Post a replay. Whenever ANYONE says its wrong they are NEVER willing to post a replay to show what they believe is the issue.
As others have said, only a few complain and they are ALWAYS at fault.
BTW: If you have not tweaked you clutch pedal in DXTweak your clutch on the G25 does not operate ANYTHING like yours real cars pedal. By default with G25 the clutch is on ever fully in when pressed 100% down and fully out when lifted 100%. Your real car probably has about 20-30% of travel that actually does anything.
I must admit, some of what I counted as corners was a bit of a streach but otherwise I might have argued loads away
Some were probably 5deg turns in road direction. I based on the fact that if I could look at side of the road in the distance and see the direction change at a point it was a corner.
For me its a matter of depth. Samples give more instant wow factor but can never give the detail of a synth based system. I love the way you can hear the engine bog down when you bodge using the clutch and also hear the engine try to spin up and rev match if you fail to do it yourself
Shows the last time I really worked in C++, I am more C# nowdays.
Cant understand why void main() was blocked though tbh. It it is required for any bootstrap/startup could it could just handle void main() {} as the same as int main() { return 0; }. Just a bit too anal.
Probably why I moved to c#, to avoid the baggage C++ carries with it. C# really is a far nicer language, all the benefits of C++ without all the crap that was layered over it.
Right, I drive across the Canterbury planes into the edge of Christchurch near the airport each day to work. The total distance each way is about 54Km.
The plain have VERY sparse population density and lots of straight road. Lets see who can guess closest to the number of corners I have to take in the journey door to door.
We also need to define what a corner means. Is is a 10degrees kink in the road? 5deg?
I have never really counted so this should be interesting, how many corner per/Km lol
The longest straight road on the plains in about 30Kn without a corner at all. I am happy to say I dont have to take that road, its a nightmare
Pointless for most of the cars and if allowed EVERYONE would be FORCED to use to keep up. The charm of the road cars is the fact they are NOT on slicks
lol, you need serious hardward to get the GFX detail up anywhere near the quality of GFX that LFS gives, otherwise its just blur city and looks like a V old game tbh. System requirements are far far higher than LFS.
As I said, make PRIVATE servers able to select weather and public servers subject to weather. Show me a league server that is not private and I will show you a moron admin
Time of day should not be on a central server though because the world is a big place and places like NZ people would be forced to race at night all the time because of the time shifts, just stupid.
It sounds like your install could be corrupt, no being able to switch to designer view with a blank form sounds messed up to say the least.
What version of VS are you using, that said even the free one comes with form designer.
If you are on Vista try giving VS admin privs and make sure your user is configured as admin. Dev environments are harsh on a machine as they allow access down into the guts of Windows and install system level hooks all over the place to allow debugging etc.
People say the GFX are better in rF but I recently re-installed rF to take a look as my new lappy is capable enough to run the monster system hog.
I have to say I have yet to find a track in rF that looks anything as good as BL or SO. I have LFS GFX almost maxed and apart from the day/night lighting every track I have found for rF just looks cartoon and the corners and racing line are more just a connected set of straight lines instead of a curve.
Can someone please point me in the direction of a track that is even close to the quality of some of the LFS tracks GFX wise so I can download and try it.
Its just the way you said you could not nunit the UI. All you need is tests up to the controller. The view should have zero code of worth or complexity if done right and you can drive and test everything through the controller
That said, it took my company quiet a while to bite the bullet and use tests. Months of kicking and fighting and it has push out or timelines a HUGE amount. It has already paid for itself though.
It did take a good 6 months to find our feet though and get a solid frame in place
Sounds more like Object C, the language that was the stepping stone between C and C++
Makes sense TBH. As soon as you start to add virtual routing and the clutter that true OO in C++ brings you are just adding complexity that is not required when speed is the key, as is the case with LFS
1 letter variables I remember those days
char c = ...
for (int i = ...
Those 2 are a habbit I still find hard to shake 20 years later lol
Quick question on the project. Is this one you have grabbed from somewhere else or a form you have constructed.
If is comes from somewhgere else its hard to say but they might have a copy of VS higher up the chain than yours and have assemblies you dont have access to, If you have constructed the form the question becomes what was the last thing you did before you got the error, this is normally the cause.
+1 from me. Has come up before though a few times.
Just make private servers have selectable weather and all public servers subject to different conditions. Job done Cant see any league race ever being run on public servers, too much risk of wreckers etc.
I know some people prefer no wind etc so they can get PBs but who cares. The better driver is the one that can deal with whatever is thrown at them
