i've just been playing the PAL game for about 2 hours with three different cars
suzuki swift sport 07
mitsubishi lancer evolution x gsr 08 (reason i wanted game)
suzuki cappucino 95

and so far the cars seem to feel pretty difficult to drive
on professional physics mode with traction, stability, and steering aids turned off.
im using manual atm and its actually quite an experience
the swift feels really light and slow off the line, has a fair bit of bodyroll but you can flick it into corners to cancel out understeer and cause some oversteer

the lancer is much heavier but alot faster and is probably my favourite, mainly because of the tremendous amount of grip and the fact that it drives like a rally car when you push it too much

the suzuki cappucino is quite slow but probably the easiest to throw into corners because it is so light, and it can even get lift off oversteer and perform some nice mid corner drifts if you come in too hot.

i find that going at highspeed in this game the car starts to wobble and feel light which is quite scary to behold and im pretty sure gt4 or gthd demo didnt have that, like the car gets twitchy and nervous...

i havent compared it to lfs yet because i havent spent enough time with it, but so far im in love with the incar view, range of cars that i want to buy in RL, and the fact that it supports my g25 with clutch pedal (a first for ps3 i think but im still using gamepad)

i will probably be able test some high powered rwd cars tomorrow night and let you know what i think

thanks for reading this post that went for longer than i expected
omg!

Quote from Jamexing :Just wondering, why is there no long sleeved shirt with the full coloured LFS logo? Although personally I wished that the LFS logo are a bit bigger. Pictures of your chosen LFS car in front and back would be a very welcome touch.

BTW, Victor, what's the cost for sending these shirts to Australia, including all other possible costs from taxation to who knows what kinds of charges are imposed? I would really like to know the price range.

shipping doesnt cost that much

i got three shirts including shipping for about $99aud
just waiting for them to arrive now

i havent saved that much :P
since S2:
i bought a driving force pro for like $250 because my formula force gp hand-me-down wasnt cutting it(no force feedback).

then two months later i bought a $280 AUD desk from ikea to use with my steering wheel

then october 06' rolled along and i bought a g25 for $499 AUD (When i could have paid 440 if i waited one week and checked other stores)

just recently i bought some Logitech premium usb headphones which were for late night driving marathons - $50

so this game cost me $1079

but it was very worth it

Quote from Hankstar :Ah, the dying art of waiting for an opponent! Well done, whoever that was
You more commonly see this on GP Legends servers (however I think this is partly due to the fact that most GPL servers are sparsely populated unless an organised event is on. It's always better to slow down and wait so you can race someone - especially since they may well be the only other racer online ).

it was cstech,
i finally remembered

Quote from spankmeyer :No.

But this is teh internets where people act like dummies sometimes.

Far majority of LFS licensed users are good people. Just like Gandalf.

rofl, bearded people usually are good,
unless they are bikies!

on a more serious note

i witnessed the good sportsmanship of this racing game a couple of weeks ago, i was having a huge race with at least 10 people, 70% were xrr and fzr, but me and two other racers wanted to race in mrts. so we had done about 3 laps of really close racing, when i made a small mistake and clipped the dirt, while i was slowly makig my way back onto the track, i noticed an mrt about 200m down the road, and a message saying hurry up!
the dude had actually waited for me to return to the track before racing!!

i was soo impressed by this

mind you its the only time i've seen it happen

the racers username slips my mind, but it might have started with a c.

you wont see this kind of sportsmanship in any other racing game

was it on their credit card?

if not i dont see how they could cancel it.

are they the type of parents who despise videogames and think that they are a waste of time?

im having a blast using my g25,
im racing much fairer and causing less pileups mainly due to being able to recover from slides

im slowly getting better at it,

but i occasionally miss a gear still

Quote from spankmeyer :That does it, I'll bitchslap the next American/Australian/G25-holding-person I meet.

im surprised we actually got something before the uk to be honest,

we are usually the last country to get pc games, consoles etc.

but yeah, i checked with a guy at harvey norman last month
and he was told the 31st of october,
so it doesnt make much sense that the date was three weeks ahead of schedule.

Quote from mrfell :To all those who live in a country where you drive on the left hand side of the road.....

When you get your new G25, are you going to shift on the left?
ATM, i've got a DFP which shifts on the right, but i'm going to have my shifter on the left, anyone else going to do the same.

yep
i use mine on the left for all games

its so much better than my dfp in that aspect

right hand shifting feels weird to me,

people on the other side of the world would be completely opposite,

so it depends on where you learnt to drive :P

scuse the horrible pic quality, its a mobile phone

i have tried this wheel and absolutely love it!

mind you i have only played gtr2 because its my mates computer and wheel,(i have convinced about 2 other friends to get the wheel and play lfs though so its all good )

the immersion you get when having to clutch and change gears is so much better than dfp paddles :P

force feedback is much better than dfp

i only got my dfp in july, now i need a g25!

im trying to find a wheel in perth western australia
but no stores seem to have one yet illepall

i just thought id post in this thread with my opinion of the wheel after 10 mins of play, hope it helps some people.

quick question to g25 owners:
whats richard burns rally like??
