@DANIEL-CRO - i like the current physics and the update will make them even more enjoyable. And i said a few days not 10min.
Quote from Ingolf :You do that. Does seam like a waste of time for both you and us at LFS reading your pointless words, doesn't it?

You don't have to be rude. If you don't want to read my pointless words, stop reading now.
I just don't understand why is everybody expecting that everyone on this forum should say how awesome lfs is, and how it's the best sim ever.
I don't understand either what is all that fuss about. A security patch...
It's obvious that people are waiting for something other than that and that patch is giving them the feeling that a bigger update is coming.

If the game was open for modding i would have bought it long, long, long time ago. It's clear that 1 man only (Scawen) can't satisfy the community, but it's his decision not to hire people to help him. The reasonable answer is to open the game for modding. That way the LFS "purists" will be able to play the game as it is now, the rest will enjoy tons of community content (with the same great physics) that will not take Scawen's time and effort to create and maintain. I mean a free track building and maybe limited vehicle building( for example not be able to alter the physics and the tyre model, but free on the suspension layout and geometry, weight, and 3d model, engine torque curves, etc)

I will stop wasting my time writing that stuff now. (and apparently everybody else's for reading it)

It's amusing to see how people misunderstand half of what they read.

@cargame.nl - both singleplayer and multiplayer but as i said only for a few days
@spotty1 - you obviously don't really know what rfactor is about. The stock cars are s#it basically, and there are only a few tracks. he community content is what is really great about it, although more than 50% of it is crap also, but the other 50% is really great.
@JazzOn - i don't "only care about the imerssion" - i've never said that - if i only cared about that i would be playing foza/gt/nfs shift. rFactor has a very good base for the physics and the good mods are able to utilize them.

I can't expect different comments since i highly doubt that many people here have bought rFactor/iRacing/or simbin's games that i lost count of. I was at first disappointed with rFactor too, but once i found the right mods it all came together.

Don't get me wrong - i was actively racing in LFS and i love the physics of the street tires. To that day i do believe that there is no other sim that simulates street tires better, and it will be even better with the tire update (if it comes out some day).

I do not want to argue anymore about my personal opinion.
All people are different, everybody should understand that.

I haven't said that i am waiting 4 years to buy it. Played the demo a bit, and waited for the promised new physics. For a long time LFS is not an interesting project for me. For the last few years i play rFactor and won't switch to anything else, i am just curious about the new physics and that's why i check the forum from time to time. But if the new physics actually some day arrive - i will try them for a couple of day's but that's it. I will not buy the game, i will not play the demo, certainly will not crack it (as you meant it in your post). I had a great time with lfs - i was playing the demo since S1 - LFS is the sim that taught me how a car handles. Today, sadly LFS doesn't have any value for me and it will never have, because it lacks the vast content that rRactor has, most importantly - the tracks. I don't care if it's the best sim on the planet, i want to race on the world's best tracks and roads. Driving a Porsche 935 on Nordschlife, R8 GT3 on Monza, or SL300 on Monaco. There are many examples - the only thing that comes close to what i want to drive in LFS is the Porsche on Rockingham, but i've allready done that on rFactor with even better car - PCC 997. (all the humongous content for 35eur - and if i want to buy the S3 with barely any content (that concerns me) it will cost me 45eur)

So, to sum it up - i want to try the new physics and delete the game.
(but if some day LFS will be opened for community tracks and cars i will be glad to play it again and finally buy it)

@Nadeo4441 it's the same as nothing, don't fool yourself.

Quote from ldriver :Oh my god, a patch

Yes, that patch will drastically change the game, totally worth the (almost) 4 years waiting from the patch Z (July 2nd 2008).

That's easy - servers with modified tag.
If you don't want to see these servers you simply filter them and play on the original LFS.
But of course lfs is dead an the devs will never make that happen. It's not very hard - i know that but they won't make it.

A compromise would be custom tracks only.

Indeed you have to make 2 lfs registrations - one for you and one for your brother. I guess that the ingame name must be different also.

