Quote from Alex_Ward :This may sound silly, but how the hell do you do that? :P

Set up on a tripod, manual settings, manual focus (or at least focus then turn on manual to keep same), take a shot, rotate camera with overlap in the frame, take a shot.... rinse and repeat for as many shots as you want. Settings stay the same to keep the same exposure, focus stays the same to keep the same focus distance. Might want to set the white balance too so it doesn't change shot to shot.

Many programs out there to stitch them together.

Ha! I figured I would get all the little kiddies in here in an uproar. You guys have any idea how it is to drive on a hilly road? One with other cars cruising up behind you at 20 mph over the limit while you are in a weak little 4 popper screaming in 3rd gear at 6000 rpms trying to keep the speed limit uphill (and failing)?

Let's see, I drive a Nissan Altima, 150 hp 2.4L 4 cylinder that barely gets out of it's own way. My wife's Ford Escape 200 hp V6, much more weight, high center of gravity, and "poor handling" will walk all over the Altima. You boy racers constantly talk about handling, you are ON THE ROAD! I don't care about your egomaniacle opinions of your superiority complex ridden "our roads and cars are better than yours" opinions, I very much doubt that my "big" SUV would break a sweat driving as a normal driver on any road, yours, mine, or his.

Much like the assumption that everyone is rich in the US which is wrong, we also all don't drive on the interstate and live in the city. And speed limits are set for a reason, if it's 45 mph here, then anything you drive darn well better handle the road at 45 mph. If it is 25 mph where you are, if you can't handle that in a "crap handling American car", then you shouldn't be on the road.

As for the kid driving the BMW and killing himself and 3 others (4 others? Can't remember...) it has nothing to do with the car. He would have killed himself in anything because he was the idiot, not the car. If you think you can't handle a car and need some little go-kart cardboard box, then you shouldn't even be driving the cardboard box. It's the stupidity of the kids in cars and the invincible thinking that's the problem, not the cars.

All these car threads and talk about insurance and your weak little cars are really starting to make me feel sorry for you all.

With the cars you guys are talking about, you wouldn't have to worry about being laughed off the road over here. You'd be run off the road far sooner while you struggle to hold half the speed limit up the hills and everyone else runs you over at 70 mph.

Quote from Jakg :Wow - aggressive much? I'm sure i've done stupid things - but I can't believe I make stupid mistakes THAT often.

Not expecting that these things are going to happen is the biggest mistake made on the road.

Nice bump. It's dead. They pulled it, or at least they haven't run any more for quite some time. I don't know what happened, but it was a pretty good flop. Perhaps they are going the same route the cable channels are with make 3 episodes and re run them every year

Just catching up with this thread, and I noticed this......

Use the arrow keys to scroll the page up and down. Really cool illusion.

On second thought, I am on a CRT, perhaps it would be different on an LCD of which I assume most of you have...

Quote from (SaM) :

Man, you people sure do buy a lot of stuff. I'm boring, it would be constantly posting groceries or fuel. Fuel about 4 times a week (2 cars 2 drivers) and groceries every 2 weeks.

Quote from tonyonparas : 2nd to last purchase of mine is a car.. -> http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l...5042009230.jpg

Did you buy that from a car dealer, as in the one the car is in front of in the picture? That is in serious bad shape for a dealer car if so. Gonna need some serious cleaning, detailing, and buffing on that thing.

Where is the proof that it was done on purpose? Perhaps it was a wild shot at something else that just happened to land where it did. If this is cruel, then any time an animal is hit by a car on the road, it should be considered cruel and a bounty should be posted for the "responsible persons."

Guilty until proven innocent, that's not the way it is suppose to be. Unfortunate, but not necessarily cruel, until it is proven.

On another note, kangaroos to Aus. is like deer to the US. They are everywhere. Are kangaroos hunted like deer is here? Without hunting, the deer would be wildly out of control here in Pennsylvania.

Quote from sam93 :Why does anyone need a car? It's for transport duh. lol.

Why does anyone need a car? Because when one person lives near enough to public transportation, he automatically assumes that everyone lives near enough to public transportation.

I don't need a car myself, I could just walk the 29 miles to the bus station. Then again, it would be easier to walk the shorter 20 miles to work than walk past work to catch the bus...

Quote from LFSn00b :Are you referring that sauna is gay?

You understand that nearly the whole Scandinavian population(atleast nearly all Finns) go to sauna weekly :/

So, nearly the whole Scandinavian population is gay then?

