Morrowind badly optimized?
Oh hell yeah!

Yeah, I never thought TES needed some high end PC. Played Oblivion on mid with no problems.

Anyway, by the end of the video - is that an release date? 11.11.11?
Long wait if so.
Quote from Lible :Morrowind badly optimized?

Yes. if you read a bit over the net ( Even in the Oficial Morrowind forum ) you can see there is ppl with c2q / 4gb ram / radeon 4870 - 5870 with a vanilla morrowind (And the 2 exp ) the game runs at 40fps max / others to 50 / and when you are in seyda Neen fps drops to 15 or 20

Everyone who know a bit of bethesda know that his game engine are poorly optimized,

Like fallout and star trek legacy and TeS saga

I'be played Oblivion with my crappy pc ( p4 3.6ghz HT / 1,5gb ram / radeon 9550 ( The 4650 just die) and with loots of mod that optimize the fps ( Such scripts / low poly grass / cell buffer refresh and other mores ) i'be able to run the game at decent fps rate within 20 to 50 fps in heavy zones of "War" like the final gate of oblivion when you have to stop the siege machine from the oblivion plains fps drops from 40 to 14 ( With shadows (No tree canopy shadows or grass shadow) With high res textures and 800x600 / normal water reflections and max out the distant land LoD also show trees at distant land LoD

Yeah, thats the release date

Im looking forward to this too, ive played morrowinds since the 3rd one, was it? Bethesta has always suprised us with the new epic graphics. Last time they did that with Oblivion, remember?
I'd rather go play WoW.

^lol

Well, last "Game" from bethesda was the expancion of fallout New vegas So we can expect a bit more

Well, yeah. Maybe they were just a bit lazy. Using the same graphics engine, same old bugs etc.

But i hope they come up with a brand new engine this time. They should ... to support DX11 and stuff like that. I would love to see that epic terrain with tesselation.
this game is on a completely new engine

Quote :Nick Breckon, Bethesda Softworks’ community manager, has confirmed that the brand new Elder Scrolls game announced last night, Skyrim, will run on an “all-new” engine.

“We can now confirm that the TES V: Skyrim engine is all-new,” Breckon said. “And it looks fantastic.”

As ZeniMax (Bethesda’s owner) also owns id Software, the id Tech 5 engine was on the cards, but that’s obviously out of the window. Either way it’s good to hear the shitty faces and character movement in Gamebryo will be a thing of the past.

Sorry to bump pointlessly, but I only just realised that they had announced the 5th in the series! Was about to make a thread but thankfully the search engine actually did it's job properly for me for once. Really can't wait, love the Elder Scrolls series!

yes! and this time i will have a pc that can run it! (hopefully :O)
I got my Oblivion for the PS3, as at the time my computer was a heap of junk and didn't do Oblivion's beautiful scenery justice. The only problem with that is of course you cannot update it with community mods like higher res textures etc if you do have a beastly PC. Still it's nice to be able to play Oblivion with a pad and not have to worry about cables. It allows me to lie back and relax while playing, despite the slightly worse graphics compared to what the PC version will allow. Should be able to run this new one on my PC at near max settings *touch wood* but might just get it for PS3 again so I can lounge around being lazy. One of my favourite hobbies

Wish they'd put Mysticism back in....That'll hurt mages.

(I went through Oblivion as a mage. Ouch)
Quote from mutt107 :this game is on a completely new engine

That's complete marketing bull. You never completely start over.
