Quote from 96 GTS :What is this centrifugal force you speak of, I've never heard of it, in fact, I don't belive it exists

I meant tires which expand centrifugally. Sorry for the confusion.

That'll be the day when LFS can do this:

F1 drivers or F1 rejects?

Yeah I bet people would take it around the oval anyway...

More public demand for an oval car it would seem... and I think a top fuel dragster would be very difficult to implement (flames, tires that expand with centrifugal force) not to mention as it is the computer launches for you (no false starts) and no burnouts and...... a parachute? forget it.

edit: it would of course be cool if it worked right...

Thanks for that CART vid, Jeff.

It's been suggested that you should be able to click on the cars in the mini-map as well.

Could you elaborate the difference between "no" and "they are okay?" :magnify:

Quote from Bob Smith :The LXs in LFS are far too aerodynamic. Hopefully something that will be changed in a future patch (all road cars are equally aerodynamic - obviously flawed).

You'd think that would be easy to fix if the cars were each given permanent wing settings with 0 downforce... finding out how much drag to give each car is another story.

Don't forget the part that could make a longer front straight on FE gold and black... with a jump

Wait a second--what difference does it make what we think the devs should do with their money?

Quote from kallelix :This cars are heavy, but impressive . The performance win is not that big. The LXs are, like Caterhams, very lightweight. I like the good balance between weight and power.

Quote from kallelix :This is not true. Take a look here: http://www.caterham.co.uk/showroom/index.htm

Well, okay. Half of those engines are still bigger, and I think LFS tracks and physics can definitely handle them.

...I guess I'd just like more LX cars?

Is it just me, or do the LX cars have sub-typical engines?

Most Caterhams I see have about a 2.0l I4 with anywhere between 210 and 250 horsepower.

We've got two cars of this style and, well... IMO the class is still underrepresented.

In S1, the 6 was almost too much to handle, but now it just feels too flat-out everywhere.

I'm interested in what the JeffRs of this community have to say, as maybe I'm just cuckoo.

Also it's just a 2.0t I4...

+1 surely on Scawen's to-do list. Some pit exits (and entries for reversed configs) would need to be changed for sure, though.

Quote from wheel4hummer :Well, maybe if you shifter is set up as being a sequencial shifter, and you are driving a H-gate car, then the 2-3 and 4-5 shifts should take longer than the 1-2, 3-4, and 5-6 shifts. After all, it takes longer to go up, over, and up, then it does to go down!

Nah. I'm just as fast from any gear--it's still one motion (you just push straight up to get from 2nd to 3rd. It's actually easier than shifting between 1st and 2nd, or 5th and 6th because you're not pulling/pushing sideways at all, but that's regardless of speed), and if I shift any faster I'll probably damage/wear something out. Haven't driven a car without synchros.

I have a viddy of Uwe Alzen taking a 996 turbo around the Nordschleife and it sounds like a sequential the way he's shifting (from any gear the same).

It is a stick, so... +1 for anything Vain has said.

Quote from Racer Y :Uh, I've been known to race in a towel once or twice... And then unexpected company comes over.... I go into chase view then.... but in a completely different way

Now I know what the most popular vote is talking about!

Wouldn't work in the short run.

Yes, I could have said sequential, but that would have left out direktschaltgetriebe. That's pretty much what I was thinking of... not that you would find it on a Ferrari/Porsche hybrid in that layout, but hey...
