Quote from tristancliffe :To change the oil yourself:

Warm engine up with a 10 minute gentle drive (skip this step if you really have no idea what you're doing as burning yourself looking for the right bits is worse than the oil taking ages to drain and not taking all the crap with it).

Locate oil drain plug on the bottom of the engine. NOT the bottom of the gearbox. It will probably be a 14mm AF taper plug, so get your 14mm spanner ready.

Place an old contained under the plug to catch all the oil.

Remove aforementioned plug, and let oil drain into the container.

Whilst that is doing what it does, open the bonnet (hood) and search for the oil filter. It's a round cylinder, probably about two inches tall, on the side of the engine. It'll look a bit like the new one (but might be a different colour).

Use an oil filter strap (or other oil filter tool) remove it by unscrewing it anti-clockwise. When it comes off you will spill some oil, so mop it up quick! The filter may be tight!

Once that's off, clean up the seat of the oil filter area on the engine.

Take new filter, and apply a drop of engine oil onto the seal and spread it over it. This will help the seal.

Screw the oil filter on, being careful not to cross-thread it. Tighten it BY HAND, NOT WITH A TOOL, but quite tight.

Go back under the car, and put the plug back in if it's finished draining. Don't overtighten it as they are taper threads into cast/pressed sumps, and you will crack it. But a normal size spanner and normal human effort will be about right - just got the judge it really.

Go back to the top and unscrew the oil filler cap (the plastic thing with a picture of an oil can on it on the very top of the engine). Fill it with oil - your book will tell you how much.

Every so often check on the dipstick if you've got the right amount in - too much is worse than a bit too little, so don't overdo it.

When it's at the right level, check all caps, bungs, plugs and stuff are done up. Check for leaks (wiping up old oil is a help here). Then go for a short drive to get the oil up to temperature (10 minutes), and check for leaks again.

You are done! Hurrah!

Should take about 10 - 15 minutes, maybe a bit longer if you've not done it before and/or the oil filter is in a hard to reach place.

I just sent that to my girlfriend.

Bear in mind not all traction controls were created equal... cheap ones can be more of a hinderance when you know what you're doing.

Look at the FZ50. Who drives with T/C on in that car?

It'll just slow you down and put an annoying blue light on the dash.

I would always turn the T/C off in my Mini Cooper S if I were going to drive it hard. Very annoying. Enemy of smooth driving.

T/C's even out of F1 this year. I say update the BF1 to 08 and get rid of it altogether. ;]

I've been using these for years. I can't think of anything more you could ever want from a 2.1 system. The woofer can definitely bother your neighbors (it's a 6.5'' driver). Think: Fishman Loudbox for your computer!

$120.82 on amazon.com. I donno about anything cheaper. My brother uses some $300 Creative 5.1 system, but I prefer the Klipsch 2.1.

Edit:
Quote from OneCrazyDiamond :Let's say something below $60.

Oh crap. Can't help you there... save up a little and get something that's worth it?

Could somebody tell me why we need those things in Guam, anyway? or at all?

Complete waste of tax dollars to build them in the first place. The 1.2 billion was already gone before it crashed.

Quote from Osco :Personally, I love the fox, but feels a bit tame compared to the fbm. A little more oomph wouldn't hurt I guess (210-215hp?)

+1

It should be closer to the middle between the FBM and FO8.

If it's being compared to a formula renault, I'd rather it were at the upper registers of being realistic than the lower.

Come to think of it, when I tried once, I was surprised when my car wouldn't start in neutral without my foot on the clutch. It's just as well, though, as it's just extra mass for the starter to get up to speed. I have put the clutch in half way and then dumped it as I'm starting, though—no biggy.

Either way, I always start the car in 1st or R with the clutch in. I make sure it's in gear before starting (just habitually).

Quote from GobLox :You can do that with the button control rate - just like we do for hand-brake and such. Tapping + Control rate = light braking. Being able to press and hold a button such that you get perfect braking everytime is very closely related to the "win" button.

Any button control rate under 10 is self-injury.

KB will never be better than pedals. It doesn't need to be nerfed, and that's all this is a proposal for.

Anyone with pedals has the inherent ability to dial in exactly the right amount of pressure, whenever. The right amount is almost always different.

If people are wasting the money they spent on pedals and always flooring them, it's to their disadvantage.

That was... exciting?

"would of" vs. "would have"--place your bets now!

Quote from mrodgers :False! The bucket was way too low.

It's really an illusion, as the bucket swings around closer to the camera and out of the way. He would have had to jump. The bucket never gets lower than the horizon, and his head never got near that when he was standing upright.

Either way, wearing a hardhat... it wouldn't have been so bad.

Coming from Beverly Hills, this car approaches the cool-factor of a whole garage full of anything else money can buy. Probably going to hear a lot of "wtf did I end up spending twice as much for?" from coworkers and onlookers.

The fact that some people hate diesels is going to make it even more desireable to those who love them.
