The online racing simulator
all the gameplay footage seen so far doesn't show much promise with the physics, it looks mechanical, although the grip limit does seem to be much more realistic now.
so what golf GTI will be in the game?
if it's the golf V I couldn't be arsed, but if they got a lot of old cars too, THAT would be nice.
As in, the closest thing to Gran Turismo for PC

Gameplay footage aka those two Jeuxvideo.fr videos, which were removed?
Quote from Furiously-Fast :Is that Nissan modified, and further more, is that the amuse bodykit?!?!?:jawdrop:

Wow, this game looks to be awesome! Now who said NFS being developed by sim racing creaters was a bad idea?

Looks like a nismo R35 to me.

This game does look very nice. Lets just hope it performs as well as it looks.

Those helmets! I wish LFS had helmets like that
Quote from LFSn00b :
It looks like though that you can modify cars, i SINCERELY hope it will not be like autosculpt crap where you can adjust the rims and such thing...

Thanks for the correction.

I think Autosculpt MIGHT be back. In some of the old screenshots, the tuned 911 has the same sculptable (if that is a real word, lol.) wide-body-kit. And the GT-R one looks like it has the 'stock autoscuplt' version, where you can create lips for stock parts.

So what SMS are doing is taking ProStreet, and polishing it up. Why can't they call it ProStreet 2?

EDIT: Wait, the Nismo version hasn't got a front lip like that!
Cool stuff. That was the 360 version. There was also a Zonda one for the PS3. Before any console wars start, THEY LOOK THE SAME. But I have found pros and Cons:

Pros:
It has a more stable framerate than Undercover, and it is still in the Beta stage!
The environments are well modelled
Engine sounds!
... so are the cars
Inteligent AI (very ProStreet like too)
And the driver has a reaction (breathing) to crashes....

Cons:
.... which could get annoying after a while.
Sparks are very Burnout 3-like (aka Cartoony)
And the understeer problem has returned from ProStreet.
Damage is only cosmetic
The guy in the Cayman can't drive
Red and white barriers... oh wait, that is a LFS problem. nvm.

Well I'm guessing that would encourage more people to use the brake button. I'm guessing that will a problem online when someone rams you while your in first at the last corner, which ruins your race.
Yeah, that would suck.. The zonda vid looks like PGR mixed with Forza , seems pretty good so far, cant wait to play it
Here is a cool interview from a NFS fan site:

Looks like SMS are keeping most of the info under the hood. But seriously, 1,000 vinyl Layers?! I won't be suprised if no-lifers create real racing car reps!
That pic with the porsche and the elise is yummy! Shots like that make me wanna play that, NOW! I really look forward to this actually.
Quote from Ovidiu23 :Yummy (Nissan GTR and Ford GT)

I hope they will feature also the original GT40 one. The modern GT is just lame in comparison.

Tho TBH I don't really care, I already have the GT40 in rF HGTTC.

So overall the bits of info about this game are looking too promising.
It can't be that good really? Oh well I'll be glad if it will.
Same track as in ProStreet. For some reason after looking at these pics, it doesn't seem right... It seems to be a really strange mix of NFS>GTR2-ish. Dunno, hard to explain, I just don't really like how everything goes
That looks sexy

That is a fantasy track from ProStreet - Tokyo Dockyard - Shimbashi but driving backwards from the ProStreet version. Here's a video from ProSteet, with it's hyper-peformance Zonda as opposed to the more realistic Porsches in the youtube video, the circle with minus is because I'm driving the track backwards:

That's Brands Hatch. Since 25 ex-GTR employees are now part of the shift team, a video of Brand Hatch from GTR Evolution, Formula 3000 race car:

that looks JUST like Prostreet...
Quote from chavm481 :that looks JUST like Prostreet.

Yes but the physics is clearly different as the cars aren't pulling 5 g's in the turns the way the do in ProStreet.
Oversteer and understeer seems to be present ... still... I believe it will be a little bit more realistic Grid .

Btw. Why the hell even "realistic" games have unrealistic turning angle of the steering wheel , it ruins the immersion.
Quote from Byku :Oversteer and understeer seems to be present ... still... I believe it will be a little bit more realistic Grid .

Over/understeer are present, yeah. But looking at those videos of the Zonda, when the back breaks out, it takes a second, and he can just full trottle again
It was irony , i meant that even a slight(unrealistic?) over or understeer in NFS series is a huge success .
Quote from Byku : Why the hell even "realistic" games have unrealistic turning angle of the steering wheel , it ruins the immersion.

If you mean the turn angle is to small I dont think its unrealistic. just in sport cars are small wheels and small angle to make turning easier, cars are more responsive thx to it.
Of course! 540*, 720*, 1080*... but 180*!? Stock Zonda or Porsche? :|
the only 2 games i can recall that have realistic wheel turn animation is LFS and Project Torque (even though Project Torque is awful)

Even iRacing doesnt have realistic turn angle animation