Man, too much contrast - it's not realistic at all. Too colorful, too dark at places.

I am not amused. :geezer:

Quote from Chupacabras84 :Its like we talking about two different games
For me its till the first mistake which is always unrecoverable.
Its makes driving long tracks very hard because in my experience losing friction in rfactor in most mods mean not drift but eating the sand in best case.

Well increase the lock then. Simple. I am very satisfied with rfactor. Well i cannot make long drifts - but i do not need to - i race, and i spin very, very rarely with any mod i play. There are some great mods out there.

I do have a wheel. I do think that the physics and the feel are great. The game just misses real tracks. Badly. Silverstone by far would not fix that. Besides - the guys who don't want new tracks wouldn't download them. It's simple. Community tracks and multiplayer can play together nicely, too - just there could be 2 master servers - one for the original stuff, other for the community tracks. That way the guys who want lfs to be like it is now wouldn't complain.

Look at the old news http://www.lfs.net/?page=oldernews
LFS was being developed back then. It was nice.

You *might* get a new car and a new track. Maybe. I am sorry for the guys who have hopes of better LFS. But no - we will never see more decent real life tracks. And the tracks make the race sim. I had tons of fun playing on real life tracks on rFactor. I do see the point of that, since they exist and i am hoping to make a few laps on some of them someday. I have made a lot of BW laps, almost all in the XFG - LFS used to amuse me with it's great feel but that's it. I want real tracks. I want monza, nordschleife, spa, laguna seca, donington etc. That's a good reason i haven't bought the game yet - i have waited for some development, didn't got it, stopped playing, i won't buy it. I want real hillclimbs, exciting cars. Since of the LFS politics of not letting community track creations, we will never get such things. If there was a way i can drive in lfs on the Nordschleife - i am buying it this second. It will be totally worth it. I don't care who created the track - if it feels good and accurate - i am buying it.

I am waiting for rFactor 2 - at least that's a sim i know it will be good, and know that it is being developed. In fact i will preorder it as soon as i can.

Keep dreaming you guys, i decided not to. Sorry i can't call it actively developed game, you will see none of the cars you wish to be included. Think about it, most of you play the game since S1. Remember what changed in the game the past 4 years? Tiny stuff, it could be alot more for those years.

What if you have 2 OS'es? Do you have to reactivate LFS when switching from one to another?

Man that's got to be the worst suggestion ever. Why would you ever need this crap. I don't really even need a driver - a sandbag will do just fine - just for the weight .
I totally lost interest in LFS now. I am going to play some minecraft, make a Nordschleife lap or two, maybe Laguna seca lap (or two), leave the work for tomorrow

@GreyBull
@Everybody
It's time to stop bitching about every suggestion.
Few people like that nothing changed in LFS
Most of the people would like new things. As far as i know the cars and tracks haven't changed for like 5 years. If you don't count FBM, that i assume only demo users drive. I am sure that LFS will be far more popular and enjoyable game if there was support for community tracks. And don't give me that crap that the tracks won't be high-quality

I am curious about petrol price in the US.
Right now in Bulgaria petrol will reach 1.3E/l
That's 4.92Eur/US Gal
That's roughly 7$/Gal
What's the petrol price in the USA?

How about a DS3 150THP
I think, it's looking great, it's very practical, very nice interior, very nice seats, not that expensive, not hard on the bumps, smaller than the megane, great engine!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tE-Pgs1wBxw
Of course DS3 racing is even better, but it's limited and expensive.

I don't have the money so i have a 750 Eur Citroen ZX Not very powerful but maybe the best riding hatchback that handles great too, but if i had the money - definitely DS3 150THP or if i want a bit bigger car DS4 200THP

Do you have a race track nearby? If yes - i suggest you to buy a bit boring cheap practical car, and with the remaining money buy an old car and make it a trackday car. Look briefly at that thread - http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/f ... index.php?showtopic=22724
There are only a few pages, look at the pics of the car and how it evolved.
