haha rich, poor envious old man On the other hand, you got some points there, still physics and carfeel wise, LFS is bestest No hovering over ovals or on ISI tracks :P Just show me ONE non-LFS-movie that comes close to DoNs slowmo shot and I shut up. :P
+1 from me for that. Cause it doesnt nearly cover the real important tasks. Like racecraft, stable throughout a season, team-player etc. Those are skills I respect by far more than hotlap WRs. Why? Cause everytime a decent league comes to a car-track combo no one except the usual hotlappers drove before, the WR is crumbled to dust and beaten by a second or more. The real racer, doesnt care about WRs, that's all
The first race has been done, and it was a great great one. I encourage everyone to check the results HERE and also get the replays. Especially the last laps have some great overtaking and fighting in it. MotoGP anyone?
Oh, and check the times driven
Congrats to ChrisKart who had an amazing setup and was the right winner for this first event.
due to some server probs, XRR server is closed atm (ESCC #1) and will be up again later today. We are planning to prolongate the qualifying possibility due to that problems.
Yes, just to remind you of some times at the qualification tracker e.g. BawBag is leading atm with two times which are faster than the WR on both track/car combos But I'd say, everyone there in the top10 or even top20 is able to nail a WR with some practice. I guess we gonna push the WRs on the driven track/car combos a bit then
Signup is still open, and just do your laps after you signed in, there wont be an answer email from us ESL-staff, until qualification closes tomorrow evening @ 22 cest (gmt+2).
In that case, and that was said years ago already, there would be a license removal patch for last version.
Again: LFS dev-speed isnt related to money.
About prizing. The dollar is worth less than a EUro or even less than a pound. So you have to come up with that. If you think that's too much, you might wnt to ask your goverment to subventionize LFS, should rise your state debts a lot, isnt it? :P

well keithano, the biggest difference is the join date in ur profile, to those who answered positively to your question. Up to 4 years (O M F G) could make a little difference
a lot of buddies and some real friends. Some invited me to their marriage (where another LFS guy from far away was best-man ), some to their birthdays and with a lot of them I partied hard :P LFS definitely widened my circle of friends and added a lot of buddies. It's just different to your oldschool friends, cause with them you cant spend night after night drinking and talking petrol :P
Yes, DaHoe got it right. So again some infos on the qualifying:
How to qualify for this league:
Two fast laps - one on each combination - are summed up to give your qualifying time. The best 40 will then be invited for the league. You have to sign up for it anyway. Link is at the bottom of the news.
If you are in, in between the races: For every race, you will have to do one fast lap (out of 20 again) on our servers to qualify for the Grid (LFS endu kind of style, remember? ). The drivers then will be put into the Grids by this.
Why we start that early already: We plan to broadcast several of the Races LIVE, and the schedule needed it that way.
well, I might quote (again) BMW F1 Testdriver Timo Glock: "Wow, that really gets close to the real thing, I wanna play with the setups" after playing LFS. And honestly, if no one comes up with something at least comparable by one of the 4 guys that drive a BMW F1 irl about the rf-sauber, this is the ultimate judgement atm.
Well csur, they are for sure still behind the curtains, and if they decide to become active again, I'm the last to stop them But except JeeP and OPK, who just take a small pause and race a little bit on publics, the rest didnt touch LFS for more than a year by now. Maccie is studying in denmark, Pallu is lost to MMORPGs since 2 years, Bikesy havent touched LFS for more than a year too and Lim is really busy in putting up his own gfx-design business. So, to ask honestly: Would you, when making such a move, put them on the active teams list?
