I think the simple answer is: Racetracks don't use cones, they use those flappy thingies that are bolted to the ground. Autocross does use cones though so maybe one of the RL autocrossers here can tell us something about the size.
Completely agree with keiran here. People who say Alonso was lucky quite simply haven't bothered to look at the actual data to see who made more mistakes and who had more technical problems.
But back to the Hamilton topic. At the end of last year Paffett, Hamilton and de la Rosa were in a kind of shootout for the second McLaren seat. Does anyone here think that either Paffett or de la Rosa would be leading the WDC now, had they been chosen? Personally I don't think even Paffett would have been able to do it and PDLR wouldn't have even come close. What did he achieve when he had a few races last year?
Another thing I just noticed: how come most of the people that aren't exited about Hamilton are from the UK? Are you letting James Allen annoy into not wanting to jump on the bandwaggon?
I see. For me he has already shown enough to convince me that he will have no problems at all to deal with the of the situations you mention. But we'll have to wait one or two seasons to get hard answers to your questions.
I don't really remember a lot of spins in GP2 but I didn't watch all the races either.
I'd be interested to know what you think he would have to do for you to consider him worthy of the hype? Is it that you're still waiting to see how many mistakes he makes? Or maybe you don't see Alonso as top line driver?
How about he beat the current double world champion twice in four races, almost beat him in his first and hasn't made a single mistake yet? I honestly can't believe that anybody can fail to see just how amazing a job hamilton is doing. Compare his consistancy, speed and failure rate with other hot rookies. And isn't there a regulation that launch/traction control isn't allowed to kick in until 100 km/h are reached after the start?
Clearly, paying the devs for the 1024 versions will be money well spent. While the 2048 versions are visibly better still, I don't think they warrant using 4 times the bandwidth of 1024 versions. If LFS was a stand alone offline game then sure, go as high as you can, but since LFS has such a great auto skin download feature file size needs to be considered.
Has anyone made in-game screenshots for direct comparison of different skin texture sizes? I couldn't find any in this thread and am too lazy to make them myself right now.
So in summary you've got 4 F3's that are all over 10 years newer than yours, 4 Formula Vauxhall-Lotus, 2 Formula X and one TFR07 (what's that?).
So basically your goal would be to beat the FVL and beating any of the F3's would be a great achievment, right? You were already less than 2 seconds slower than an F301(!) so it could get interesting.
Thx for the report. 3 seconds in your first race with almost zero track time sounds very good to me! Is there a list of entrants somewhere so we can see what kind of cars you are competeing against?
They used whistles at the WRC Germany Rally. Everytime a car was close enough the marshalls would whistle a few times to make sure people were alert. Similar to the way that people race circuits are warned everytime a car enters the pitlane.
That's why I asked if it was an official spectator area as I think those would be marshalled. That she didn't get scared away by the noise is puzzling though, but with so few details we canly guess wtf happened.
Yes, that's how I know it. Why weren't they warned? Were there no marshalls? Were they at an official spectator spot?
And to the people who think it's silly to cross a rally track: You are aware that rally cars are seperated by about five minutes from each other aren't you? Crossing the track is a perfectly reasonable thing to do if you know there is no car coming.
And why isn't this on the autosport.com front page? This is a fatal accident at an official FIA event. I guess only racing drivers are real people in the eyes of the racing press.
I'm a bit surprised that the efficiency of a muscle is so poor. Would have thought that evolution would have optimized it more. In terms of efficiency electric motors are great though. And not only that: t3h rulage.
But biomechanics definatly can do some amazing stuff. For instance after over 100 years of aviation we are nowhere near being able to maneuver through the air as agile as a stupid fly.
I made a much better version. Heidfeld takes 41.16 s where Bell takes 44.80.
Using Advanced mathematical techniques we can now find that Heidfeld could have done a 6:08 which would have beaten Bellof's record of 6:11 by 3 seconds.
But I'm amazed how little regard people have for image quality: asking for youtube when you get a perfectly fine, smooth AVI file illepall In fact increasing the bitrate wouldn't even hurt as it would help remove the blockiness of the smoke.
