Quote from Don :i think it looked the same as lx6, just with exhausts on both sides

Quote from sgt.flippy :Yup, only difference is that exhaust pipe

Excepting the rear fender flares...

Quote from ajp71 :No, I said there's no point in suggesting whether something that doesn't exsist in real life can be added to LFS, a simulation of real life.

http://m-w.com/dictionary/suggest

I find I have a strong point with which to debate that:

Quote from ajp71 :I don't see the point in debating whether something that doesn't exsist IRL can be added to LFS.

(Edit: Links added for apparently needed clarification; I know what you meant, I'm telling you what you said. My exhortation: choose words that say what you mean.)

With the occasional puddle of oil and water...

+1

Something like the skid pad should be smooth though.

It was posted a lot up to a few years ago, but yeah... most people will just tell you that it would cost too much money to license.

However a loooong made-up track... Amen.

Quote from ajp71 :Did you read my post or any of this thread? You appear to oppose the addition of 'drift' tires and my post when my post was opposing the addition of these magical tires.

Right. You implied that if these "magical" tires were introduced you would see no point in debating against that decision (not just for it). I said I see a point.

It takes two sides for a debate.

I do, because LFS is a racing simulator. Fill-in-the-blank isn't simulating racing.

See how long it takes the regular brakes to slow those wheels down.

Quote from Woz :I wish button clutch was removed. People should use a pedals for clutch or auto clutch. A button does not simulate a clutch in any way and can be used to speed up clutch times.

At least I can always shift without clutching. ;]

BL already looks like it 'used to' lack the chicane. What are those red & white barriers doing there?

Same with FE Gold and Black on the front straight--now IMO this one would be cool because you would get airborne. =P

Yeah, well that's definitely better than nothing. Should probably be left up to the admin.

Quote from Doorman :when a race finishes and everyone has crossed the line

You'll wait a year before everyone crosses the line though... what with newcomers fooling around in the pit lane and all. It would have to be a certain time after the race is won. But that's pretty iffy--especially on the longer endu races.

Quote from Xaid0n :but what about those people with mouses/KBs would be a pain having to press a clutch then change gear, and I dont fancy using an auto -1

I have been button-clutching with mouse & KB since 2002, and I "heel-toe." It's the fastest method. If moving your finger is a pain, what's moving your whole leg? illepall

P.S. FYI you change gear ahead of time and hit the clutch key when you're ready to shift.

Don't bash it before you try it.

Yeah, but if stalling is implemented, the clutch is too (infinitely) strong; invincible. Right now, if you wind the RB4 up and drop the clutch in 2nd gear, the clutch will just grab solid and make your tach needle bounce off the pin. If you could stall it, i'd rather burn the clutch a little to be honest (this being a sim).

On a similar note, 4wd shouldn't always be faster at starting than 2wd. There's no way a stock clutch can take more torque than four tyres before slipping.

He meant 20x the testosterone.

Quote from Becky Rose :There is a remote chance I might date a normal guy I first meat in LFS

Now, I've meated girls, but never over the internet--not even from more than half a foot away. How might I use this new technology when racing?

Quote from Vain :I don't like BMWs myself, but I just can't help seeing Manfred Stuck's BMW M3 GTR running over the Nordschleife in my mind whenever I see a BMW...

Anyway, beside a LMP car, which got my vote, I'd like to see the 190hp range populated. A BMW M3 E30 and a Porsche 944 S come to my mind. Then give them some Audi A3 Quattro-like AWD to play with and a new class is born.
All of these in stripped-to-the-bone racing-equipment please. Not one of those goes with more than 1000kg to the track.

Hey, we could call that class "GER" for "German Car Class" .

Hans-Joachim Stuck? I agree about a good Deutsche tourenwagen. Could you really go wrong with any popular German car?

I would die to see a BMW 2002 in LFS.

Quote from cobra193 :Definately need asymetric adjustments. All courses have a directional bias (overall left or overall right). Example BP Normal is right turn biased (BP REV would be left turn biased).

Since you are making MORE right turns than left, you would setup your car to turn right a little easier.

Maybe for most tracks, but I'm sure that notion can be deceptive. For instance, on BL1 (clockwise) the most important, toughest corners are left-handers.

Yet that's if you're hotlapping--on an endurance race your goal would probably be to make the tires to heat as evenly as possible.

Quote from Cue-Ball :Instead of requesting that the H-shifter work with the F1 car, why don't you request that we get a proper 60's no-downforce F1 car instead.

He said all but the F1 car; all but the F1 car have shift levers.

The original noise complained of must be tire noise. Drive 200 mph on the grass and it goes away completely. It gets louder under high Gs too.

In this case it's not unrealistic to hear it as a car drives by you... stand next to a freeway and that's all you'll hear. It does however sound like the cars in LFS are driving on concrete rather than black-top...

Whoa, man you've been in your cockpit too long--that's been around since before S1 (demo days) when tire pressures were introduced, hasn't it? ever fiddle with tire pressures much?

Quote from Honey :when i drive my car at 200 km/h all i can hear is wind noise...and it's pretty huge! i can't even hear the sound of the stereo at full volume!

Must surely depend a lot on the car driven and even its gearing--when I've driven at 200 km/h the engine has always been roaring in the upper-registers of 6th gear. But then I've only driven fast in new sports cars with good insulation.
