Yep had that, pulled out network cable and all was good!
So far I'm not sure what to make of it, only done a few licenses so far before stopping for food - going back on now, I'm sure once I start racing it'll be much better!
Ah yes, so it is - didn't notice the loadscreen! Still - they all look like newbies!
And to those who say "I don't like kids whining on it" here's a tip for you... Join an xbox live party (or PS3 equivalent) with your friends and enjoy killing the shit out of the kids with them - no whining while having an absolute blast! It is a great FUN game when you play with friends.
I never understand why in most damage models these days after the side of the car gets a hit the doors open... RBR had it too - was the first if I remember rightly.
Don't doors usually dent and cave in a bit? I'm certain I've never seen a car (rally or race) with a door open after contact... Although thinking about it, it happened in the BTCC once a couple of years back with Rob Collard, but my point is, doors don't fly open as often or as easily as these games suggest it does after damage!
New laser and mechanism is around £40-£50 online - just a case of pulling apart PS3 and blu ray drive, I can repair it myself - used to be a computer technician before I decided to do a course relating to it at uni. Plus there's plenty of guides online/youtube!
I'm hopefully getting a broken PS3 (blu ray laser) to get repaired ready for GT5... Saving of about £100ish of a 2nd hand PS3. When you're a student as skint as I am, it's worth the effort!
Sorry to quote you, I could quote anyone saying it's a Codies rush job, but has anyone actually thought that it could be something to do with the FIA? Reading the dev blogs and Q&A stuff it seems they're very limited with some things by what the FIA say, an example is in multiplayer codies were only allowed to allow 1 car per team instead of 2 due to an FIA license restriction.
Also the way the FIA are they probably wanted the game out before Singapore and not a day later, if it was delayed then maybe they'd have the F1 license taken off them.
Personally I'm happy with this game, I never went into it with the view that it'd be a sim, just a good fun game, and that's exactly what it is. Yes it's full of bugs, but that could be down to what I've said above too, lack of testing time. Reserve judgement until F1 2011 or a patch for 2010, that's all I'm doing.
Just got Virgin installed in my flat today - getting 8MB down 1MB up, yet to give it a proper test, Steam downloaded at 780KB/s though. Paying £26 a month for it including line rental. It's through phone line as well, despite me being in Nottingham city centre there's no fibre cable here!
Virgin did, however, fail at setting up the router for me before they shipped it, 10 minutes on the phone to a nice Irish lady to get the right settings sorted it out!
Biggest plus side for Firefox IMO is addons, no doubt Chrome will have something there too!
There's a slightly bigger more chunky addon that shows where your bookmarks do on firefox called YooNo which can have twitter and facebook feeds on top of each other. I used it for about a week and couldn't get used to it, too chunky for my liking. I think there's a desktop version of it too though. Again, might be available for Chrome too.
Echofon Firefox addon - Twitter is on a handy little button on the bottom right of the browser, easily accessable, and just there in general! Much better than integrating it on facebook.
I'm currently doing end of year 1 university exams, the first exams I've done since I sat GCSEs 6 years ago! I've only got 3, but there's 2 2 hour exams and a 3 hour one. Had Computer Technology exam in machine code programming already! Next comes Introduction to Systems Analysis and Design on Friday and Introduction to Networks next week. Networks will be a walk in the park as I've been doing it for god knows how long - the other 2 exams are right sods!
I didn't revise for my GCSEs and got 8Cs and 2Bs, I'm revising like crazy for these ones and it's still not sinking in!
To add to this the Jag XFR is really nice to drive too! Had a quick race with it last night around Silverstone, it's very quick down the straights for what is a 4 door saloon!
I'm getting random crashes now in Free Play - Just picked Hotlap > Focus RS > Tsukuba Circuit, once again resulted in a crash, as did RS200 on Sidewinder Layout I in hotlap.
Does anybody else get a crash on Forza 3 when you go to Free Play > Quick Race > pick car VW Golf mk6, on the Sidewinder Layout I track (the long one)?
Been on the public hoppers for the last few days and been kicked twice for winning a race (with no contact AT ALL) and taken out at least 4 times by various idiots...
Anyone here who hasn't got me on XBL my gamertag is btccmad - will be good to race with people who won't kick me for winning!
