First of all: Great race, I had a lot of fun chasing the pod-guys (huhu bjoern ) and I like the thing, that there are GT2 cars on the track. Great action there.
Only one thing: If you get blue flag, and get lapped (hello, car #7), wouldnt it be easier to lift a sec or move over, than actually racing on racing line, closing door and bumping into my left rear wheel, when I finally pass? It doesnt matter, if you are actually also fight for position, it's a matter of racerules, that you should let car behind pass, when you get blue flag.
eh guys, race will end, when schumi will start. no prob at all F1 is @ 19 cest (17 gmt). therefor right at the end of our race. Maybe we can start 5 mins earlier?
[_] you have understood that LFS is WiP, and that the physics system will be more and more complete with every new patch.
Why are the starts arcadey? Cause it was easier to code and you have something to play.
Why is there no brake fade? Cause it isnt implemented yet, but will be.
And so on and so on. If you take the stuff, which is already implemented fully, then it is the most realistic you can get in sims nowadays.
that is the way LFS works and will work for quite a long time. It's not a game like GTR or similar, which has to be kind of complete but without "real" physics below, to make it sellable. Be happy to have what you have right now in LFS and be happy that you know, that LFS will get all the other stuff done right, that you want.
I - for myself - dont get the difficulty in understanding this...
sure they get complaints. You wonder? And if they get complaints about too much deletion, then they should think about that. There was seriously no reason to delete anything in here. People got ok with it, replied to posts they wanted etc. Now you have the mess, cause here are people that complain. So who made the mistake here?
IMHO there are only a few things, a mod should delete: Links to pron, offensive material as racist shit, spam from forum spammers and advertisement stuff. Nothing of that was in this thread here...
sometimes I wonder if mods just feel the need to do anything. The moment a mod comes to the spotlight, other people complaining about their moved/edited/deleted threads, he did something wrong imho.
BTT: It's not a LFS related BUG, it's an Online Racing Game bug, where collisions take part. There is actually NO way to totally prevend that, except allowing the cars to dive into each other a bit. Every Racing Sim has that, that in a short LAG and both cars heading towards same position, they might appear to be inside the other car then. And a proper physics calculation of collisions will then reverb the force, which would be realistically needed to "dive" that much into the other car onto both cars in the reversed direction. With some physics understanding, you'll see, that the momentum put on the cars then is quite big. That'll leap them anywhere. This happened to me in every other sim too once or twice. It's just a matter of LAG.
Wasn't it him, who took first turn a "bit" wide? And who was overtaken by MS in great manner? Sure, he was fast in the beginning, but as said by his chief technician, it was him, who saw his worn down front left tire and wanted new ones.
Oh, and did I say, MS is my hero? never did say that. The difference between you and me keiran is easy: You're an Alonso fanboy, I am not a MS fanboy.
How much more shall I write, to show that I was kidding? Your reaction shows lack of humour and is the actual annoying part... come on, j/k means JUST KIDDING!
As I said, and this contributes to the discussion again: I'd like to see a real version, that you start from pits, with the tires at the temps as it is now. If this is not in the way, the devs like it, then give the tires more temp (not selectable by players, just more, to keep it even), and start from last split. If you'd start from pits with the normal temp, your tires would be at that about 10°-15° more higher temp at last split anyway.
Still, I'd vote for startpoint at pits, with tires preheated as they are now, when you exit pits.
as long as starting position is "unreal", I'd go for preheated tires, cause somehow the car should have gotten to that point of the track anyway. The moment you put starting position to pits, then you stay with the current temps for sure.
The second conclusion, the real one, would suit my understanding of sim more. On the other hand there is this minority of maybe 5 people, who just hotlap. So why not consider some precious worktime to solve their prob.... j/k
Oh, still wondering here, why no one starts moaning about Renault team-order in china. Maybe cause there was no such sentence as "Giancarlo, let fernando pass for the championship, let fernando pass for the championship" :P Or maybe just the fact, that it's not Ferrari... :P
keiran, have you seen alonso drive live once? And if you dont like to see the fact, that in extreme circumstances (really hot, strange wet-to-dry weather or any different weather) he messes it up. Always with his style of driving, then go on. From the ppov of ergonomic and smooth driving, he simply sux big time.
china, first stint. It was his impression, that he killed the tires, and needed new. And I honestly think (from the looks) that he actually really killed them
Oh.. Hockenheim this year. remember? it was too hot for the michelins, and bang: alonso was the michelin with the biggest probs. fisicho, kimi, button been faster.
Besides that, I simply DONT like the fact, that this style is fast. Cause it isnt imho as skillful as Kimi, fisicho, button, michael handle their cars, and go smooth around the corners. I also do hope that this will show up even more in next year, with same tires everywhere, a new car for him and prolly his teammate (if it will be hamilton), and that will end in some probs for him (beside the biggest prob of merc reliability).
when seeing button or especially Kimi LIVE, being able to watch every lap how he turns in and moves the car, made me really really apreciate his skills. This great skill should be honoured asap with a championship imho.
