Quote from niall09 :It was published at 19:55 BST, which was 2 minutes before Jack crossed the line of the sprint race. With Joe back in 7th, it was almost a dead cert that Jack would end up winning.

Nah it was definitely posted near the start of the sprint race - or even before it as we all saw it when we went to watch the stream just before the race. But I'm sure the perfectly logical explanation is that you copied the post from last year in Joomla! and forgot to unpublish it

Quote from JasonJ :Exact same race was full last week at Watkins. Something brewing at that time slot Fri 0:45 GMT?

Thursday 2045 EDT race some people organised, getting 2 splits each week

No video, but I might be persuaded to make one at the end of the week, once I get the replay from the Monday morning one.

Quote from Bean0 :We tried it once, Butz went round in a UF1 I think and made some notes then tried to be co-driver for Adam....

I think this was the first of my Silly Ideas (TM), there are more

Ha, that's a long layout I made for AS4, you kinda need to have a look at the autocross editor as there's quite a few route checkers and obviously you missed one

Quote from troy :Doesn't learning the layout at full speed neglect one of the key points in rallying, actually not knowing how the thing feels while you go full throttle?

I would really like to see something where you need to drive from someone's notes on a layout you never drove before or only get the chance to drive it once with pit speed limiter on and take notes yourself.

Like Joe says, that would give the layout creator, or anyone who helped test the layouts, an advantage. Some bits of the layout are pretty tricky, and you kinda need to know what to do before going at it full speed.

For the test rally though I want as many people as possible to do the stages, you don't want to scare everyone away by just giving them pacenotes An interesting idea for the future though...

Quote from Sueycide_FD :Although one thing i'm confused about on this lyt. Are we supposed to go full throttle over the last huge jump? When ever i do, i hit the signs sometimes and it gives penalties.

The signs are after the finish line so shouldn't give any penalties, show a replay

Quote from Rudy van Buren :no % needed for fxo? anyway nice idea.

Apparently it gets owned on the rally stuff but makes up for it on the tarmac We'll see what it's like after the test rally.

Quote from aroX123 :After signup, is it possible to change the car? I think my RB4 might be slower

Yeah just let me know, though for the test rally it doesn't really matter which one you choose, you can change before R1.

Replays--------------------------------------------------------
Hi all,

We have been planning on running a LFS WRC event, with TBO cars, and layouts on multiple servers for a while now. Phil Diaz has been making layouts, I have been changing the MoE tracker to work with autocross stages, and others have been testing the stage layouts that we're planning to use - now we need some competitors to test out the whole system!

Quote from Krammeh :why not? if someone has full weight and full fuel - its likely a crasher

Full fuel is about half of full weight, so it won't make that much difference to the crasher assumption.

Fuel should be private, or set as a host option.

Been spectating a race on FE25R (basically FE2R) - saw a blue flag for one car but didn't see any blue flags for another car - does the person receiving the blue flag need to have Z34 for others to see blue flags on him?

Edit: asked after the race, seems like z34 is needed for it to work for the person getting lapped.

No, (and Yann gave me the wrong insim port for remote :razz but there isn't spdo living timing.

Edit: seems like even that doesn't work :|

They had almost 600 when I last checked, the Daytona 500 event this year had splits of 43 with well over 10-15 splits so somehow their performance has gone backwards

Scawen - some of us had been making rally layouts, taking advantage of the lack of walls to create new routes - is there any way these could be reinstated with say, a config parameter or something? Perhaps in misc options - enable barriers in open configs - yes/no, defaulting to yes?

Quote from Flame CZE :I hope this is not going to end up just as the Head-to-Head revival. There were also lots of signups but then barely anyone came to race.

The H2H revival was held on the same day as MoE and despite the organisers being told about this and the fact that others probably wouldn't turn up, they still went ahead with 2 start times resulting in failure.

Can I suggest another *FUN* rule - that the winner must explain how they created their edit? I'm not suggesting a full run down of exactly what they did in some sort of screencast, but showing the starting image, a couple of screenshots along the way, and what tools and techniques they used would be great to get others interested and more participation IMO. Nothing worse that seeing a great picture and not having a clue how to do it

Quote from EQ Worry :While F11 is fun for a while, I doubt it is a track where any serious racing can take place. I feel there are quite a few other tracks that would fall into "race-impossible" category, such as the one above. While it is a pleasure to try to create paths for reasonably looking and behaving layout tracks, there's no point in supporting wild configurations.

Cool stuff on F11, thought here's some people doing a race on F11R But yeah, I think all of our layouts can be raced on, in at least one direction.

Quote from Si Mclaren :But, some people doesnt like the chicane, and a new layout could create a option for who like the chicane and who doesnt...

If you don't want the chicane buy S1/S2 and you can run the open config layout

Have you tried restarting the race once the start point is gone (p.s. it's "straight" )

Quote from DarkTimes :OK, thanks for the report, but I will need more information to be able to understand what's causing your error.
  • Which version of InSimSniffer?
  • Is the message a popup dialog box or the big unhandled exception dialog? (if the later please post the stacktrace)
  • Are you connecting to a dedi server or a local client?
  • Are you connecting to an empty host or to one with a race already in progress?
  • Does this happen with the old version of LFS or just Z32?
I have tested InSimSniffer 1.2.6 against LFS Z32 and it works fine (there is no reason it should not), so I would imagine this error must be caused by something else.
  • The latest one from codeplex
  • popup with an ok button
  • local client, but i'm online in a server
  • yes, a race (open config) is in progress
  • haven't checked, don't have time right now but will check soon.
