Yes, this would be crucial for the single player mode, but the single player mode isn't crucial for LFS
So, definitely needs improvement, but I don't think it's a priority. Personally I prefer offline racing to online racing, but I accept the fact that it isn't what LFS is supposed to be about.
Mkinnov, people who lack the ability to drive the BF1 adequately, much less race it properly, should practice somewhere else than in online races. Also, being a newbie and being new to BF1 are very different things.
Yep.. and you can drive it pretty freely with the TC set to 10% - you can even do some low-angle powerslides with it. I am yet to try whether it works independently on each rear wheel, so that with an open diff it could keep both tires on the very limit.
You should have probably posted this in the beginner forum.
The haze effect produces a slight fog, more noticeable in cloudy conditions. I'm not sure which rubber buildup you mean - you can disable the skidmarks by setting "Disable rubber: All" in the graphics options, and you can disable the more "general" rubber buildup by setting "Update path: off" in the misc options.
To my understanding, you can get TC in pretty much any modern car from the factory. Certainly on a car like the FXO Turbo.
And even if it isn't often used in racing situations, it would still be neat to see how it works on FWD cars etc
Hopefully someone will make a LFStweak-esque program which you could use to experiment with TC offline on any car. For one, I'd like to compare tyre wear and lap times for the XFR with and without TC.
I must admit, LFS feels quite realistic now. I was kind of suprised though - as much as I liked it, I went back to playing Oblivion in less than 10 minutes
The MRT is based on a real car, so slapping bigger mirrors on it wouldn't be realistic either. Not that you would see the oncoming traffic from your mirrors anyway
Now that you mention it, I've barely touched LFS since the release of S2 alpha so it might be my experiences are from the S1 era. Perhaps it doesn't work anymore like it used to.
OK. I still don't quite know what this "ghosting" is, but personally I duplicate the partition with Partition Magic and it works. I haven't touched HL2 or GTR so I don't know about those.
Hmm.. maybe I have the wrong idea about ghosting. Anyway, I have three partititions - C has Windows, D has LFS and the third is a backup partition of a clean Windows installation. Whenever I need to reinstall, I just copy the backup partition over C and LFS still works after that - cannot see why it shouldn't...
