Quote from Jakg :"99%"? Seriously? You think anyone would ever use a Mac if they spent 99% of their time out of OSX, or constantly rebooting to use their apps?

which is why most of my colleagues with macs always have a windows vm open to do actual work in

Quote from JPeace :In fact, most people I know who try to raise money for such charities as cancer research are not people who have cancer themselves, but people who have lost loved ones to the disease - I can't believe you wrote that here, its incredibly selfish look on this. Have some heart.

i personally find it somewhat selfish or at least massively short sighted to care for a cause only after it has directly affected your life

Quote from Ball Bearing Turbo :which has a semi-manual mode whereby you bump the shifter forward or backward for shifts.

ill bet any amount of money that its the wrong way round

Quote :Will an engine burn more fuel at lower RPM but much wider throttle, for say 6 seconds, or at higher RPM but less throttle for 33% less time.

I know that's not a precise question, and that there's a lot of variables involved that need to be considered, but I hope it conveys the gist of what I'm getting at.

as youve already worked out yourself thats pretty much an inanswerable question since there are way too many variables especially since lower rpm and higher rpm are essentially meaningless without any further qualification

however when thinking about fuel efficiency during acceleration youre essentially looking for consumption/Nm
generally and this applies to all engines the point at which an engine is most efficient is at its torque peak (which afaik doesnt move all that much over different throttle openings)
which is obvious once you think about it in terms of why the engine generates the highest torque at that point (an engine is basically a highly inefficient device that converts pressure (essentially undirected force) into linear motion (directional force) and then into rotation (rotational force ie torque))
so to conclude the most fuel efficient way to get to a certain speed (disregarding the distance traveled) is to stay near the torque peak... and to not ever under any circumstances buy an automatic

Quote from DeadWolfBones :Seems accurate to me, too.

Love this game.

im currently in the spheres and getting pretty annoyed by the "guess where we put a portalable slab of wall" game between chambers

and them attempting to make every single line anyone says funny is rather tiring as well

true although sims have come a long way
also im not quite sure what the obsession that guy has with motion platforms is about... particularly when it comes to flight sims since generally the main thing to learn about the movement you feel during flight (or in most situations the movement you think you feel) is to ignore all of it especially in imc

Quote from MadCatX :As far as I know you can practice only certain things like IFR navigation or approach on a certified sim and have it logged. It's definitely not like you can do the entire PPL on X-Plane.

ifr isnt even part of a ppl education... and neither is simulator training for that matter
from the top of my head you need x hours of sim training for an atpl or a type rating none of which count at all towards the 1500 hours of flight you need to obtain the full none frozen atpl no matter hwo advanced the sim is

Quote from justasimfan :And flying simulators like x-plane and flying simulator x can provide you with a good number of your needed flying hours to get a license.

thats bs and you obviously dont know anything about how aquiring a pilots licence works
for what its worth my best friend has an atpl so unlike you i do know what im talking about

same can be said about eg palestinians celebrating the death of people from the country that provided the money and weapons to kill their families

uhm why exactly do you need it translated? id be very surprised if the "Performance Motorsport Sales Manager" at a company as large as puma has any problems understanding english
and on top of that it appears hes actually in france

you might want to work on that overly long sentence though

hm kinda torn now between this and the 2500t for a low power system
its fast enough at aes to support day to day stuff without raising cpu load too much i guess but the 2500t should do its stuff without ever waking up from sleep much

if you can still find a ul30vt or a used one you might have something that fits the bill quite nicely

other than that the only laptops id personally consider buying right now are the lenovo x220 and the new hp business line
all down to how much im fed up with the screen on my ul30vt... and basically any other laptop

Quote from Jakg :Cant charge in lectures, not always convienient and it's a ballache to remember to throw it in my bag each day & unplug it from the desk & do it all again when I get in. Plus I can just pick it up & go when i'm not taking anything else (I often take my laptop to my GF's house as she goes to bed really early for example)

wouldnt it be easier to buy a second power brick thats always in your notebook bag then?
