Both of my comps have an official windows license so I'm up to date with security patches and the Win firewall with a D-Link router (with a firewall and NAT enganged) has kept me 100% safe so far. Downloading only from trusted sources and having zero pirated software means I don't have to worry about outgoing connections calling home to big corporation lawsuit sections. If you worry about your OS X/Windows sending some information home, you should be scared shitless how much your government agencies collect much more personal data about you.

Can't remember ever having a virus or other malicious software so I don't even bother with active anti-virus or such. Once-a-month cache and temp crap cleaning is enough.

As far as I heard, the audio clip just contains the aftermath so my sympathy goes for Bale. We do not know where the DP had been wrecking scenes earlier or whether they had 15 hours of shooting behind them and everyone was tired.

What I do know is that it's film making basics that you keep the actor happy at all costs even if that means bending over backwards or he's/she's a whiny bitch. If the DP messed up more than once, the director or the rest of the crew should have reacted and sent him away for a while before the thing escalated into that.

Don't worry guys, I got plenty of other alter-egos to go around and cause mayhem here.

If you have some money, Final Cut (Mac), Vegas and Premier are all good options. Try demos and see which workflow feels best for you.

If you haven't got any money, Imovie and Windows Movie Maker are free.

I do pay my bills with graphic design so I guess that makes me a professional but art is very far from my regular line of work.

Aaand in other news: My lens collection is now finished.

In addition to the Nikkor pro-series 4th gen AF 80-200 D f/2.8 ED (from circa '97), I found another Nikkor pro AF lens, the 20-35 f/2.8, for an ok price. It's only around 15-years-old sooo... it's practically brand new! Works flawlessly on my D700 and build quality and optics are both fine indeed.

Now the uphill steepens once again as I gotta deliver better images, stoopid stoopid stoopid.

After years of waiting, you happily reinstall LFS when a patch comes along and brings new cockpits, finished tracks, better damage modeling, tyre physics and aero modelling and go online grinning like an idiot.
