I guess it should spend more time in neutral between gears, and if you don't hold your clutch in long enough it won't finish shifting?

FZR seems too high budget for an H-plate though. It would be pretty awkward if the other GTR cars went sequential and it didn't. If any balancing should be tweaked it shouldn't be via shifting means. Paddle shifting wouldn't even be out of place on the regular FZ50.

I would expect more realistic sequentials sooner or later anyway. It must be on Scawen's to-do list.

Edit about my MRT5 example:
Quote from McGill Racing Team :The MRT5 was designed to be as simple as possible to machine and use. A simple stick is pushed or pull to activate the 6 gear sequential transmission. The clutch lever is mounted on that very stick. Squeeze and pull to go up, squeeze and push to go down, as simple as that.

Quote from 510N3D :makes no sense at all btw i have not expected something like that from a so called: Moderator illepall

You know why it doesn't make sense? Because (what he truly meant aside) he didn't say what you think he said.

Quote from Crazy Harry :Erm... why do you want to force cockpit view? You have probs with chase view drivers in race? Are they faster? Or dangerous? Have they more or less view over difficult situations? Can´t understand why someone want to force a cockpit view.

Erm... no blind spots? I donno.

I donno which is worse--not being able to see behind you, or not being able to see your blind spots...

I just use the print screen button and CTRL+V in photoshop anyway. Seems like a button that would be annoying to accidentally hit on second thought.

Quote from Gunn :If my server has forced cockpit view it doesn't effect your fun.

I think that's his point. However, on the bright side, I'm sure it would effect someone's fun. But hey, it wouldn't affect the fun racing in chase view effects if he stays out of your server.

Remember the FXO back in S1?

That sucker sounded pretty sweet when you got it a couple thousand revs above the redline.

On a similar note... I think the XRR sounds like it's downright bogging down when it's time to change gears.

What parts are similar other than being in Japan and going under (albeit not over) a bridge?

I actually think the littlest engine sounds the most realistic--meatiest too. Go MRT.

IMO this style of generating engine sounds best suits small cylinders.

Quote from Gentlefoot :I think the FXO sounds cool. Although it doesn't sound like an inline 4 to me at all.

It shouldn't--it's flat. To me it sounds like it's got the AC compressor on full blast... that background coggy whine.

Quote from wikipedia :Since the late 1960s Champ Cars have used turbocharged engines. Turbos were banned in Formula One on safety grounds in 1989. For some periods of their history, notably in the early 1970s and late 1990s, turbocharging gave Champ Cars up to 300 horsepower (220 kW) more than F1 cars, in the 70s cars had in excess of 1000 hp. Recently in 1999/2000 the Champ Cars approached 1000 horsepower (750 kW) before regulations on turbo boost were tightened. The current generation of cars are now about equal in power to F1 cars at approximately 750 horsepower (since F1 imposed stricter engine specifications from 2006), with the turbo used mainly to improve the spectacle rather than lap-times with the so-called 'push-to-pass' system giving drivers an increased amount of power for a limited duration during the race. Another reason for retaining the turbocharger is with many city street races on the calendar, the muffling effect it has on the exhaust note helps keep the cars inside noise-limits.

Heh... I attended the 2005 GP of Long Beach. From inside the back straight parking garage I likened the sound level to FA-18 hornets flying low overhead on full afterburner--i.e. temporary deafness ensued. How much louder do you reckon an F1 car is? anyone here who's heard both?
