Norbert Kiss (i think his user is "Norbi") is multiple Truck Racing european champion. IIRC he was very competitive back in the golden days and held a couple of WRs. He was even spotted through LFS.

Great competition throughout, impressive speed...
May I ask for the endurance or at least hotlap setup for the tracks now that the competition is over? Or for the last round at Aston if the whole pack is too much to ask for?
Thank you in advance!

Hi DarkTimes, I used a slightly updated version of your pyinsim in my g27 linux leds project (see forum). I have modded the outgauge reception to work with python3, as 2.7 support ends this year and I didnt want to create something thats obsolete soon Smile
Are you planning to port the whole project to python3 anytime or even add support to this new custom outsim packet Scawen introduced in the last test patches?
G27 leds for Linux

Hello all,

I have written an app to drive the G27s leds in Linux, as no other solution worked for me.
I have planned to add Windows support to the app too, but the existing method with the directinput hook is just not where I want to go. If someone can give me a tip to control the LED directly over HID, I will add that.

Features:
- RMP lights
- redline RPM lights flash (2 different levels, new redline + redline)
- Low fuel warning red lights flash
- car RPM and fuel limits can be altered inside the .py files

May come:
- car setup from config file
- once pyinsim adds python3 support
- fuel warning based on fuel consumption
- disable low fuel warning for quality/hotlap modes

https://gitlab.com/Gabor-B/g27ledforspeed

The app can be either ran directly with python, or a executable can be created with ./linux_deploy.sh

Hello everyone! I know this is an old thread, but could not find anything else relevant.
How is the support for the G27s LEDs in Linux? Anyone using it, or knowing how to get it working?

I have a new Wheel, so probably no additional changes will be done to the code in future. In case anyone wants to use or update it, please visit here:

Thanks, I have just tried again, and the force feedback indeed gets stuck with that centering force. I can reset it only if I unplug my wheel, exiting LFS will leave me with the centering active.
The FFB quality is not that good, but it is there now - except if I refresh or change controllers. (There are 2 controller versions available, with a (js) and an (event) postfix.

Hello I am bumping this thread to get some feedback from linux users. I ran LFS with unmodified wine, but there are no force feedback effects from my wheel (except the default centering force)
Is there any news about FF with LFS?

Wheel: Logitech Momo Force (the Red one)
OS: Ubuntu 16.04, Wine 1.6.2

It seems the customer Oculus is not a really desirable product.. Slightly off topic: Is the Razer OSVR supported by LFS? Could not really find anything about it here or elsewhere. If it stays opensource it can become a good alternative
xxx's hotlap has not yet been converted into RAF format. - since hours

Hi!

My hotlap is not being converted, so that I cannot load it into the Hotlap analyser. This may have something to do with the downtime (some server/connection still cut)?

My hotlap is at AS6r with the RB4. I have also uploaded a previous, slower lap, which wasn't converted either. Other players newly uploaded hotlaps weren't converted too.

Hello all!
I have returned to LFS after a bigger break, sadly my beloved momoleds did not worked anymore. Therefore I have fixed, recompiled and updated it with new functions. Maybe someone still uses it, so I have uploaded the new version 1.3 for LFS 0.6G.

Source code: http://www75.zippyshare.com/v/59154166/file.html
Executable: http://www75.zippyshare.com/v/89157523/file.html

I hope kegety is OK with that, seeing he does not maintain it anymore.

Nice, but I don't have an Oculus ATM Anyway, this seems to be a one-off race. Thanks anyway, I may borrow a rift for this one
Any Wednesday leagues in operation?

Hello, I am not really a beginner, but I would like to try to pick up some races after a longer off-time.
I haven´t really found any functioning leagues on Wednesdays (i looked), maybe someone could help me out with some insider info? Sadly this is the only time i could continuously spare time for LFS (or maaaybe sunday night, big maybe).

LFS has one of the best VR experiences out there, especially if you sit in a seat with a steering wheel & the body model is turned on.
One thing is pretty unpleasant though, if you move your eyes behind the body vertices of the car, you just peek through the whole body. Especially prominent with the open wheeled cars. It is pretty disturbing and illusion destroying if you turn around in the FOX to look back and half of the car is missing. Or even just some side panels, as there is not much space in there.

I am aware that this is pretty much the way how the rendering of 3D models work, would it be prudent to look for a solution here? What is the opinion of other Rift users?

Edit: Of course I meant if the solution is a matter of minutes as expanding the viewport or some depth tweaks...

Can't really decide. I still love it, but something changed. I reinstalled the wheel some time ago and the racing was fun as ever. But probably because the fellow racers are gone now, the competition and the encouragement isn't the same. Maybe I am also not willing to train anymore that much for an event. I just miss things like the Ocarina race challenge, the times when we were preparing and racing for endurance events, good singleseater fights in the OWRL, etc.

I somehow just need some motivational kick to get really into it again.

Lfs development in 3 words:
Duke Nukem Forever (Endless anticipation, lots of expectations, but how much can and will be satisfied?)

Tho stay with the analogy:
People like Duke Nukem 3D because it has this "certain edge", just like LFS (and maybe also nostaliga). This is why the lack of dated graphics and new levels(tracks) is accepted to a certain level.

All NFS games had a great level of detail, that is not why they have failed (at least from out point of view). Still no INFORMATIVE posts about how the physics/ handling/feel of the game is..

Quote from Scawen :Dear LFS Racers,
... barriers were famously troublesome, often throwing your car several metres in the air if you touched a red and white barrier ...

Could this also affect the buggy curbs on some tracks (eg. ky2 outer curb in the R-L-R combo before the oval part)? Is the code somehow related, or can it be fixed just as fast as the barrier bug? If this can be done without making the patch incompatible, it would be really neat.

I would have liked to read a little more about how the new tyre model will be implemented in LFS on the news page, or is the correct method still in the stars? Was nice to read BTW.

PS: Couldn't some portion of the tyre physics code be processed in OpenCL, so that you have to approximate less in your code? Or is it illusoric that everyone has an OpenCL capable GPU?

Quote from GabbO :Hi guys,

i can't seem to get multi-monitor working, i just cant get above 1920*1200. I read a lot of threads, but found nothing that helped.

Win7, ATI HD4850, Multiple monitor setting in Win: extend these displays.
Patch Z20, right Monitor added in Options->View

Anyone a hint?

Quote from Shotglass :you seem to be using extended desktop in windows as opposed to having one large desktop across both screens (with the taskbar going across both and all that) which is what the graphiccard must see for multiscreen to work in lfs

Ok, I just tryed everything I could, googled a lot, but still no clue how to do this on Windows7. Someone must have done this already somehow, please help!!!!