Swine flu media blitz is finished here in western Pennsylvania now too. Announced the other day that the first US citizen has died from the flu, but then a drunken post on the Pittsburgh Penguins message board was found saying the poster was "going to kill Ovechkin, I don't care if I go to jail" The Pittsburgh Penguins are playing the Washington Capitals in round 2 of the playoffs of which is an incredible rivalry because the Pens have knocked out the Caps after being down at least by 2 games every time they've met in the playoffs. Alex Ovechkin is their superstar player, first round draft pick when we had 2nd pick and got Evgeni Malkin. It's a rivalry battle, a battle of first round draft picks, battle of superstars, and battle of Russian superstars all wrapped up in a single series.

Quote from DeadWolfBones :Really nice detail on the second blossom shot, Mike.

Thx, DWB (always forget the real name....)

The 800px resize doesn't do it justice. I was pleasantly surprised with that one and the dandelion once I got them to the computer. I'm real happy with those both sitting at desktop resolution.

Part of it is PP. I reworked my processing steps as I was losing quite a lot of detail in the finished image previously. I have quite a few of the kids shots from the past winter to rework now as that was mostly shots I lost a good bit of detail with PP.

Grip Driver, where do you live that Walmart folks are so bad? They are just normal stressed out workers around here, nothing out of the ordinary. Mostly they are older folks just trying to make ends meet.

Was at Walmart just yesterday and WOW, best looking cashier I've seen in quite some time.

Dang it, why every time I post in response to someone else, I end up being the next one to post again when I get some photos done....

DWB tossed up the bee shot, so I had to head outside to the apple trees....

Best I could do with the bee. They won't stay still long enough for me to get the shot.

And some more obligatory apple blossoms since they are blooming. I liked the way the sun was filtering down through onto these two.

Dandelions are underrated. They can be beautiful.

Spent all summer last year stripping the paint off my cedar siding. Still have more to do as soon as the rain stops.

And of course, Amy the yellow Lab again, amidst the fallen petals.

Quote from aoun :Does anyone know where i can get tips on how to use the camera in depth with all options. most of the time im on full auto option.

Also, I posted for someone else a few pages ago.....

Quote :Shortcourses - Very good.

Digital Camera Help - They either changed this, or it's the wrong site. This isn't what I was looking for...

Beyond that, if you want some reading material for the next year, check out the list of links I created. I haven't even finished organizing them yet... Here

I just counted in the link to my photography links list, there's 90+ sites listed of various stuff. Lots of good reading and info.

Quote from Mackie The Staggie :TV is a mere distraction, and is mainly used for sports and Racing

Bingo!

NHL Playoffs Game 3 of Round 2 tonight with Ovechkin and the Capitals up 2-0 in the series against Crosby and the Penguins.

Other than that....

Savaran on Sports (local sports newscaster)
Classic Albums on VH1 Classics
Various movies that I record when they have the free movie channel previews.

Other than that, I don't watch TV much. No time.

Mythbusters was good, but I've seen them all years ago. Everything interesting is nothing but reruns for years.

Use to watch Top Gear, but I really couldn't stand that idiot Clarkson any longer.

If you want something fun and nimble, I would get an old bus, the biggest bus you can find. They are very nimble, I rode in one once.

Tobacco is worse than alcohol over here. If you look under 40, they are required to check ID at Walmart. It's the store's requirement.

Think of it the opposite way, in the worker's eyes. You get hundreds of ****s coming through acting and treating you like ****s, you become an **** yourself.

My wife went back to work after 8 years of child rearing. She worked at a home improvement center, and went back to the same store. She made it 1 day before she was tired of putting up with ****'s shit and treatment when they came through the store.

When 99% of the public out there coming through stores and shopping centers are ****s, it makes it difficult for the clerk to be nice to that 1%, if by off chance that 1% happens to include you.

When I go to the registers in a store, I do not dump a basket of products onto the counter and expect the clerk to sort through them. I do not leave the 50 pound bag of dog food at the bottom of the cart expecting the 60 year old lady working the counter to lift it out and pull it across the scanner. I do not just leave everything in the cart and expect the clerk to pull it all out to scan it. And I do not expect the clerk to be having a good day and be pleasant when I just watched 5 ****s in front of me treat her like shit. I will try to make it their day when it comes time for me to be checked out.

Be sure to look at yourself and the way you treat the "fatty" at the register before complaining about the service you recieve.
