You couldn't pay me to drive (as my own car) a Pontiac, or any GM product. I've driven many different GM vehicles from 1984 through 2005 model years and their garbage lack of feel steering and braking system has not changed at all. I can't see it being any different for their "performance" lineup.

I've driven several different model years of Cavalier, Beretta, Sunfire, Corsica, Grand Prix, Grand Prix GTP (or whatever that was), Fiero, Supercharged Bonneville, several small trucks, full size truck, Blazer, every single one of them was a piece of garbage and the whole collection would be at the very bottom of the list of cars that I have personally driven in the category of driveability and quality.

8 years old? Can't really think that far back. I can go to 12 though. When I was 12, well of course it would be another 12 year old. She is 8 months younger than I am.

I think we can agree that she has not disappointed as she grew up either....

Quote from Bob Smith :....but I would be genuinely interested to see any literature stating that nicotine is the most addictive drug. Perhaps it depends on your definition of "you can get", as I'd agree it's more addiciting than alcohol.

For you Bob. They are just a few from the first page of links in Google....

Based on the level of dependence, the most common measure for determining the addictiveness of a drug, the substances ranked as follows, from most to least addictive:
  1. Nicotine
  2. Heroin
  3. Cocaine
  4. Alcohol
  5. Caffeine
  6. Marijuana
http://www.michaelshouse.com/drug-addiction/most-addictive-drugs-world.html

The most addictive drugs

#1 Nicotine. Although studies vary, it is generally believed that over 30% of those individuals who use nicotine for a period of time become addicted. That is a high number considering the availability of the product, the manner in which it is marketed towards young people, and the deadly consequences of a lifetime of use.
#2 Caffeine. Perhaps another shocker for some, Caffeine ranks high on the list, with almost 30% of casual users becoming addicted. This stimulant is found is so many things we consume every day that you have to look hard to find a product without it.
#3 Heroin. Now, an illegal drug makes its first appearance on the list. Although one-hundred years ago Heroin was used for a variety of medicinal purposes, the medical community soon realized that people were becoming addicted in record numbers. The drug was taken off of the market, but illicit use remains rampant to this day – destroying lives of those from all walks of life, all over the world. 25% of those who use Heroin for a period of time become addicted to the drug.
#4 Cocaine. Another drug that costs families, and our society as a whole, cocaine is a heavily habit forming drug. While it does enter the list as slightly less addictive that Nicotine and Caffeine, the effects of Cocaine's (and heroin's) use are far more serious. Drug rehab programs list cocaine as one of the top addictions they face daily.
#5 Alcohol. The legalized drug with potentially devastating consequences, alcohol reduces the ability of your brain to function properly. Addictive for 15% of those who use it regularly, alcohol is especially problematic for young people, where binge drinking and dangerous alcohol-related activities are prevalent.

Tommy defended me rather than ripping on me! I'm flattered! Shocked more like it! Hehehe

No one is defending smoking, sheesh. Well, OK there are a few that has defended their opinion on their act of smoking. Not the same thing. Most are discussing smoking and how difficult it is to quit while you lot that have no idea what you are talking about are flaming those people.

People who don't smoke, could you just shut up already. You have no idea what you are talking about when you start to criticize and ridicule people who smoke.

Nicotine is a physical addiction. A PHYSICAL addiction!! The brain secretes a morphine chemical to balance nervousness and the addiction is when the brain quits secreting this chemical and the nicotine is substituted.

When one quits tobacco (not just smoking, include all tobacco products) the brain has to learn to produce and secrete this chemical all over again. This is why people say, "I feel like I could kill someone if I don't have a smoke."

Trying to quit using tobacco products is comparable to a smoker telling you that you should just quit breathing. You can not just quit breathing. Try it now. Hold your breath as long as you can. I bet you can't even hold your breath long enough to pass out. You will breath far before you get to that point.

Telling someone to "just quit" smoking is like telling someone with allergies, "just quit sneezing already".

Yes, you can overcome the addiction to nicotine. Millions of people have done it. It is VERY difficult. Nicotine is the most addictive drug you can get. If you don't smoke or have never smoked (I don't count kids trying it for just once or twice) then you just need to shut your trap in this thread unless you are only stating you don't smoke per the OP question. You have no idea what it is like and what effects it has.

