Otherwise, lovely little MX5 you've got there.

Law states it has to be on the nearside of the window. Draw a line down the middle of the car, it can be anywhere on that side as long as it is visible from the kerb. Probably worth noting if plod thing it'll obscure the drivers view, it is a a ticketable offence.

I don't get why you'd want it on the drivers side anyway?

Mine lives in the upper passenger side (mounted with cellotape no less)
Is it possible to fit a car in that garage?

To be unique I assume. I slap mine in the bottom left as it puts it inside my wiper sweep without being in my FoV. I regularly get a muddied up windscreen which can cover the tax disc. Which would be illegal. Although I do mount it at 45° CCW which makes it easier to read.

I'm a good boy I is. :dunce:

Swept windscreen area is valuable looking space - the top of my windscreen doesn't get that opaque you can't see through it!

That means you aren't driving it properly!

My wipers on the left go so far down it clashes with the bonnet, so is unusable space.

But yes, for a normal road automacar, I doubt your windscreen would every get dirty enough that it matters. T'is why it is common to have it mounted behind the rear view mirror (Mini and MkI&II Escort for example)

Yep

Wheels are provisionally sold
I wanted a mk1 but couldn't find a reasonably priced rust free one
Radiator is no longer there
Tax disc was already there

I did buy it from a chav hence the wheels and placement of reg and tax disc, also had a great big teddy on the tow hook and a stupid sticker saying 'cruising is not a crime'
Good to hear those wheels went. So are you selling the garage, cause I'm pretty sure I've got a car that'd fit & I'd love one!
doesnt take much to make it look real good !

first day going top down

Yeah, peugeot plastic
17's gone
looks like it is jacked up instead of lowered.

Those wheels are so much nicer. I recall seeing some on a Mk1 a while back, it looked boss. As much as I hate myself for saying this... needs moar low. I feel dirty but that does look a bit weird sat that high.

Just got to move the tax disc now and all is good.
Coilovers are getting ordered next pay day and the tax disc has gone
Kinda like an aftermarket take on the factory hollow spoked 1st gens, but sportier. Just an opinion, but it could use a factory front lip as well, (to tie in with the lower rocker line). Once she's settled, the nose line being a bit higher, (by design), won't be as apparent though. I should be ordering some MkII door panels/getting ready to do that swap soon. Hopefully later this year I'll get around to swapping dash's as well. Gotta get the BJ done & sorted first though!

Yeah been considering lips, unsure of where i want to go with the car yet though. Either really nice and simple with leather buckets, leather wheel and nice subtle lip and spoiler or go balls out with a huge BGW and front splitter

Keep it nice and tidy, you might regret putting something hideous like a huge front splitter on it later on.

Agreed. Keep all most clean and subtle. You'll be unique in that you haven't ruined your car with silly fibreglass parts and a subframe that scrapes on the ground.
i would like to respray it but i'm unsure seeing as the car has done 130k i feel as it's a waste if the mechanicals aren't up to scratch
Paint it black and put a big number 3 on the side. You'll get all the chicks.

Respray as in a different color, or the same? 130k's nothin for a Miata & there's not all that much real estate to paint. If same color, I wouldn't hesitate in the slightest. (100k on mine, planning a fresh coat & supercharger before summer ) Miata's are known to be tanks. Sold my '91 to dude with 200k on it & his intention was an engine swap. 2y/40k later & he still can't kill the lil B-series & I beat the piss outta it for the previous 100k!

Then do a full rubber parts replacement (bushes, belts, etc.).
Get the chassis waxoiled properly which injects the stuff into the rails rather than just painting over them. Rust is the main reason they get binned.
Change oils and filters every 6k.

She'll be good for at least another 100k. Engines aren't as fragile as they were in the 60s when you'd struggle to get past 80k. 200k+ is easily achievable, a lot of modern engines are able to break 300k without breaking a sweat. The biggest let down is still rust. I was looking at early 00s S-Classes to replace my RR with and most of them have done high 200k low 300k with plenty of miles left in them. My 97 van had over 200k on the clock when I traded it in to get my current car.

130k is nothing.
00 S class? those have the bigges rust issues on bottom of doors mostly. it was a recall
