Quote from PMD9409 :That would be "Publix". They have their own bakery that I would normally go to.

i dont think you quite got the idea of going somewhere that isnt a huge chain
or the (seemingly unheard of in the us) idea that there can be stores that arent part of a franchise

the food situation in the us seems kinda ****ed up
do you really not have any local bakeries that sell freshly baked sandwiches?

judging by those pics he drove way too fast when he tried to turn off the highway
i find it rather hard to find sympathy for someone who killed himself through his own stupidity... rather darwinian really

i havent but the g25 shifter for me it was a lot like "theres gotta be a gear somewhere" with reverse being the worst offender

presumably because the gates help make it feel less like a plasticy mess when youre actually using it instead of just looking at it

every single laptop ive had in my grubby fingers lately has used touchpads made by elan

Quote from DevilDare :Uhm...

You should be able to hear a single short beep when the PC turns on, which just means everything is fine. Even if the monitor is not connected.

i was talking error beeps obviously

Quote from bunder9999 :lots. they're not the old fashioned speaker speakers though, they're the piezoelectric kind now.

none of mine do
in fact i think neither of my cases even came with one

Quote from -NightFly- :I bought my gf an acer laptop with it last year, i still find mouse many times more comfortable

presumably an elan one which suffer from either shitty hardware or shitty drivers or more likely both
either way the current standard elan trackpads you find on most laptops these days are pretty useless

theres a lot of bad that can be correctly said about macbooks (too hot shitty battery life on windows etc) but their trackpads are quite brilliant (at least under macos ive never used one in windows)

i know it probably means brake but when i first saw "remmen" i read it as "rammen" which would be awesome if they gave you that option

no it should not beep and halt with no monitor connected otherwise youd have trouble using desktop motherboards as home servers which works perfectly fine

for vga probably not
also how many pcs even have a pc speaker these days?
Shotglass
S2 licensed
when in doubt first always connect it via vga as its the least error prone
(couldnt get hdmi to work on my new machine with the monitor i have at werk when i built it there)

its not like the world needed any more proof that you cannot buy good taste

im pretty sure you got it the wrong way round and the idea is that theyll tighten during braking where torques are much higher

Quote from spankmeyer :The footage was apparently scanned at a freaky 8K resolution.

meaning **** all since film resolution is massively dependant on the lense (applies to digital too obviously) lighting film speed and tons of other things

Quote :However I still hope cinemas are hurrying with updating to 4K projectors with Jackson's Hobbit and Cameron's blue monkeys in the pipeline.

on anything smaller than an imax screen or to someone sitting in the first few rows 4k will make no difference whatsoever

Quote from JJ72 :What resolution are IMAX movies? The last time I watched dark knight in IMAX it blown me away.

the imax in my town (which afaik still is europes largest and part of easily one of the most modern conemas in europe) is 2k and 70mm respectively

dark knight according to imdb was filmed via analogue so the effective resolution of the movie is ... whatever (in actuality probably fairly low due to the darkness of the movie)

Quote from dawesdust_12 :Windows theoretically could do what OSX and Linux could do (PAE as Bean0 has explained).. but Microsoft seems to run into instability with PAE (while Linux and Apple devs can make it work just fine!)

who cares? windows has been available as a fully functional 64 bit version since 2005 (ie about 2 years after the first 64 bit x86 processors came out to make such a thing at all necessary) and has been compatible with pretty much anything but the most obscure of hardware since at least 2007

pae is a stopgap solution that has (had) very little (if any) relevance outside the server market

the point was more about a good 1080 camera being able to record a whole lot of detail
of course on a cheap point and shoot the lens probably wont even be able to give you 1080

Quote from ColeusRattus :You can also say goodbye to your driving license if you bike drunk.

round here you can even lose your licence for walking home drunk

actually youll find most cinemas are 2k these days and most of the better looking movies (eg tron or avatar) are produced with either 2k or 1080 cameras

your screens are simply too small
http://www.gadgetell.com/images/2007/03/resolution_chart.png
on anything less than a projector setup with a fairly massive screen theres hardly any point in anything more than 720
