my layout circuitSmile

Nice track attempt! But I'd like if you don't advertise on other people's work thread, thanks!
Craft your own thread and watch your work take off from there Smile

What would be funny is if someone reports to his server hosting about this lfspro thing and his mini world gets an abrupt shutdown.....

Surely though, the host he is using can be informed about what's going on, right? Like him essentially ripping off lfs.
Or even his forum host, that would make a big dent..

Could Scawen issue a takedown notice? Or would this have to go down the BRcruise route

Seems he is not smart enough to realise advertising in a licenced server means addressing an audience that already bought licences

With this methodology he'd be lucky to even have a fraction of what Peurelok or BR or whatever had, before Scawen raises his hand.

Marketing done wrong, Lol

///edit
If he goes on demo servers do post an update, so I can put forward a perm ban on some demo severs, if not before Scawen bans him

Next time can you blank-o or cover his website when you post it to this forum so no one goes to it

Driver who sets fastest qualifying time for the car he is in must start the race (first stint)?

Quote from demolicense :Lol it is real? What i need to do, just say im in? If yes, Im in.

Yeah, its real, and no, you don't qualify as you are hours old, and most likely an alternate-account of an existing licensed-user wishing to get a free upgrade for a spare account that would eventually be sold to someone for own benefit, and then be used, at some point, to troll or annoy people.

If otherwise, and you are indeed a new user,
Welcome, put some milage on and try joining this draw a couple months after.

This draw is meant to advance capable and worthy drivers wanting a new adventure, not just anyone.

Hey,

Do make a report at our forum if you have a replay or some evidence. Necessary action will be taken if the user(s) are found to be abusing the voting system (i.e two friends vote banning people who join).

https://lx-fx.co.uk/AirAttack/forum/index.php

That server replay can be found under replays with the title "temp.mpr", if you haven't joined another server after being banned.

Vote bans last only half a day (12hr) so you should be back up and running by the afternoon.

Freshboy was on ban-on-sight (or something similar) one or two years back on our servers too. Had multiple accoumts then, as well.

Looks like nothing changed, although saw him racing decently, without speedhack, quite recently.

I mean sure.... I guess the developers could throw the VWS in the next update....

But of course you'll just have a car without wheels and movement, but HEY! At least you have your car, right?

uhhhhhhhh yes

That's w1ck3D man!

Literally. Great job Smile

Hopefully if devs raising the bottom of the layout ground floor (base 0) the layout might not be affected at all!

Quote from Scawen :I've checked and if I select Autocross X or Skid Pad X then there is nothing at the Drag Strip start, only the red tarmac.

There is an uphill area at the end of the drag strip that starts to rise gently about 620 metres from the start. At the 750 metres point it has gone up by about 0.8 metres. At 800 metres it's up by about 1.5 m and finally at the end, around 960 metres from the start, the height is nearly 6 metres.

Great! Thanks! Abit of tweaking near the uphill area might make turn 1 more COTA like for the layout. Cool!

@Ped7g
Pssssssh I just wanted to know Frown Nothing against anything, just wanted to know in advance so i could prepare lol
Luckily nothing affects the floating tracks so Norisring wont be affected... if it was then hell not rebuilding that again Rofl

@Scawen Will those start light pylons be removed in open X config? My layouts (Lmaoring) goes through those stuff currently in "old" drag strap, so if the locations of those poles are moved then I will have to reconfig the track and the entire structures around it (Marcus Memorial stadium) which would be a PITA imo.

Also, as people pointed out, there seems to be a rise/elevation at the far end of the strip. Will this also render layouts on the current flat drag strip incompatible??

@Eclisped
I think it is indeed a uphill runoff area near the end of the strip.

I guess its fine if you edit it and use it yourself and only post general videos regarding your escapades - and not share the actual track/environment widespread on the forum, however I do suppose that any piece of game or property is shielded by some kind of content rights/property rights that prohibit extensive altering of the game to some extent..

http://mttlr.org/2012/11/gaming-mods-and-copyright/

"This means that mods are “legal” only insofar as game developers suffer them to be so; the moment a developer finds a mod distasteful, it can be found to infringe copyright."

Sometimes the game itself may not necessarily state anything in the T&Cs regarding modding or game alterations but instead the game and developers themselves are covered already by mainstream rules.

In short, if the developers/moderators think what you are posting/doing is somewhat not allowed, then its illegal abd automatically deemed so - even if it wasn't originally stated

Quote from Aw3som3G4m3rzYT :is 1st person view viable for this course?

Yes! To be fair, if you wish to drive it you have to go into "F" mode and remove bodywork. If not you will not complete it at all Tongue

this Autocross???

Frown
Looks like there might be a object incursion problem with the drag strip poles and the Lmaoring "Marcus Memorial stadium arena".. I hope this doesn't cause the demise of the layout Schwitz

Means quite a lot to some people so I hope Lmaoring will be able to stay as it is and perhaps even take an extended route on the left side of drag area now Smile

Twinky you're missing the point.

"Official" modding (not just VOB) in any game isn't easily available and is not easy to get licencing for just purely because of the mass of possibilities one has. Thats why games like rF, F1 (Codies), and many others that enable track, car or modelling are non official and are done at own risk.

BeamNG seems to have done it but then again they must have some damn good rules for developers and modders to prevent licencing issues or copyrighted material reaching the next build.

What LFS is and has been doing is like every other game - completely disregarding and disallowing modding, and having concequences for it (i.e getting banned online, account revoked (c Vanos) and so on).
Yes, people will still do it, and plenty do many great things. But notice they all run their mods offline or in cracked and tweaked servers and whenever they come online to a normal server... they can't. At least with VOB mods. And if they can, some admin or someone will boot them away.

So we end up siphoning out the runts and have a clean community base. Those who mod can have their own private offline base. But never in the near future do I see modding capability as an official in game allowed thingy. Far too many legal stuff to go through and then you'll end up having the mod base better than the game itself. And at that point Scawen will probably end the development since the game would already be modded to obvilion.

So no. In short.
Modding can be great but the dangers and risks far outweigh the possibilities. Also noting the fact that black sheep tarnish the reputation of "good intented" modders (by bringing mods and tweaks online, crashing others, having negative influencesp and we can't really view it positively anymore.
