I hear what you're saying Tristan and until women actually compete at the same level as men we'll probably never know, I'm just going from my own experience with the female species. There will always be exceptions though, like Sabine who runs the ring taxi, she'd probably cut my dangly bits off and use them as fluffy dice on the rear view mirror for questioning the capabilities of female racing drivers

Quote from Becky Rose :

There's no male advantage in racing

I disagree, and I'm in no way being sexist, it's just plain old mother nature at work. It's just that if you put a man in a 600bhp supercar and a woman in a 600bhp supercar and they are involved in a high speed braking duel, you can bet your bottom dollar that the woman will back off first, and that's not because they're weaker than men, it's because they're not being driven by testosterone.

There's little metal bits that stick out of the pots that sit in small indents on the pedal base, it's the small indents that you pack with blu-tack so that theres no room for any movement of the pots in the indents.

There's some pics how to do it on the net I'll try and find them and post a link and I'll take some pics myself when I open my pedals up on tuesday when my squashball arrives from Ebay so I can mod the brake pedal.

Revision B pedals aren't bulletproof either, mine went funny after a week and the brake would stick or the revs would only go to 75% dependin on combined axis or not. I opened mine up and fixed the metal pots in place with some blu-tack and they've been solid since, and that's been with some serious use with no auto cut/blip so they're getting a lot of throttle lifts.

No worries though the rev.b pedals are super simple to open and fix , rev.a was a ballbuster if you weren't careful if i'm not mistaken, but resign yourself to the fact that you will have to do this at some point if you don't want to have to wait for a new set to be sent out.

I drove over a large pothole in the road the other day and almost hit F10 on my dashboard to see if my suspension was damaged

Quote from ButterTyres :dont know many people that switch controllers per car, no doubt most ppl will say its a pointless suggestion.

I don't think he's actually suggesting that people switch controllers for different cars, it was more along the lines of Switching control settings per car.

No person who enjoys racing Sims with a Force feedback steering wheel should be without LFS, it would be a crime not to own this piece of software as it is possibly the best driving experience I've possibly had outside of a real car. Richard burns comes a very close second as that is also a masterpiece but it's a completely different animal.

I have both, rFactor is good for a change and has some solid mods like the porsche cup, the GP2 mod and now the Lienz modthe rTrainer is excellent but it can be tempramental with stutters and needs a decent machine to make it look pretty. I always find myself playing LFS when I want to go online.

I understand what you are saying Alex, and I agree that when you are harnessed in a real car you will not move as much physically, but your body still experiences G-forces which is what the simconmotion is simulating, whereas the 301 is more geared towards Motion simulation.

When I first saw the FrexGP I had the same concerns about the wheel and pedals not moving and I haven't used the FrexGP Matrixi so I can't tell you for certain if they have got it right or not, but once I got my head aroung the concept it became apparent that it's more realistic for the wheel and pedals to remain stationary when you are being thrown around as this is what happens in a car when you are cornering at high speeds.

[quote=Tweaker]
but how else are you going to make something as cool as their product, and expect to make money from it? /quote]

I'd say this is a very viable alternative to a 301 http://www.frex.com/gp/motion/motionpage1.htm and considering that you can have one in your home fully equipped for less that 10 times what it costs for a 301 then it's no wonder frex are selling them faster than they can ship them.

Don't get me wrong, the 301 ridiculously cool as well as ridiculously expensive and I understand that Force-Dynamics aren't looking to put one of these in everyones home, just like Ferrari aren't looking to put an enzo in everyones garage.

It's a very nice piece of technology but it's never going to be a feasible option for 99.9% of simmers. If they made a product to compete with the Frex GP simconmotion then I would consider purchasing one as would a lot of other people I would imagine.

Why even let it bother you to the extent of posting about it on this forum, Just suck it up and move on to another server. so what if they're arrogant, it's their server which they've made available to public racers and they reserve the right to be ****s, if they like.

I've not been in the community long, but one thing I've realised so far is that LFS is a has grown from a very small group of people, which means that if you're new, or not part of a clique, then you're better off just throwing on an extra layer of thick skin and learning to race well, otherwise you'll just be in the way and then people crash into you, or you into them, then they call you a noob, and you get pissed off, then you think they're being arrogant and give them lip on their server, then they ban you.

I'm not saying that's what happened with you as I don't know what you were banned for but I've seen that happen on servers.

Basically Fisichella swore on a family television channel in the middle of the afternoon which would normally be subject to censorship at that time of the day.

ITV should understand that the Pitside is similar to the Ringside in a boxing match, if you're going to get that close expect some harsh language and maybe a few blood spatters

You can buy a dual analogue control pad on Ebay for about 10-15 pounds inc p&p, which will give you precision control over steering, braking and throttle. I can't see why anyone would want to race with a keyboard unless they're on a laptop and it's not feasible to lug control pads and wheels around.

This is great for newcomers to the community, I must admit to being guilty of some rather poor pit skills when I first started simming with LFS but after 3 weeks common sense has prevailed

If you need anybody for making any more movies I'd be interested (as would a few other members Im sure) in making a video on how to get a good line off the starting grid and successfully negotiate a safe passage through T1.

A drafting video would be cool as well which you will no doubt cover in your overtaking video.

I have an ATI x800xl, running at 1600x1200 4xAA and 16xAF it gives me 45 FPS at the back of a huge grid and up over 100 FPS when the pack spreads out. Does a good job of GTR and rFactor as well at lower res and AF settings. I can't really ask for more than that considering you can pick the cadr up for about £100 second hand.
