My first set of wheels, bought today. After driving my mums Yaris for 2 years and after finally getting a job my parents have bought me a car, which i pick up on thursday

2003 Ford Focus 1.6LX
32,000 miles, Air Con, Heated front windscreen, Alloy Wheels, CD Player, Electric Windows, Remote Central locking, Power Steering, Twin Airbags

Absolute bargain at £5000. (Insurance = £1200 on top of that which i have to pay for )

Quote from The Moose :
I'm no computer expert but i can bamboozle most PC World staff in seconds.

I applied for a job at PC World about 6 months ago, I got an interview, my sisters friend also got an interview for the same job, she hasn't got a clue about computers in the slightest, infact from what my sister says, she gets as far as turning it on then gets a bit stuck. She answered all technical questions in the interview with "don't know". I answered them fully with accurate answers too.

Guess who got that job... She still works there 6 months on....

How about dropping an SO race and putting AS Cadet in there, then there's 2 events at each track. Would make much more sense than to have a more SO biased league.

RACE07 demo is updated, now includes support for custom skins.

Well, I will be buying RACE07 for 2 reasons, 1. I love the demo, 2. I'm not an LFS fanboy who thinks LFS is god almighty (which, it isn't)

Took alot of FFB tweaking but i finally got there in the end with something decent. Probably won't be any good to you lot, because i only like it strong enough so i can feel what the front wheels are doing, not 'yank-your-arms-off' strength that most of you have it at.

I think it feels good, fairly easy to drive, but hard to drive fast, like RACE. It's only when you get into a competitive field of drivers (in a community race) that you realise this is the case. Sounds are much improved, and it runs smoother than RACE did too.

Quote from bbman :Well, it was promised that it wouldn't be ISI, as the lizard engine has been said to cover physics too... It doesn't feel changed any bit, unfortunately... Another engine only for graphics afterall...

It was always said RACE07 will be the last one on the ISI engine and that the Lizard engine will be all new for (hopefully) their next game.

As I've said earlier in this thread, People get confused by it as the Lizard engine announced before RACE07 was, with just a few weeks between the announcements.

Quote from Becky Rose :I thought they were making an all new physics engine for Race07?

Nope, RACE07 is the last game on the ISI engine, the Lizard engine comes with the next game they release. It confuses alot of people because both were announced within a few weeks.

Quote from TiJay :Not meaning to be prejudiced, but isn't this just the same old ISI engine with a few new cars and shinier graphics?

Same ISI engine yes, tweaked physics which make it feel better than RACE, better sounds, better performance.

But because it's ISI engine it's going to be flamed and bashed to hell, just because some people don't want to admit it's good (fanboyism i think they call it). It's something I'm sick of seeing here, I actually like it, alot. But I really liked the original RACE, I think it has the right feel to it, and IMO, better feel than LFS. (go on, flame me).

/me puts on flameproof suit.

1 word... Brilliant!

great fun to drive, plenty of grip and very close racing. The first quali session we did 9 cars were covered by 0.89 sec. And the racing was very exciting, I had a smile all over my face.

Thanks to everyone that followed the 45% restriction rule - not 1 person didn't put the restriction on, made my job being the admin there much easier, and hope to see more next time

Also thanks to ZWR and particularly Butz for organising this 'mini event' I think it was very successful especially at short notice, and I really hope to see a league starting with these in the near future.

OK my ideas, I've skimmed through most of this thread so sorry if they've been mentioned:

Multi-Class racing, have some in UF1.3 and some in UF1. Make it fair so there will be some UF1s in the field to race with, then you get the added skills of lapping the slower cars (which I presume they are).

Keep it to the short tracks, there's nothing more boring than being in a car that does a max speed of 90mph if you push it having 4 minute laps. There's not enough races held on the shorter tracks these days.

Run 2 races per round of equal length (20 mins sound good) at the same track.

Ballast - becoming much more common in motorsport these days, makes the racing closer and the championship much closer. Should run in BTCC style where the top 4 or 5 in the championship carry ballast through practice/quali and race 1, then race 2 the ballast is determined by finishing positions in race 1.

Drop scores: allow people to drop their 2 worst event scores. This also allows people a bit more freedom so that effectively they can miss 2 rounds and have a social life.

Also keep it to 1 night a week. Thursday nights are good, but personally I can't do them until mid-October.

I'd love to see new tracks as long as they are focused on a more technical layout, narrower than other tracks already in S2 (maybe like the FE width, but that's still too wide in places.

I'm thinking a track a bit like Knockhill - built on the side of a mountain, narrow, hilly, technical and short with tonnes of character.

I think LFS has too many long tracks that are suited to single seaters and GTRs and not enough tracks that are suited to UF1/XFG, even the XFR and UFR and Turbo Class cars.

I know I'm going to get a beating for this, but I'm a fan of short tracks, of which on LFS there's only 4 or 5 (not inlcuding reverse variants - FE1, AS1, SO Sprint 1&2, SO1). Most tracks are 'Grand Prix' length which take ages to do in above mentioned cars.

I am with Pipex, they are an absolute shambles at the moment, between 5pm and 11pm and all the way through the weekends i get nothing but problems.

I was looking to change a few months back, but my dad kept moaning at me that he had no problems and that he didn't want to change his email address... so in the end I gave in just to keep him happy, he is the bill payer afterall. (Annoying thing is, he said 'tell me a good ISP and we'll change' - I gave him all sorts of options only for him to moan at me about changing email addresses)

When I get a job I'm going to get my own phone line put in so I can choose what ISP I want
