i still dont understand what advantage the new forum has over the old one. this forum feels like its a work in progress and feels like several things missing. old one was definitely better.
main site is better than the old, but;
-change the look of news headlines and racing activity
-no need to write the server names with their colors in racing activity section, they can be blue just like user ids. will give more clean feel.
-please remove this photo https://www.lfs.net/static/pics/fp_cars.png
-move the news headlines little bit to the bottom and put free game download and buy additional content buttons over the top, a bit wider.

handbrake is working realisticly i think.
its just on formula cars we have handbrakes. i dont think 2007 Bmw sauber had handbrake.

when you are braking the weight goes from the back of the car to the front of the car. so front tyres will get grippier because they have load on themselves. and rear will get unstable because all the weight is in front. when you try to turn in while all the weight and grip is at the front of the car rear will become unstable. I am talking about the force that makes your body go forward in the car when you use brakes.
thats why you should release braking quite a bit while going into the corner. otherwise you will put too much force on the front tyres (braking+turning)
the best way to go through a corner fast is to hit the apex (mostly) that will give you the widest angle, allowing you to carry more speed through a corner.

by the way, what happened to the registration dates? the new site still looks ugly to me. somehow i feel scawen hasnt had any input on the new site. because when he does something new, he does it so that you dont want the old one. here, i want the old lfsforum. main site is okay, but needs much improvement. including the removal of that picture exhibits the vw. not because it does exhibit the vw, but because its just bad, and makes people think its an atari game. while its not and graphics are much better (and getting better)

please do not produce shitload of bugs out of nowhere just because you dont know how to patch or do it wrongly and then mess with scawen's mind when there is actually nothing wrong. its annoying.

Lmao @ those annoying people who still want the old version. It should be removed cause the track we will get is the improved version. They improve it cause they didnt like the old one and find good enough for lfs. This is same as wanting the old tyre physics along with the new one for a bit of "nostalgia". Just play the older version if you so wish it ffs.

no, just the unnecessary things which deteriorate lfs. LFS is a serious sim, and things like forces view and especially cross eyed view has no place in it. its like a joke.
scawen, you should remove the cross eyed view. It will only serve as a material to make fun of lfs. and wont be used by noone (yes double negative)

i hope LFS never goes open source. i have seen the games which are open source and people turned them into clowns.

when you lock your wheel, say 90° you know it. you dont have to watch the wheel that is in front of you, or the ingame wheel to know where it is/the car is at. simple example would be nobody in traffic watches the wheel while driving.
its only bs to claim that you can know where the steering angle is at with mouse -without needing a virtual wheel just because you dont need it when using a wheel.
with mouse you have to watch the virtual wheel as there is no indication of how much lock you are putting. and watching what the car is doing will be too late.
thats what i meant. thats why every mouse driver has wheel and driver arms on. you cant really drive with mouse without them. so some of the capacity that you could use to go faster is wasted on watching the virtual wheel.
so you are saying that the force feedback you get from the wheel has no help?
and also with mouse you have to keep an eye on the virtual wheel in the screen to know where you are going. with a wheel you can easily focus on the road.
fastest way around a track is definitely a good set up wheel set.
you guys talk like you know nothing about button control rate. it does not help you with not locking the tyres or accelerating smoothly. in accelerating, it feels like turbo lag because after the initial press on the button, it just gives you the full power. if it worked like you thought, you could be going at a certain speed while holding the throttle button down. but you cant.
lets say you have to use 60% brake at some point, button control rate wont really be of any help. it works for the first second you press the button. it'll just hit 100% moments after the initial press. so you will lock the wheels and your only chance is releasing the button and pressing it again which will cost you time.

maybe that iracing guy was actually oversteering the car with left foot braking?
i agree that rfactor is hard to use and having to download mods and cars and that poor interface makes people sick and those things keep many people off their sim. they dont know yet. i would go and "troll" at their forum too about this, but i care about lfs bit more
also another reason is they made absolutely no improvement on both those sides with rf2. i guess they are ok with it that way. in a racing game, u shouldnt scare customers with hundreds of options and downloads. you should offer the goddamn racing. right away!i didnt insult him, or at least i didnt mean to. scawen is a guy who is lazy but very talented that sits at right top side of the class
unfortunately he used that talent for a short period of time
