And for the record: It's one chart for both servers, so you still got your points when you come to sumo 2.

Yay! I'll do it, as soon as the breeding season is over here in Africa.

Quote from Dygear :If this is true, then I have to wonder what Scawen was smoking when he thought this would be a good idea. How does this system make it easy for people to program for? Once you get assigned an id, you should keep that id through out the connection.

Number 3 guy leaves.
Guy in 8th stays where hell he is!!!
New guy connects, becomes number 3.

According to the topic title they're discussing the order of the connection list (n), not the connection id's..

Quote from Heiko1 :Hey guys.

I need just a little help with my buttons and Commands..

My first problem is:
How did i make a Close button... i have the code and it works all fine,
but how did i make that, thats it closes these button's only when i click the Close button?

Also the Problem is:
When i add the code thats its close the button its closes the button wich i want do delete. BUT without a click on my Close button!!

When the user clicks your "Close"-button, you will get a IS_BTC with the "close"-buttons cid in it.

So just look for a IS_BTC with cid=your close buttons cid, When you get this packet, just send a IS_BFN for every button you want to be deleted (you obviously have to know the cid of these buttons).

Quote from Heiko1 : And my Second problem is:
How did i make commands there are only can use "Special" people likes Admins and Officers? Example: !kick Heiko1
And thats only the "Special" people can use these commands.

Just make sure you check the Admin flag in the IS_NCN, and keep track of who is logged in as admin. Then, only execute admin commands from connections that are admins.

Hmyes, that's what I assumed, and that's why I ordered a vps from them even before I read your replies

Thanks for the tip, mcgas.

Quote from mcgas001 :I use mine for MySql database, about 4 lfs servers and a few programs, they are very good money for what you get

According to their terms and conditions at http://www.cheapvps.co.uk/legal/terms you're not allowed to run "Game servers such as CounterStrike, Half Life 2 and similar [...] due to the amount of CPU resources they take".
Have you asked them if dedicated LFS servers are ok with them?

Edit: Asking out of curiosity since i'm concidering renting a vps from them

Computer auto restart after shutdown

Hi all,

just got a new laptop, and I'm having a tiny problem with it.

It's a laptop (Cinet PM965 if you know that one) with an external monitor (Acer 22" AL2216WSD, DVI connection) running Vista Ultimate.

The problem is, when I'm shuting down the computer, it's shutting down, but restarts again after a couple of seconds.
But if I disconnect the DVI cable (to the external monitor) the problem is gone, when I shut it off it stays off.
Or, if I shutdown, and then quickly shuts off the external monitor, the laptop will stay off. But if I turn on the monitor again, the laptop is also turned on.

Checked the BIOS, but no setting for this there. Also tried to ask my friend mr. Google, but he couldn't help me with this.

Anyone?

Quote from BBO@BSR :For us it worked like this:
Driver had to go online, entered a server, then the info was back to normal.

Only problem is we have a couple of members on.. uhm.. vacation.

Quote from Victor :currently running a cleanup script to write correct values back again. So if you refresh your values tonight, they should be ok again.

Yup, seems better now. Last activity time is reverted, but last hostname and last car seems to be blank, last track is 000.
But still way better than it used to be, thanks!

last_activity_time(*) (Unix timestamp (UTC))

current / last car(*)

Just a quick question to you, Victor... would it be possible for you to revert the last activity information to before the "Phlos is my god" incident?

Quote from dougie-lampkin :Hi guys, just wondering how i can log in as an admin into my own dedicated server?? i tried the command /admin=pass (with pass being my admin's password), but im told "You do not have admin rights". What is the command to be registered as admin??

You have to set the admin pass in the server config file (/admin=pass), then use that password when connecting.

You guys have any idea how much work this is? If you did, I doubt you would be asking... it's not like this is just a "favour", we're talking weeks, if not months, of hard work..

Quote from TurboRacer35 :Its not like its that hard to tell someone nicely "no".

"no".

Quote from Hollywood :ISS_FRONT_END is the main screen of the game, not the multiplayer lobby screen. It'd be nice if the status had a bool on it that let you know you were in the lobby screen.

Aha. Tested some more, and you're absolutely right.. sorry I missed that one. I've totally misunderstood the meaning of "entry screen", I always thought "entry screen" was what you called "lobby screen"..

A lobby-screen flag for local apps would be nice too, indeed.
Alhough the ISS_GAME flag works for server apps.

Quote from Hollywood :If you are spectated you do not have a player, so that makes sense. However, once you join (whether or not you are in the lobby or not) you have a player id. Therefore not getting the IS_NLP is a bug especially since when you do leave the pits/garage you get the IS_NPL packet (with of course the same player id).

But you DO get a NPL in lobby screen! When you click the "join race" button, a NPL is sent...

Quote from Hollywood :ISS_FRONT_END is the main screen of the game, not the multiplayer lobby screen. It'd be nice if the status had a bool on it that let you know you were in the lobby screen.

Hm? If you are in the main screen you have left the server, and there is no way your app can detect that (since youre not connected to the server running the app anymore).. unless you are talking about a app running on your local computer (ISF_LOCAL), but I don't get that bit set then either.. actually, I have never been able to get that bit set, neither in local mode nor server mode... And I'm pretty sure that bit is supposed to mean youre in what you call "lobby screen", because if you read insim.h it sais
"#define ISS_FRONT_END 256 // entry screen"
and "entry screen" is what you call "lobby screen" (at least I think so).

Quote from Hollywood :And no, that doesn't work. Because the lobby screen is really when I want the scripts running so that when a player joins they get car and handicapped checked. That way when everyone is ready and the race starts, we know that everyone is in the right car with the right handicaps.

Well, if a player joins the race in "lobby/entry screen" you get a NPL.. so you can check that then. I don't see the problem, sorry
