car those are really hideous (like other 80's fwd japs are too).

But well, anyone to their own of course.

Quote from trebor901 :wow! where u get that picture?

From my HD. I can't remember where I downloaded it originally, I just picked it from my wallpaper "archive". When I found it I was probably googling for "dual monitor wallpapers" or something similar.

Hmmm. I sometimes dream that I dream about dreaming of owning a GT40.

That's pretty much as close as I can get. You're a millionaire or something?

And as you can probably already imagine I would go for the GT40.