My heart goes out to all who attempt to rid themselves of the nicotine poison. My congratulations goes out for all who has conquered the addiction.

Disclaimer: This post was written by someone addicted to nicotine by other sources. The author of this post does not smoke. The author of this post also understands the ramifications of his nicotine addiction and does not need a holier than thou opinion by the ignorant. Thank you very much, there's the door.

Haven't we already had this argument on this forum? Perhaps it was another forum, the ignorant comments of the non-smokers all end up the same.

Quote from UncleBenny :SHIFT + mousewheel can be used for "Back" and "Forward" in Firefox, possibly other browsers.

I open threads in new tabs when I read forums. You can either click with the scroll wheel or ctrl-left click to do so. My scrollwheel button was messed up, so I would be scrolling and ctrl-clicking threads open and I would work to fast and the dang text would get huge because I would accidentally scroll while the ctrl key was still pushed. It was quite annoying.

Ok, I've been sorting (and deleting) photos all night. It seems that during my time with the computer out of commission my kids had gotten a hold of my camera at various times and I have hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of shots of the dog, the bird, the fish, and just about every stuffed animal you can think of, LOL.

During my sorting tonight, I found this from Superbowl Sunday (NFL for those not in the know). Nothing like your trusty loyal yellow Lab rooting for the home team for ya! That would be the "Official Myron Cope Pittsburgh Steelers Terrible Towel" in case you didn't know. Please ignore my sock which she loves to gather up from the laundry, LOL.

How exactly do you show only S2 servers? Is that new in the test patches? You can't filter for S2 only with Patch Z.

Quote from mookie427 :its not that funny but you can't help laughing

**Today, I handed my PhD dissertation, which I have spent the past year researching and writing full-time. Last night, my roommate set an autocorrect on Word that changed "neither" to "n****r." I didn't notice until after I handed it in. My professor is black. FML**

LOL

The girl in the office next to me started laughing hysterically one day. I had forgotten about it after a few months, but I caught the guy in the office on the other side messing with her computer one day. He set the autocorrect in her email to correct her name to Butthead every time she typed it. It took her 4 or 5 months before actually using her name rather than just her initials in an email.

Yes, very nice DWB. The B&W conversions are superb. Wish they were numbered .

I really like the 4th shot. The exposure is very nice showing off the texture of the snow. #5 is interesting also as I'm trying to figure out what the heck it is.

You shooting in manual mode? I can't check exif info on my work computer here.

Soon, DWB, soon. Wifey has an interview tomorrow. Will finally be able to catch up, but it will take some time. I'll be hunting around for deals on a D300 by then

And I finally have my computer back, so hopefully I can continue on with sorting some shots. I have a ton of kid shots that has been residing silently on the work laptop awaiting me fixing my main PC, but I should have something within those family shots, hopefully.

I think I mentioned a program for logging vehicle mileage and maintenance records a while back. If not, I was going to mention it, but my computer was out of commission.

MyCar-Monitor I found a while back and downloaded it. It is quite nice with some different reports you can run. Logs all maintenance, mileage, and any other vehicle data you would like to record. In the mileage data you can input the expected mileage and it will give you a warning when you fall out of that range even.

Reports that can be made (charts actually) are Fuel consumption, fuel cost, fuel unit price, distance per fuel unit, fuel composition by producers (perfect for your test Jagk), cost report, cost per service type and cost per service works.

It gives some pretty interesting data.

Quote from Forbin :Even if it was backed up with solid evidence? I think it would be very unfair for a teacher to completely dismiss a paper out of hand purely due to the topic.

Ok, I'll clarify a little...

If I was a teacher and someone wrote an essay about how computer games teach you and make you a better driver, I would fail it immediately knowing what I know after driving for the past 21 years and sim racing on the computer for the past 14 years.

There's my solid evidence, I've been driving a car (RWD, FWD, 4WD, and AWD on dry pavement, wet pavement, snow, ice, at slow speeds, and at high speeds experience.) Nothing learned from sim racing on the computer has "dramatically impacted" my driving or understanding of driving in the real world.
